Son passati già due anni, ma mi pare ieri...
ricordo perfettamente questa foto, la sua costruzione e a chi pensavo di dedicarla, un amico che ama i lampioni e che però da più di un anno non ritorna su Flickr.

Due nuovi gattini nella colonia di Stintino: è stato difficile fare loro delle foto perchè sono vivacissimi:-)))!!
Questa è particolare, si vede solo il corpo di uno ma due musetti perfettamente identici!!
Due farfalline della specie Ochlodes sylvanus hanno scelto lo stesso capolino fiorale di trifoglio dei prati, per alimentarsi. Il capolino è ricco e offre nettare abbondante, ma a questo punto è soltanto questione di velocità. Riuscirà a nutrirsi di più quella che sarà più rapida nella visita dei singoli fiori. L'altra dovrà accontentarsi di cercare altre opportunità; peraltro abbondanti nel prato circostante ..... ..
Sulla palude invernale regna il silenzio. All'orizzonte schiere di dorsali innevate galoppano immobili nello spazio del tempo geologico. I boschi che circondano gli stagni solo spogli e attendono osservando il cielo. Poi, d'improvviso, una coppia di oche selvatiche s'alza in volo e attraversa l'orizzonte; e la vita, come per miracolo, ricomincia a cantare ..... ..
Due aspetti dell'autunno alpino si confrontano, specularmente. Il primo, reale, dettagliato, con precisi cromatismi a mosaico omogeneo. Il secondo sfumato, pennellato, con cromatismi che si confondono l'uno nell'altro. Come a dire che anche la natura crea realtà fantasiose, che sembrano uscire dalla mente dell'uomo, ma che sono in realtà una sua pura creazione ..... ..

Elvaston Castle is a stately home in Elvaston, Derbyshire, England. The Gothic Revival castle and surrounding parkland is run and owned by Derbyshire County Council as a country park known as Elvaston Castle Country Park. The country park has 200 acres (0.81 km2) of woodlands, parkland and formal gardens.
The centrepiece of the estate is the Grade II* Listed Elvaston Castle. The castle has been neglected and is in need of restoration. Due to its condition, the building is not open to the public, and since 2008 has been listed on the Buildings at Risk Register.

A little understanding of the physics of cloud formation underscores the complexity of the atmosphere and sheds light on why predicting weather for more than a few days is such a challenge.
Six types of clouds you can see and how they can help you understand the weather.
1) Cumulus clouds - On a sunny day, rays warm the earth, which heats the air located directly above it. The heated air rises upward due to convection and forms cumulus clouds. These “good weather” clouds are like cotton wool. If you look at the sky filled with cumulus clouds, you can see that they have a flat bottom, located at the same level for all clouds. At this altitude, air rising from ground level cools down to the dew point. It usually doesn't rain from cumulus clouds, which means the weather will be good.
2) Cumulonimbus clouds.
Small cumulus clouds do not rain, but if they grow and grow in height, it is a sign that heavy rain is coming soon. This often happens in summer when morning cumulus clouds turn into cumulonimbus during the day. Cumulonimbus clouds often have a flat top. Air convection occurs inside such a cloud, and it gradually cools until it reaches the temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. At this moment, it loses its buoyancy and can no longer rise higher. Instead, it spreads out to the sides, forming the characteristic anvil shape.
3) Cirrus clouds form in very high layers of the atmosphere. They are smoky because they are composed entirely of ice crystals falling in the atmosphere. When cirrus clouds are carried by winds moving at different speeds, they take on a characteristic curved shape. And only at very high altitudes or at high latitudes, cirrus clouds give out rain that reaches the ground.
4) Stratus Clouds - A low-lying, continuous cloud sheet that covers the sky. Stratus clouds are formed by slowly rising air or gentle winds that cover the cold land or sea surface with moist air. Stratus clouds are thin, therefore, despite the gloomy picture, it is unlikely to rain from them, a little drizzle at most. Stratus clouds are identical to fog, so if you've ever walked in a mountainous area on a foggy day, you've been inside a cloud.
5) Lenticular clouds. Smooth and lenticular lenticular clouds form when air is blown up and over a mountain range, and as it travels over a mountain, the air descends to its previous level. At this time, it heats up and the cloud evaporates. But it can slip further, as a result of which the air rises again and forms another lenticular cloud. This can result in a chain of clouds extending far beyond the mountain range. The interaction of wind with mountains and other surface features is one of the many details that must be taken into account in computer simulations to obtain accurate weather predictions.
6) Kelvin - Helmholtz like a breaking ocean wave. When air masses at different heights move horizontally at different speeds, their state becomes unstable. The boundary between the air masses begins to ripple and form large waves, such clouds are quite rare.

Apple blossoms are not yet in full bloom here due to the cold spring weather. I visited the orchard on the weekend with the grandkids but the trees are just starting to blossom... about a week or two behind the normal.
Due to personal misalignments I wasn't and will still not be able to be here much in the next weeks/months.I have no intention to completely give up on Flickr but I expect my presence here to be very intermittent so I will totally understand if you will choose to be less active on my account. Still hope you will keep me in your contacts as I will eventually be back in a more sustainable manner.
For now all I can do is say thank you so much for your friendship and support that mean a lot to me and wish you a wonderful Summer!

Per qualche congiunzione astrale l’altro ero in ferie e c’era un cielo completamente limpido (meteo B++), visto che avevo alcune faccende da sbrigare il mattino decido di tirare fuori dalla polvere la fotocamera nel pomeriggio..
Il pomeriggio mi dirigo nei pressi del curvone tra Darfo e Gianico, punto foto che avevo già provato ad inizio giugno con meteo “stai a casa..”
Salendo sul muretto noto che c’è una piccola striscia di terreno disboscata al di sotto, dai.. proviamo a vedere come escono le foto da quel punto..
Mentre scendo sento il rumore della campanella del passaggio a livello, il treno discendente sta arrivando.. ti prego fai che sia una doppia di 668.. ah no.. è un 115..
Chiedo informazioni sul rotabile del treno ascendente.. mi dicono sia un 125.. già che siamo qui fotografiamo a quello che passa il convento.. però ci sono i turni rotabili sballati per la chiusura della tratta Cedegolo-Malonno, se mi viene concessa la grazia magari passa una doppietta di ALn668.. sperem
Intanto passa qualche minuto e il passaggio a livello si abbassa, sbuca dal rettilineo una doppia di ALn668!
In coda la sempre presente 143 con il baffo rosso (ormai mi perseguita in ogni uscita fotografica)
Due to the impossibility of going out to photograph, since the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in my country is simply terrifying, I have no alternative but to continue to visit my photo archives, or take photos of arrangements with objects I have at home.
Many of the photos from the archives are usable, but I will allow myself to add a little fantasy using the few skills I have.
Fantasy at this moment becomes essential for maintaining sanity and reducing the sadness caused by this absolutely surreal situation, which has been the lack of right measures against the pandemic, by the authorities and the followers who gave them the power.

Due to my health condition, I am unable to hold or stabilize a camera for extended periods of time. Additionally, using a tripod has never been enjoyable for me, as it would cause pain when trying to position it correctly and constantly bending over to check the viewfinder. Consequently, I have chosen to explore digital AI artwork as an alternative. I understand that this may not be everyone's cup of tea, as it diverges from traditional photography. However, I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, digital AI artwork fulfills that purpose, at least for the time being.

Due to the pleasant seawater temperature and plenty of sunshine ( but a bit dull and foggy today ) , the Xiapu mudflats are rich in kelp, laver, oyster and yellow croakers. Locals living along the beach are mainly engaged in marine culture. The bamboo poles, fish nets and stone columns that are inserted in the mudflats are used to dry kelp, laver, oyster and other marine products. As the sun rises and sets, the tide rises and falls, the bamboo poles, fishing boats and fish nets form various spectacular scenery .

Una bella coppia di casarche (Tadorna ferruginea), le anatre più democratiche del parco, infatti i due generi sono praticamente identici tranne il collarino nero che contraddistingue il maschio.
E' un'anatra di taglia medio piccola con un caratteraccio, difende infatti il suo territorio facendo un chiasso terribile ed aggredendo gli intrusi, anche quelli di taglia maggiore, a colpi di becco.
Santa Maria del Fiore, la cui costruzione fu progettata da Arnolfo di Cambio, è la terza chiesa del mondo (dopo San Pietro a Roma, San Paolo a Londra) e la più grande in Europa al momento della sua ultimazione nel '400: è lunga 153 metri, larga 90 alla crociera ed alta 90 metri dal pavimento all'apertura della lanterna. Essa, terza e ultima cattedrale fiorentina, fu intitolata nel 1412 a Santa Maria del Fiore con chiara allusione al giglio, simbolo della città.
Sorse sopra la seconda cattedrale, che la Firenze paleocristiana aveva dedicato a Santa Reparata.
Le notevoli diversità di stile rivelate nelle sue parti sono la testimonianza del variare del gusto nel lungo periodo trascorso fra la sua fondazione ed il completamento.
La prima pietra della facciata venne posta l'8 settembre 1296, su progetto di Arnolfo di Cambio. Egli lavorò per il Duomo dal 1296 al 1302. Ideò una basilica dagli spazi classici, con tre ampie navate che confluivano nel vasto coro dove è posto l'altare maggiore, a sua volta circondato dalle tribune su cui poi si innesterà la Cupola.
Il progetto di Arnolfo era notevolmente diverso dalla struttura attuale della chiesa, come è possibile notare dall'esterno. Sui fianchi dell'edificio, infatti, a nord e a sud, notiamo che le prime quattro finestre sono più basse, più strette e più ravvicinate di quelle verso est, le quali corrispondono, invece, all'ampliamento operato da Francesco Talenti, capomastro a partire dalla metà del '300.
Arnolfo arriva a finire due campate e metà della nuova facciata.
La facciata fu smantellata nel 1587 quando il Granduca Francesco I de' Medici decise di costruirne una nuova modena e le statue superstiti che la decoravano sono oggi esposte nel Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
Alla morte d'Arnolfo, avvenuta intorno al 1310, i lavori subirono un rallentamento, per riprendere certamente nel 1331 quando i magistrati dell'Arte della Lana si assunsero la cura della costruzione. Nel 1334 fu nominato capomastro dell'Opera Giotto che si occupò prevalentemente della costruzione del campanile e morì tre anni dopo. A Giotto subentrò Andrea Pisano fino al 1348, anno della terribile peste che decimò la popolazione cittadina da 90.000 a 45.000 abitanti.
I lavori proseguirono fra interruzioni e riprese fino a quando, in seguito al concorso bandito nel 1367, fu accettato il modello definitivo della chiesa proposto da quattro architetti e quattro pittori, tra i quali Andrea di Bonaiuto, Benci e Andrea di Cione, Taddeo Gaddi e Neri di Fioravante.
Dal 1349 al '59 la direzione tocca a Francesco Talenti, che completa il Campanile e prepara un nuovo progetto coadiuvato (dal 1360 al '69) da Giovanni di Lapo Ghini. Nel 1378 fu ultimata la volta della navata centrale, e nel 1380 furono terminate le navate minori. Tra il 1380 ed il 1421 furono costruite le tribune e forse anche il tamburo della Cupola.
