Went for the scrappy look as i am overflowing with them! yikes. Also decided to make two instead of one so i could give them as a gift if i need to! Put the same fabric on the back but it is late and i couldn't get a good picture!

I played with a drunkard's path template today. I used it with some left over charms from a Love U charm pack.

Now to decide how to arrange the blocks.

Circles within circles.

This isn't sewn on yet. I like the way it makes the colors pop, but wonder if it is too bold.

a quick january finish; was really apprehensive cutting and sewing these large curves (first time). however, found a great course on Craftsy.com (Playing with Curves, with Ann Petersen), and followed her useful instructions. created the pattern on my own, but missed in the measurement and ended with a fold on each block. zig zagged stitched over it to hide them...somewhat! really happy with the results. binding it in pink/peach gives it just this extra punch I think.

My variation on a traditional Drunkard's Path block creates an energetic rhythm when done in black and white and red.

These are SO much easier than they look.

The key is to use lots of pins, and to start pinning from the center out.

Yay!

For baby Chance, my niece's freshly hatched little boy.

Block courtesy of my KBeeC ladies. Their blocks were perfect. My technique in making a perfectly seamed quilt? Not so much. But the end result is lovely.

Thanks ladies!

I wish I were a bit further along but that seems always to be the case. Just 2 blocks for each quilt to go! It is, of course, the fact that I decided to make myself a quilt at the same time that I'm making my partner a quilt, that is really slowing me down. But I regret nothing! I'd be very sad to send this away if I were only making the one.

Blocks measure 4 inches square and the quilt will finish at 12.5 x 16.5.

I hope you like it partner! I can't wait to get to the quilting part.. I'm itching for a bit of hand quilting.

Lap quilt about 50x70" using drunkard path block and black/white, white/black prints.

This one is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted. It's about 20 by 23 inches. The little squares are 1 and 1/2 inches.

Laura H. finished the binding on her gorgeous Drunkard's Path Quilt for the CEO club!

I realized, after looking at my photo from yesterday, that there was WAY too much pink going on in the mini quilts. I'm much much happier with the color distribution now. And marching along through the blocks. I hope you like it partner! Honestly, I'm kind of liking my twin quilt and am happy I decided to do it this way.

the-yellow house {Jill}'s colours for this quarter of the 3x6 bee were blue, green and white. She mentioned sea glass as an inspiration and noted that she liked lime greens and aqua-ish blues. It was hard to find fabrics in those tones that went together well (at least from my stash -- most of my lime greens were of a rather weird tone.) A couple of solids saved the day!

I made this block using the tutorial here at the blog Needles and Spatula. It was very easy (no pinning required and lots of room for error.) The hardest part was deciding how to arrange the squares. I thought that this arrangment would work well with the wonkiness of the circles and was different from the usual. I loved the result so much that I now have a plan to make an entire quilt of blocks like these using cool-toned shot cottons.

Here is Penny's variation on a Drunkard's Path. She turned it into a wall hanging for her travel trailer and finished it for the CEO club!

I took a class at DragonFly Quilting in Ottawa taught by Fran O'Neil to create this quilt top. Her patterns can be found on her website here: www.fransquilting.com/patterns.htm

A very challenging exercise in colour.
