I am finally getting somewhere. I have captured a reasonable crown..
I have 4 drops of red food colouring in Milk. This is in an eye dropper held at about 30 cms from the plate. The drop falls through a laser which arms the camera and focus.
the second drop cuts the laser beams and then a timer goes off and the the camera takes the images.
Using a canon A470 using a USB trigger.

This is an experiment using a fast shutter speed on the hv20. I got much better frame grabs from video taken at 1/2000 and 60fps but unfortunately my firewire port on the hv20 is broken and I can't upload it. The shutter speed maxed out at 1/500 for still shots in photo-mode, but I still managed to capture a few drops here and there.
Another one of Louis's creations. This one is a Drop Ship. When I saw what Louis had built I immediateley recognized it, and he proceeded to confirm what I thought by explaining the Drop Ship concept to me.
