The Marines are simulating a raid of Eisenhower Park in Long Island, N.Y., May 23. The event allowed area residents to walk through helicopters and view static displays of weapons. Yet another drop shot, in color this time.

Whenever I go to a Chinese buffet, I always have egg drop soup. I really like it. Lately I've been trying to duplicate some of my favorite dishes found at Chinese buffets and so I finally tried to make egg drop soup for here at home. As you can see, my first attempt was right on and it tasted like it was supposed to. To think I've loved this stuff for most of my life and it turned out so easy to make. I should have done this long ago.

I can add this recipe for Egg Drop Soup with the other Chinese buffet recipes I've perfected: Moo Shu Pork, Fried Rice and Button Mushrooms in Oyster Sauce. I'm going to attempt making fortune cookies tomorrow night and if I can come up with a recipe for General Tso's Chicken, I'll be all set!

The Stone Soup Project

The Name came from a parable that one of the project group heard when they were younger of some hungry travelers came to a village asking for food. But the Villagers would not share their food with the travelers, for times were difficult. So the travelers went to the center of the village, created a fire, and started to boil water in a large pot. One of the villagers became curious and asked what they were doing. He travelers said that they were making stone soup which always tastes wonderful, but stone soup with cabbage that would be hard to beat. The villager was willing to share just a bit of cabbage to help them out, so it was added to the soup. Other villagers became curious and the travelers again mentioned that their stone soup had not yet reached its full potential, perhaps a potato. So more and more villagers joined in, adding potatoes, onions, carrots, mushrooms, and even a bit of beef. Until a delicious and nourishing pot of soup was enjoyed by all through the magic of the stone soup.

This was a waste and overgrown site in 2006 that was situated in front of the homes on Orchard Lawns and the surrounding houses, and was left neglected and forgotten. In 2006 planning had being granted to build 200 hundred houses on the land, and due to the recession there was no more funding for building. The land was left and so began anti-social behaviour. All Edward Fitzpatrick could see when he looked out his window into the park was overgrowing, with weeds and dirt, so he set about cleaning an area. This met with meeting other people around the surrounding area and building relationships with all his neighbours.

Mathew Kelly who is one of the neighbours joined in and so began what is known as the Stone Soup Project and other neighbours and friends joined in also. I dropped in to see the project this morning 16th May 2015 and it is a credit to all that is involved. There are over 70 Trees and as many plants donated by the people that want members of their family that has passed on, each plant and tree is in memory to their Family or friends that has died. Long may they continue with their great community work.

Every drop counts!

So I finally did it today! Woke up early - and that too on a Saturday morning and headed out to the Indianapolis Museum of Art gardens to do some macro photography.

And it was an awesome learning experience. The first thing that I learnt was that the perfect spheres that the dew drops form are no match to the sprinkled water drops on grass. I also realized that looking out for the largest of drops doesn't lead anywhere!

IMA gardens was great as usual. There were a lot of Daffodils and I liked the normal yellow ones and the white and yellow ones (Narcissus 'Geranium'). The second one is pictured here.

A few people have also been asking me on who do I do these shots.. I have posted the normal view in the comments..

As usual, comments and criticism welcome!

This is a melted snowflake. I think I had the macro setting on, but I'm unsure.

Can you see my reflection in the window? How much talent does that take? LOL
