Per capita car ownership in Iceland is among the highest in the world at roughly 522 vehicles per 1,000 residents,[19] though ReykjavÃk is not severely affected by congestion. Several multi-lane highways (mainly dual carriageways) run between the most heavily populated areas and most frequently driven routes. Parking spaces are also plentiful in most areas. Public transportation consists of a bus system (called Strætó bs). Route 1 (the Ring Road) runs through the city outskirts and connects it to the rest of Iceland.
Driving home from taking Cory to play practice the other day. The clouds were so pretty, I couldn't help but snap a few pictures through the windshield. Do ignore the dirty windshield!
It was a bit chilly this morning after the rain yesterday. Driving gloves are a nice option..

We jumped on this man's taxi (a proper old Lada) and went to Geghard from Garni. He waited for us until we were done and then he drove us to Yerevan.
Forgive me for the short mosaic kick...
I love exploring Flickr. I could literally spend hours just going through photostreams, trying to learn a thing or two about high contrast black & whites, or effective architectural photography or cool texture photoprocessing in Photoshop. I'm hoping that by exploring Flickr I can expand my stylistic and technical limits.
In that frame of mind, I thought I'd conduct a little experiment akin to what I called "zen driving" back in my university days. Zen driving is a navigational technique one uses to get from point A to point B without any external references. One simply follows a vehicle until the moment when one must follow another vehicle. For some reason, I seem to recall this being part of "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". I once found an excellent Chinese food buffet using this technique.
In this particular application, the vehicles are my contacts' favorited pictures. I chose a recent addition to my contact list, Lindsey, to be my starting point. I went through her recent favorites and visited the photostream for the photographer I liked the most. I then picked my favorite shot of their photostream for June and repeated the process again until I had 16 unique photos. So in brief the process looked like this:
new photographer -> goto their fave list -> goto my fave of the faves -> goto my fave's author's photostream -> pick my fave of the author's June uploads -> goto their fave list... such that
Photographer #1 -> Faved Photographer #2
Photographer #2 -> Faved Photographer #3
Photographer #3 -> Faved Photographer #4
etc.
I'll try to do a similar mosaic every month from now on. I hope you enjoy these pics and go explore a few new photostreams.

I took this while driving from Hurst to Dallas, on highway 183. I had been hoping to take the train to Dallas, but the park and ride only allows you to park during the day. This made me very angry. I was really looking forward to being able to take the train to Dallas to see Cory. I'd still have had to drive to Hurst from Arlington (since there's no public transportation in--or to and from--Arlington), but that's a significantly shorter drive than from Arlington to Dallas.

Driving School with »Theorie In Tagen« – now I know, why they are driving like mad there in Wilhelmsburg. There seems to be a »Photoschool Crazy« with »Theory In Days« for Wilhelmsburg, too. See www.flickr.com/search/?q=hamburg%20wilhelmsburg
Very proud of herself (I was too!) and exclaiming 'driving is easy', Isla passed her driving test at Legoland Windsor!
You'll have to forgive me, this was taken by me, while driving, and sticking my hand up through the sunroof.
