DLR set 26 departs Shadwell station. These units are automated/driverless trams on a fairly extensive network around London.

h96: Vancouver SkyTrain with its Expo, Millennium and Canada Lines are the longest automated driverless light rapid transit system in the world, connecting Vancouver with the cities of Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey and Richmond.

With over 700,000 Australians unemployed, the R.A.C. and the Western Australian Government obviously think there should be more - so let's add bus drivers!

 

So they started a trial of a "driverless" bus this week on a public road in South Perth.

 

The bus is kept to 15 KPH, has to have authorisation from the quaintly named "Chaperone" to pass a parked truck, and to make a right turn.

 

It can only traverse this specific 2KM route, so really it's all a bit Toytown. But the intention is clear - get rid of bus drivers.

 

And just ten days later the trials have been suspended due to ununreliable GPS signal (18 Sept).

The Toulouse metro has driverless trains, meaning you can sit at the front and take photos of the tunnels.

 

A few days in Toulouse, for an Esperanto conference. Mostly in a dull industrial area on the edge of town, but with occasional trips to more interesting bits.

The Hong Kong International Airport Automated People Mover is driverless train that operates in the basement of Hong Kong International Airport, to ferry passengers between the main terminal and the boarding gates that are a looooong way away. You can read more about the system on my blog:
