Formerly part of the Manchester to Sheffield route over Woodhead, the remaining branch to Glossop and Hadfield sees little in the way of locomotive movements, and less so in daylight, so this visit was most welcome.
This was actually the second trip along the branch, the loco having run to Hadfield and back to Guide Bridge earlier before completing a repeat run.

A former Green Line Routemaster coach is seen here relegated to driver training duties on Chiswick High Road in April 1985.
This bus would later re enter service under Stagecoach operation with the East London business , and would be repainted back into original Green Line colours. In this guise it was available for shows and private hire though did make many forays into service, usually on the 15 where it worked right upto the end of Routemaster operation. It is now preserved.
Ten behoeve van het wegleren van machinisten in opleiding werd er op deze dag met het voormalig motorpostrijtuig 3030 meerdere rondjes door Noord Holland gereden.
For drivertraining, annex route learning, former postalunit 3030 was on its way through the nort western part from The Netherlands.
Another Routemaster in the same location as the last upload, though this time its one of the former British Airways RMA class. Built to ferry passengers from central London to Heathrow Airport, these Routemasters were forward entrance and towed a trailer that was loaded with passengers luggage.
When BA's need for these vehicles passed, all 65 passed to London Transport where they were used on staff transport and driver training. The latter duties neccessitated the removal of the staircase, to be replaced with an instructors seat and its in this form that RMA29 is seen on Chiswick High Road, Gunnersbury in 1985.

Taylors Reliance of Meppershall were noted for their pink livery, but the family-owned company ceased trading in 2002 with a closing fleet that consisted entirely of Plaxton Paramount-bodied Volvos and Tigers. This was the oldest Volvo, taken over from Sheenway in 1991, but had been modified in typical Taylors fashion with a Paramount III front panel.
