SVR Footplate Experience. Ex-GWR tank engine 1450 leaves Bewdley across Wribbenhall Viaduct and heads, away from camera, towards Bridgnorth on the Severn Valley Railway on a rainy and windswept morning on Thursday May 29th 2014. The photograph was taken from the comparative dryness of the wooden footbridge at Bewdley railway station. The steam engine, on loan to the SVR in 2014, was being used for the supreme driver experience, running up and down the heritage line between Bewdley and Bridgnorth. These kind of trains were once a common sight on the Great Western branchline scene.

A rather nice surprise greeted me at Hemel Hempstead Bus Station on this day back in 1995.
This lovely old work-horse of a Bedford, dating from 1972-3, and with its superb Plaxton Panarama Elite bodywork belonged to Luton & District's Hemel Bus as their Driver Trainer Vehicle.

And finally, from another angle - the BMW 5 series estate of Strathclyde Police RPU, showing further alterations made to the base model which was a Hong Kong traffic police vehicle. These include; changed lightbar to UK style solid blue. Additional emergency lighting to wing mirrors and radiator grille. Application of force crest to bonnet.
This angle also shows the rear of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) DTU of the training department (albeit somewhat blurred). The red writing along the tops of the rear doors reads “Driver Under Instruction”. Again, this code 3 model, initially a standard Oxford Diecast plain white Transit, is representative of the real life SF59 LUE based at Motherwell (West Central) Divisional HQ.

Shots taken at Surry Hills on the afternoon on 20 September. You could be forgiven if you thought the line was open such was the frequency of trams. Testing, training and route familiarisation continues
Seen attending Showbus in 1992, when it was still at Woburn Abbey, this is Luton & District's LN13, a very early Leyland National, which it had inherited from London Country North West. It is seen carrying L&D's somewhat home-spun livery.
