DB Cargo Class 67 No. 67005 "Queen's Messenger" crosses Broadbottom Viaduct as it works the 0Z50 09:41 Peak Forest Up Sidings to Peak Forest Up Sidings route learning trip on 17th August 2020.

Having completed a second run along the former Woodhead line to Hadfield, this rare daylight locomotive working was heading back to Peak Forest via Stockport and Hazel Grove.

Its passenger carrying days over with, this Park Royal bodied standard Atlantean from the GM Buses fleet arrives back at Atherton depot with its trainee driving and instructor sat on the seat provided next to the cab. The chimney in the background once bore the initials LUT in gold lettering as this was the headquarters of Lancashire United Transport, though latterly it had become the head office of GM Buses west area.

For the Bus Photo Critique group this is one for you to rip to pieces if you so please.

I'm torn with this shot as I do quite like the chimney in the background which has been a feature of so many LUT photos over the years and also the telegraph pole with its many wires gives an insight to the vast telephone system used by GM Buses.

I'm no photoshop master (Crispy is the clone king) and this has been done to instill a little discusion and constructive critiscism and above all a little light hearted fun.

Sydney light rail - Bus driver training at Kingsford.

During a quick trip to the end of the line today I caught up with some bus driver training. So I took pictures of buses for a change!

I snapped a quick couple of pictures whilst training to drive buses with London Country in 1972. I passed my test in this RT, RT4162.

A few brigades have bought brand new vehicles specifically for Emergency Fire Appliance Driver training roles rather than using surplus appliances. Buckinghamshire had S852 AWL, with unusual bodywork by Chambers Engineering that resembles a normal appliance but with no pump or ladder. It was caught in action in Buckingham, being pursued by what appears to be a genuine Lotus Cortina.

Brand new Network Rail track machines are seen on the siding at Tuxford on the High Marnham test track. All four of these track machines were brought in by road and put on the tracks at High Marnham.

From back to front are: Tamper DR73121, Tamper DR73122, Ballast Regulator DR77909, Tamper DR73120.

They are all undergoing commissioning and driver training before going to work down south.
