Waiting for spring to break is a state of mind I try to avoid. It often comes almost by surprise anyhow, after heavy rain or a stretch of days when the nights stop falling below freezing. But the woods is slow to shake. Deep stream hollows and shadowy forests hang on heavy, hide from sunlight, sift in snow still over my knees. Since I'm 6'4", that'd probably be deeper for you. It's physically exhausting, sure, but I'm not always prepared for the emotional weight. It feels good to feel deeply, a way to be I'd never surrender. That comes with a gravity you'd do good to resist, build some muscle to rise against a downward draw. When I wake to discover nothing but mud and new green, it'll feel even better knowing I didn't give in to hibernation.

Eugene Draw / performance name "Dr Draw.... as he reached the final bars of his impassioned rendition of Shubert's Ave Maria at last weekend's BuskerFest, bow strings completely shredded. Awesome to witness his talent !! Technically no longer a busker, his was the only act that did not "pass the hat", so the assumption has to be that he was being paid by the festival, though he started out as a busker on the streets of Toronto. He now has a beginner's thriving career.

I am being taught the theory of peace. I need only choose to listen. Birdsong draws back my wandering attention and re-calls me to task. I chose birdsong as my wake-up call, my chosen reminder.
Theory is just that. First comes a small dawning. Practice will follow. There will be no shortage of opportunities. My only option is how long this will take.
Everyone believes in what he made, for it was made by his believing it. The world must be looked at differently. Nothing real changes, what seems to change is not real. How often do i choose changing illusions?
I choose how i would see the world, i do it in my sleep and in my waking. I do it unconsciously although i mistake it for awareness. This choice is a mighty strength awaiting my true understanding of its powerfulness.
You are not where you are by accident.
In every one you see but the reflection of what you choose to have him be to you. I can choose to unite with him and join him in innocence and peace.
I must lay down all else but the vision of peace. Peace is impossible to those who look on war. I must choose to see peace. It is there, seen differently, seen through quiet eyes, through forgiving eyes.
Peace can only be shared.
Time is only there for learning purposes. There is no doubt that we will reach our goal.

Day 170 Year 2 Mac (the duck) is fascinated by his likeness for this FGR challenge today. As an illustrator, portraits are one of my main gigs. So this was perfect for me today.
Of course, I never usually draw myself. This portrait was done using colored pencils.

I'm not sure if you guys know there's a tradition in China called "Draw lots"(抓周 zhua zhou). That means when the baby is one year old, need to choose the thing they love from the things which are put in front of them that will symbolize his future, so that the parents can know what the talent of their child is. That's pretty funny. PS! Mine was a ruler! :)
With a former C&NW AC4400CW in the lead, a Union Pacific coal train drops down the 2% grade out of Tunnel 15 and is about to enter Tunnel 14, near Crescent, Colorado, on March 30, 2002. The rear of the train is still in Tunnel 17, while the mid-train DPUs are on a fill approaching Tunnel 16. The large cut is the former Tunnel 17, now daylighted, and this horseshoe is in a location called South Draw where South Boulder Creek flows north toward Boulder Creek.
