I always wanted to try using the animation of unholstering a rifle to unsheath another :).

Alright back to working on actually fixing the problems...

Day 89/365

In Montmartre in Paris in an attic, I found this portrait of a saucy looking woman, the artist chose, though the woman is wearing a shirt, to draw her breasts in anyway in surprising detail with the nipples showing and everything. Obviously I couldn’t resist photobombing. In his mind (or was it a woman) was the artist thinking, well, there may be a shirt here but lets also stick in some boob?

Here's one of the strays I mentioned in the previous photo that wandered across the Rio Grande, possibly hoping to enjoy a peaceful afternoon lounging by the river. The cowboy seen in that photo soon rode by and drove him back to Mexico.

I found it interesting that, with a stunning canyon to view simply by looking to their right, this group found it more fascinating to watch this critter that can easily be seen throughout west Texas. Then I realized that the same view was available to my left, yet I was photographing them.

When i dropped my first name in late 1993 and started writing GES, I really hated drawing the letter G for quite some time... but now I love it. I often times dont draw complete sketches... just G's. (useless facts)

What do you do when the weather is terrible during the summer holidays? Yup, you challenge people to indoor duels. First up, Spider-Man.

Just between a school and a temple, there was a metal fence wiith painted cartoon on it.

Waiting for spring to break is a state of mind I try to avoid. It often comes almost by surprise anyhow, after heavy rain or a stretch of days when the nights stop falling below freezing. But the woods is slow to shake. Deep stream hollows and shadowy forests hang on heavy, hide from sunlight, sift in snow still over my knees. Since I'm 6'4", that'd probably be deeper for you. It's physically exhausting, sure, but I'm not always prepared for the emotional weight. It feels good to feel deeply, a way to be I'd never surrender. That comes with a gravity you'd do good to resist, build some muscle to rise against a downward draw. When I wake to discover nothing but mud and new green, it'll feel even better knowing I didn't give in to hibernation.

Made for little Noell who starts to draw so he could collect his artwork from very beginning. It is made as an alteration to JCasa's great list taker tutorial which is an excellent starting point for all wallets, maps etc.

A piece in my stud. This is from Monster Show 3.

My resolutions (not especially for 2011)

- To be more kindly with my mirror image

- Learn to draw from real life

- Sleep more

- Be more impatient

I didn’t realize how much competitors in the rodeo pay attention to their “draw”. Evidently, even the calves have a history of how they act. Fast, slow, break right or left. I’ll probably never get to photograph calf #46 again put I hope I do. Most calves break right. But because of the way this arena is set up, it’s better for me if they break left. It would be nice to be able to anticipate that but I have to faith I ever will be able to.
