Remarkable shenanigans on the 2025 railway. 153333 and 153913 draw into platform 6 at Crewe with the 11:56 Carmarthen - Manchester Piccadilly, operating vice a 197. They were losing time badly as they surged up the Marches, having no hope in hell at keeping up with the Mark 4/197 timings. I wanted to capture Crewe's internal infrastructure and passengers milling around, contrasting the big 'main line' station ambiance with the heritage 153s rocking up.

This October, we're celebrating The Big Draw with lots of fun family weekend workshops. Adults and children can enjoy discovering new ways to make drawings. Here are some of our visitors taking part in our Easy Sundays workshops, created in partnership with the University for the Creative Arts.

EDM #29 - Draw something architectural...I wanted to impose the footprint of my house on a gridded background as you would see in a geographic map... and relate that to the water to the west and woods to the east....I wanted to combine the looseness of a sketch with the rigidity of a grid within the parameters of a sketchbook. I learned a lot from doing this, but it isn't quite what I saw in my head. I somehow lost the 'looseness'...'something architectural'....

The very first The Open Draw summer weekend with mini workshops, drawing activities and performance art on 21-22 June 2014 was a huge success. It was the closing of the first season of building a community around drawing and illustration. It was also the first time some of the finest talents of this community joined together to create a group exhibition.
