Second day of the year and I've resorted to taking photos at work....could be a challenge for me to come up with worthy photos for our group all year! That being said; This time of year tons of folks are trying to do the 'right thing(s)' for their health and well being....my professional opinion: go with the stuff on the left of the photo. Good health to everyone this year!
i took pics for an hour today, procrastinating my work. i am also way pissed that once again, by doing the right thing, i seem to have been taken advantage of, and thus, may be down one friend. bleeeehhh.
As a card-carrying Tennessee Squire, I had to go with this car. Anybody who uses an empty bottle of Old No. 7 as the overflow tank has to be doing the right thing.
Now, if it WASN'T empty and he drained the radiator into it, that would be heresy!

A few dozen people, the majority Jews, turned out at the JFRE (Jewish Federation Real Estate) “Legends and Leaders” breakfast on October 21, 2022. to protest the planned 76ers Arena in Chinatown.
With signs, banners, songs and chants, the participants challenged the predatory development schemes being peddled by David Adelman and Josh Harris, 76ers Arena proponents and billionaire developers.
The event is billed as a chance to “network and shmooze with Philadelphia’s top real estate developers and professionals,” but it is a shameless attempt to sell an Arena to other Jewish developers and investors with apparently no recognition that Chinatown, the last remaining community of color in Center City Philadelphia and one of the last few vital and thriving Chinatowns on the East Coast is an asset and a treasure.
We say: shame! A shonde!
• As Jews, we oppose a 76ers Arena being built in Chinatown without regard to community needs or desires.
• We support community demands for a fair process and proof that there is long-term community benefit involved: both for Chinatown and Philadelphia.
We say to JFRE: Do The Right Thing. People Over Profit. No More Sacrifice Zones. No short-term bonanzas for investors with long-term costs shouldered by communities of color. No theft of beloved community. #No Arena in Chinatown!
Legitimate community Jewish Legends and Leaders spoke—people who truly represent ethical and principled investment in long-term community well-being.

I wonder if our president would call this the "Holy Bible", like he calls the Islamist's Koran - the "Holy Khorraan" (with a practiced roll of the tongue) - as if he is devoted to that religion instead of Christianity, which he has publicly stated his allegiance.
I am afraid that he has lied about his core beliefs - Can we trust this man to do the right thing when he thinks no one is watching?

we had lots of rain last week. made quite an impression upon the level of white rock lake. it was over its banks by yards. it made quite another impression as well. what are we doing? rains are supposed to renew. restore. refresh. they are supposed to bring life. if that is what they were trying to do, then where did these piles of *shit* come from? and why? what are we doing? white rock lake is a gem of a park in the center of dallas and look at what we do to it. why? why are we so lazy that we cannot do the right thing? throw your crap in a recycling bin? a garbage can at least? i hear all the time about how we have too much government. about how people will do the right thing. i think not. i think people are lazy and instead of doing the right thing, they will do what is easiest. what will give them the most reward for the least effort. as a group, we are bernie madoff. i hear about personal responsibility all the time. is this it? way to go us. us should be so proud.
While doing the right thing may refer to how to live ethically, we can expand this definition to include doing the right thing for your body, mind, and soul.

If this story were told in reverse, three people would still be alive. Fifteen year old Lindy Mason is reported missing during a Vermont blizzard. After a brief investigation, authorities deem her a runaway. After all, her father is an abusive alcoholic. Lulled by the comforts of rural anonymity, Jillian Duncan believes she's doing her best to singlehandedly raise two rambunctious teenage sons. One early spring morning, the family dog makes a bizarre discovery that will alter all of their lives. The night Lindy went missing, she was last seen in the Duncans' basement dubbed by the local teenagers as the Cheech room. It smells of marijuana, vanilla, and puberty but reeks of a deadly secret that can't possibly be kept. For every cup you brew with a Keurig machine you get a little cup that goes toward creating a new mountain of plastic in a landfill somewhere near you. What to do? How about using that cup to sprout new plants this Spring? It already has coffee grounds in it for compost. Now if Keurig was smart they would make that little cup so that it would biodegrade as the plant grows. They would be doing the right thing. With the right advertizing it would improve their image and profitability.

we succumbed to fear of old age, future, sickness, and got some plans ahead. something we are not too good at doing. hopefully, we are doing the right thing.
After days of rain in Birmingham, had a day off, so we headed to Stratford-upon-Avon.
Had a walk through the Stratford-upon-Avon Recreation Ground (aka The Rec as I used to call it).
Been years since I've walked along the River Avon down here.
Headed down to the bridge at the far end again. The crossed it, and walked up to the RSC.

This week the fate of Immigration Reform is in the hands of the House of Representatives. On Wednesday, July 10th, all House Republicans will meet to determine the future of 11 million families, whether they will block a path to citizenship or support the will of the majority of Americans.
Today, Tuesday July 9th, Floridians in 6 cities visited their Republican Representatives and had a moment of prayer to give them the strength to do the right thing in support of Floridian families, and stand against extremists members of their party who are promoting anti-immigrant sentiments
