The aircraft was completed in Nov-80 and stored at Long Beach until Jul-84 when it was sold to Chemco International Leasing as N3016Z and leased to Zambia Airways. They ceased operations in Dec-94 and the aircraft was returned to Chemco and stored. It was sold to Sky Leasing in Dec-95. It was originally allocated the registration G-DMON but this wasn't taken up and it was leased to Monarch as G-DMCA in Mar-96. It operated it's last service from Orlando-Sanford to Manchester on 26/27-Oct-01 and was retired and stored at MAN the following month. After more than two years in storage it was finally broken up at Manchester in Nov/Dec-03. The complete nose section is preserved at Manchester's Runway Viewing Park. (Updated Feb-18).

G-DMCA McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 [48266] (Monarch Airlines) Manchester-Ringway~G 04/05/1997. Broken up 05-12-03. Cockpit and forward fuselage now preserved here.

Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 25-Oct-23.

The is one of a series of photo's taken during the break-up of G-DMCA, Monarch Airlines only DC-10 (the rest are already in the 'Manchester 2003' and 'Dougles DC-10' sets on Flickr, I must have missed this one!).

The forward fuselage section of this aircraft is on display at Manchester's (MAN) 'Runway Viewing Park'. This shows the aircraft, minus engines and other bits, just prior to it's break-up. The sharp eyed among you may notice that it's a 'DC-10-80' (the product of a Monarch Engineer with a sense of humour and a felt tip pen some months earlier!)

The only 'DC-10-80', the '3' having been turned into an '8' by an engineering comedian with a felt tip pen. It was parked on the end of Manchester's 'Pier C' for a while in spring 2003.

It has been brought to our attention by multiple people, designers and customers, that the shoe on Gothcore sold by CULT looks too similar to our mesh. Upon investigation, they are in fact using copybotted mesh that has matching verts (I know my mesh). This is an open letter to the CULT brand, you must remove this item immediately. If you do not want a DMCA filed against you, you must disclose where you got the mesh from. If you do not do this today, we will move forward regardless with you as the sole source of infringement.

We have contacted the brand in-world but felt it important to share with other creators so they can take a closer look at the brands meshes.

If they are doing this to us they are probably doing this to other brands. From what I've heard it's not the first time the brand is being accused of this behavior.

I received this Flickr mail today and actually thought for a moment it might have been legitimate. Oh, no! What if I had actually violated someone's copyright? I don't want to do that!

Then I remembered... I don't post other people's stuff as my own. If I do use a picture as a backdrop, I always post a link to that creator's original, cite them, and thank them. To date, no one has objected.

I looked more closely at the link and noticed that, not only did it not link to an official governmental domain, but it linked to a .dev domain, which indicates it is used by developers for testing code. Someone set up this operation in haste, trusting that many of the potential targets do not understand URLs and domains.

Not only is there no Flickr user registered as Heady Potato, but the user icon doesn't have a drop-down like legitimate ones do. Perhaps Flickr already whacked Heady Potato's account for sending phish-y emails.

If you receive a Flickr mail like this, do not click on any links. Delete it with a grin, knowing that you beat a scammer today.
