The silhouetted man in the hat was what caught my eye at first. I jumped from my cafe seat, squatted behind him and shot. Flinders St Station is in the background. I tried a new app for the first time on this shot - Trimaginator. Then I added a few layers in Stackables, adjusted a little in my old favourite Snapseed. Finally overlaid it with DistressedFX. Hope you like it!

Why are you still crying?
Your pain is now through
Please forget those teardrops
Let me take them for you
The love you are blessed with
This world's waiting for
So let out your heart please, please
From behind that locked door
-George Harrison
As always, a photo each day for 365 days. All shot and edited using Apps on my iPhone 5.
The photo was taken using the camera KitCam for iPhone and saved as a TIFF file before any editing. The original image can be found below.
First of all I used Photoshop Touch to edit the image. The edits were made by applying the Old Sepia filter and adding a vignette by altering the lighting to the image. Finally I used Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the HDR overlay and the Hera Texture.
The original photo was taken late this afternoon. It is of St Bartholomew's Church in the Binley area of Coventry. The church was built between 1771-3 for William, Lord Craven of the nearby Combe Abbey (another Grade I Listed Building that falls just outside the Coventry listed building district). It now serves the parish of Binley. The current Church replaced an earlier one which was was known as St. Swithin’s. Mention of an ordained minister connected with Binley dates back to the late 16th century. The most notable features in the Church stand as a reminder of links to the Craven family. Their coat of arms can be seen above the sanctuary, and the Craven Chapel was used in the past almost exclusively by their family & household.
The Church is classed as a Grade I listed building. The Church is number 7 on my list of 19 (Grade I) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.

The photo was taken using the camera App Huemore for iPhone. The original image can be found below.
First of all I used the app Handy Photo to edit the image. The edits were made by cloning away the Car from the street, the Street sign, the sign above the end shop and the alarm box on the front of one of the the other buildings. Next I used the app called Mextures to apply some lighting and textures to the image. The Layers that I applied were, Vignette, Mulberry, Ford Screen, Leaker and the Sunflower Overlay. Finally I used Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Egret overlay and the Vanilla Texture.
The original photo was taken this afternoon on the corner of Upper Spon Street Coventry. The image is of a selection of what were originally Medieval Houses that are known now as Numbers 119 to 123 (consecutive). The Timber framed houses were originally built in the 15th Century. They have had a lot of alterations over time, that include rendering in cement and also being faced in brick. These houses were originally owned in the Middle Ages by the Office of Treasurer for Coventry Priory. They were sold to the Coventry Mercers Guild in the 16th century. The Mercers Guild sold on the houses in the 17th Century. Since then there have been various uses for the buildings, including some being still used as private houses, while some were converted into shops and at one stage Number 123 was used as a Pub called the Black Swan.
These buildings (as a group) are classed as Grade II* listed. They are number 23 on my list of 24 (Grade II*) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.
I've been eyeing these old barns near my home for quite some time. They're tricky to photograph because they sit in a field between an interstate highway and busy-ish state route. Plus there are power lines galore around the barns. I was able to get this perspective that hides the roads and I was able to edit out the power lines. All on my iPhone.
Apps used: ProHDR, Snapseed, DistressedFX, Dynamic Light, Blender, Retouch and Filterstorm. Over-the-top perhaps.
An iPhone 6+ image of my tiny flower buds that I ran through Poll Wirld and processed with Distressed FX & True Film, to explore their new update.

Genesee Brewing Company is an American brewery located along the Genesee River in Rochester, New York. From 2000 to 2009, the company was known as the High Falls Brewing Company. In 2009, High Falls was acquired by the capital investment firm KPS Capital. Together with also newly acquired Labatt USA, KPS merged the two companies as North American Breweries. Along with this change, High Falls Brewery changed its name back to the original "Genesee Brewing Company" operating under the North American Breweries name.
According to 2012 figures, North American Breweries was the sixth largest brewing company in America by sales volume.[1]
Aug. 2, 2025: Image taken at Conejo Valley Cars and Coffee event at The Oaks shopping center in Thousand Oaks, California. Image taken with bluristic iPhone app then textured with DistressedFX and Snapseed. 016
I wanted to post an iPhone photo every day for my 365 project but I wanted to add this photo that I shot with my Nikon to this year's project. (Translation: All of today's iPhone photos were terrible.)
This photo was edited on my iPad. No flash was used....I just waited for the light.
Can somebody please identify this flower for me? I used to know just about every botanical name but I'm getting old and I can't remember crap anymore! Thanks! For some reason, the word "parrot" keeps coming to mind but I'm probably wrong.
Blurred image of a VW Beetle at the July 5, 2025, Conejo Valley Cars and Coffee event in Thousand Oaks, California. Original image taken the Bluristic iPhone app, then giving texture with DistressedFX and Snapped.

The photo was taken using the the iPhone camera App Formatt Hitech Filters. The original image can be found below.
To begin with, I used an App to take the picture that included a Live software Filter. The filter that I used was called a Neutral Density filter. This gave an effect of a slight tint to help take away the glare from the sunlight. For the first part of the edits I used the App called Handy Photo to delete the 'To Let' sign and the two bollards on the pavement outside the cottages, then clone the background in place of them. I also used the same App to crop the image and apply an Old Photo filter. Next I used the App Scratchcam to add some scratches and texture. I then used an App called Distressed FX to add more texture to the picture using the Cole overlay and the Lade Texture. Finally I passed the image through an App called Alt Photo using the Technicolor (Three-Strip) Vintage color filter.
The original photo is of the Lychgate Cottages (originally one property named Lychgate House, now split into three separate properties) that stand opposite the Old funeral entrance of the Holy Trinity Church Graveyard. The timber used for the cottages dates back to approx 1415 but the building was probably constructed about 1648 according to local records.

The photo was taken using the camera App ExposerGL for iPhone. The original image can be found below.
First of all I used a filter from the app ExposerGL called Miami Sunset, this was to give the sky a golden look. Next I used an app called Dynamic Light to brighten up the building a little using the Normal preset. I then used an app called Mystic to crop the image into a square and add a filter called El Paso. Finally I used my old favorite Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Cole overlay and the Lazarus Texture.
The original photo was taken early this evening. It is of the old (first) Bablake school building in Coventry. The building dates back to the 14th century and was originally built to house priests of the adjacent St John's church (see my post from 27th April for details of the Church). Bablake School was founded in this building by Queen Isabella who gave the land for the School as well as the Church. This makes the school one of the oldest still functioning Schools in England. There have been expansions to this site over the years including land being granted to the school by Edward, the Black Prince (Queen Isabella's Grandson). The school was rebuilt in 1560. This building remained as the site of Bablake School until the 1890s when Bablake began to move to its current site in Coundon Road about a Mile away.
The building is classed as a Grade I listed building. The building is number 10 on my list of 19 (Grade I) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.
I'm an old Bob Dylan fan and as I haven't taken a shot of coffee for a little while I thought this would be appropriate for today's theme!
"One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go.
To the valley below"
From Dylan's brilliant 1976 album Desire.
