This is what happens when I'm not 100% focused on a video meeting - I notice other odd things and photograph them. 😜
I can't say I give my all
But tonight, I'd risk it all
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Are you down to be
Are you down to be a distraction. baby?
But don't distract me, let me ask you baby
Do you, do you, do you do you wanna be
A distraction, baby?
Do you, do you, do you do you wanna be
Yeah, yeah
She has a lot of work to do! But with so many wonderful things around, who can keep focused! The wrapping can wait, she has some friends to spend some time with.

CAC buildings in Valencia, again, sorry ... :)
All that glitters in Valencia is certainly not gold. However, someone is making this something shine so brightly that it virtually outshines everything else - some good and some bad, some superfluous and some not, not at all.
Large is definitely better.
My eye got caught by a gorgeous head, so now there are two SD boys around here. As yet nameless but oh what a face <3 My distraction...

During the summer this year there had been a lot of secondary smoke in Vancouver, British Columbia. At one point over 550 forest fires were active in the province and the weather patterns brought the smoke to the coast. Though at times there were health risks it all made for splendid images.
During my exposes this unexpected guest came into the frame.
The smoke was so think the sun was completely obscured before making it to the horizon.

Here's your Wednesday abstraction distraction. Nature's beauty blurs the line between a photograph and a painting.

There ARE ways to distract him if this happens.... I would not suggest any of these methods this Sunday, however........Just go with it ;-))
My team is out of it, so I don't have a dog in this fight. But I'm a Manning fan so I'll have to root for the Broncos. Whoever you root for, have fun Sunday!!!

'May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.'

Happy new year to all flickeranians! Lucky enough to have warmer temps and snow so thought about detail as a theme, so went out with the F3 and MicroNikkor to look closely. Hope everyone had a safe holiday, and thanks again for a great year and looking forward to the one ahead!
if the self-portrait (painting) is not so good, you need a little distraction.
Thanks for the visit have a wonderful day.

Cornell's Birds of the World explains in a discussion of response to predators, "In urgent situations, adults use distraction displays running in a crouched posture away from intruder. While running, adults may also depress their tails to ground, spread their rectrices [tail feathers], or flap their wings to feign injury. Sometimes they pause and lie flat on ground while continuing to flap their wings, or draw their wings in and crouch." While this is a highly cropped photo, I'm sure the nest was nearby and this behavior was directed at us. After a couple displays we moved on.
The light for this display is on the nude figure, where the focus is on "what's important". The panels in the shadows, are distractions. In other words, it's my opinion that we are often distracted from what's truly important.
