I've often heard the train going when in Toronto's Distillery District, this time I was on the Via Rail train and on the rail side looking at the historic neighbourhood.
Just east of the foot of Parliament Street in Toronto.
I found this at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, KY. Couldn't pass up the lighting and the textures.
Once an industrial area built around the distillery business, it has been preserved and turned into a Toronto tourist attraction housing pubs, bakeries, coffee shops, and numerous artists' studios.

Balblair Distillery can look the part of the moody Highlands whisky lair. In truth it is a friendly place, off the beaten track of distilleries in Scotland, as those things go, and all the more delightful for not being pretentious. It's pagoda tower is good evidence that it was designed by the famous Charles Doig. And it stills uses the water from the original source, Ault Dearg burn. ©Jim Richardson

Toronto is the provincial capital of Ontario. With a recorded population of 2,731,571 in 2016, it is the most populous city in Canada and the fourth most populous city in North America. It was designated as the capital of the province of Ontario in 1867 during Canadian Confederation. The city proper has since expanded past its original borders through both annexation and amalgamation to its current area of 630.2 km2 (243.3 sq mi).
The diverse population of Toronto reflects its current and historical role as an important destination for immigrants to Canada. More than 50 percent of residents belong to a visible minority population group, and over 200 distinct ethnic origins are represented among its inhabitants. While the majority of Torontonians speak English as their primary language, over 160 languages are spoken in the city.
Toronto is a prominent centre for music, theatre, motion picture production, and television production, and is home to the headquarters of Canada's major national broadcast networks and media outlets. Its varied cultural institutions, which include numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities, attract over 43 million tourists each year. Toronto is known for its many skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, the CN Tower.

Located east of downtown, it contains numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops housed within heritage buildings of the former Gooderham and Worts Distillery. The 13 acres (5.3 ha) district comprises more than forty heritage buildings and ten streets, and is the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial architecture in North America.
The district was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.
Showing the eastern of the $23,000.000 upgrade to the Augusta Distillery in Augusta, Kentucky. Makers of a very expensive single barrel bourbon that's named after Capt Buckner, a Revolutionary War Hero. A huge first class distillery that's located in a repurposed manufacturing facility. Located in the Ohio River Valley some 40 plus miles upriver from Cincinnati.
Took a tour of the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas last weekend. It was an interesting 1 hour tour where we even got to dip the bottles in wax to prepare them to be sent out to retail stores. Afterwards we did a tasting of their bourbons. My favorite of the three we tried was the single barrel. You can find out more at www.garrisonbros.com
The Deanston distillery outside Stirling, Scotland began in 1785 as a cotton mill and in 1967 was transformed into a scotch distillery. It’s a working factory and is open to the public for guided tours.
Stitzel–Weller Distillery is a former distillery located in Shively, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1935, sold in 1972, and closed in 1992. It produced a number of notable brands, and since 2014 it has served as a public tourism site for Bulleit Bourbon, as part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The tall smokestack at the center of the campus sports the Old Fitzgerald brand. In 1999, Heaven Hill bought the brand and began distilling it at Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY., a short distance from here. Kingsbarns Distillery a whisky distillery in a restored nineteenth century farm. Its got an unusual style looking like an old fort with its miniature fortified towers. Its has the original doocot which I didn't have time to check out when I visited but would love to check out further when I go again.
