MOMA is open and it’s grand. As much as I miss “normal” it’s pretty nice to have our museums less crowded. Enjoy while you can. God willing we’ll all be able to travel again soon and then we’ll be complaining about “normal”. Ha, ha!

Swallow at rest on the wires at Stutton in the late evening. No doubt just arrive from its long migration from South Africa.

Cousins Mrs Chaffinch and Mrs Goldfinch. Mr Chaffinch was around but couldn't keep his balance on the bird feeder... :-)

Heading back to the central coast to celebrate 33 years of marriage with my best friend and love of my life. ♥️ I’ll be back next week to see all your treasures.

Distance ain't just / the miles.

These parakeets were sitting on a slanting supporting wire of a piller.

The rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also known as the ring-necked parakeet, is a medium-sized parrot in the genus Psittacula, of the family Psittacidae. It has disjunct native ranges in Africa and South Asia, and is now introduced into many other parts of the world where feral populations have established themselves and are bred for the exotic pet trade.

The rose-ringed parakeet is sexually dimorphic. The adult male sports a red and black neck ring, and the hen and immature birds of both sexes either show no neck rings, or display shadow-like pale to dark grey neck rings.

🎼: I am a Rock ~ Simon & Garfunkel~

A winter's day

In a deep and dark December

I am alone

Gazing from my window to the streets below

On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow

I am a rock

I am an island

I've built walls

A fortress deep and mighty

That none may penetrate

I have no need of friendship, friendship causes pain

It's laughter and it's loving I disdain

I am a rock

I am an island

Don't talk of love

But I've heard the word before

It's sleeping in my memory

I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died

If I never loved I never would have cried

After hearing that Q303 had one of the five remaining un-rebuilt MAC’s, I made the hour long drive to Augusta. After waiting for about five minutes I could see a headlight off in the distance. So I laid down and shot a few pictures of it before making the chase back west.

New York subway is a magical place with many paradoxes. There is always little light but it is never really night. It's a crowdy world but often human distance between people is really wide.

Waiting for the Summer..

Veramente la distanza tra un ombrellone e l'altro, mi sembrava quella di tutti gli anni...

I was testing the new 800mm with Wiley. It's crazy when you have to increase the distance because your subject is less than 6m away... 😂 ... but it works (Squirrels-2021-3803.jpg)

distance 253 meter - what kind of buzzard is there ? I prepare camera and lens from single to 3shots per second.

Riegersburg, Steiermark, Austria. The uncomfortable weather did not reach the impressive castle but was visible from the distance.

Lond distance shots of a juvenile Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo). Showing a lot of white on underside, tail & head. Typical of a juvenile, they are know to be confused ID as a RLB.

This shot was taken at distance, from a boat on the tempisque river, in the Palo-verde. Our sharp-eyed guide spotted this 60cm long lizard basking on a fallen tree trunk, where the jungle met the waters edge.

I've heard these referred to as the Jesus Christ lizard, due to it's ability to run on two legs across the surface of the water, no doubt aided by those wide hind-feet.

I'm cropping heavily here & I'm not completely convinced that I've got my framing right here, as I've cut off half of it's tail. All the better for seeing the head detail though.

While walking the Osha Trail in Lincoln National Forest with a view looking to the west. I decided to use the hiking trail leading into the forest as a leading line into the image. The view of this captured image is a turned around one from where I had just hiked along the mountainside in this part of the national forest.
