What a huge and pleasant surprise - I went outside to get something from the garden this evening, and to my left this amazing display of noctilucent clouds was occurring! Forget the chores, get me a camera!!! I have waited ages to see this wonderful spectacle, since learning about them. Admittedly, not the most scenic of locations - looking to the north over a field close to my home - but there was no time to find anywhere else before they would disappear.....so electricity cables it was!! Anyway, I hope to be able to capture such a display again sometime, and hopefully when in a mountain range........ Anyway Fujifilm X-T30, Fujinon XF18-55mm f2.8-4.0 R LM OIS - ISO800/f4/25 secs
Four weeks from now I'll be showing some of my movie vehicles at Dutch Comic Con in Utrecht. For this occasion, I decided to make a display base for my Tomcat, with a brick-built Top Gun logo. I think this looks nicer than simply placing the model on black tablecloth.
I also fitted the Tomcat with a boarding ladder and steps for the crew. These don't retract, but can easily be added or removed by swapping a few parts. The model has had this feature from the start, but I never showed it in pictures.

Dramatic, dark, atmospheric gothic even; all words that spring to mind whenever I think of the Isle of Skye. There are a few locations on the isle that epitomise this image, and the Fairy Pools is one such place.
This is the second time that I’ve visited this spot and I’ve been taken back at the almost unlimited opportunities it offers for photographers, with a long series of pools framed by the looming backdrop of the Cuillin.
This particular fall seems to be the preferred choice for most photographers and it is hard to avoid photographing it yourself. On this day I was struck by how the cloudy sky was emphasising the greens in the pool. As the light was already dim I only needed my 0.6 filter to slow it down enough to allow the larger stones to show through the shallow water.
I had taken a few more images including a nice landscape version but I managed to accidentally delete them off the memory card; picture a ranting man in the middle of a glen in Assynt!
Like the image? Press ‘L’ to see it large and ‘F’ to add it as a favourite, and feel free to leave a comment; it’s always nice to hear what you think.
Thanks for looking

Enjoying the day sitting on a bucket in the swamp watching osprey and eagles but this lovely display of mallow at the dam information center was begging to have its picture taken. Have a great week my friends! Finally today a nice gentle rain! Hooray! ~Sam
"Swan Display - Triptych" by Patti Deters. A Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator) shows off the beauty and grace of his wings and feathers as he settles in the water. These great white birds are one of the most beautiful and graceful water birds to be found in Minnesota. This triptych is the same bird in different stages of display (where they show off their wings by flapping and splashing around). A splatter texture has been applied for a high key, minimal, and artistic effect. Each image in this triptych is also available individually by going to the links below. If you like this image, I invite you to please share or see my main image gallery (avian, wildlife, and more) at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/swan-display-triptych-pa....
