This window display features vintage items that you might have found on a picnic a few decades ago (plus a new denim, rag quilt). I loved the blue ice cream maker and the suitcase/picnic basket the best.
All Northern 158's have this destination control box in the cabs. Fairly simple to operate, clear instructions are displayed for the crew to operate. 158797 is no different, with the standard box installed

Interactive Displays in Public Space
Daniel Michelis, Anhalt University of Applied Science
Interactive large format displays have presently found their way into many places in
public space. After a long phase of experimenting with prototypes only recently have
technically mature applications been observed that are used in an increasing number
of potential areas. This research project examines the motivations behind the use of these
applications.
Serving as the point of departure are four large format displays of the installation
Magical Mirrors, developed as prototypes by the author of this work, and which
allowed the first experiences with the use of interactive large format displays in public
space to be collected even before the beginning of the investigation. These initial
experiences were taken into consideration in developing the research questions and
design.
At the center of the work is an analysis of theoretical motivations in which five
motivational factors are determined according to previous research work and in
consideration of the demands specific to interactive large format displays. In the
analysis of these factors a set of tools of fundamental motivations are identified from
which design elements for interactive large format displays in public space can be
derived. The results of the analysis are subjected to an empirical examination. In 15
partial experiments the observed user behavior of a total of 4640 passersby is
analyzed.
On the basis of this empirical investigation this research project presents – as one of the
first scholarly works in this area – a contribution to the understanding of the
fundamental motivations behind the use of interactive large format displays in public
space.

This photo marks a double celebration as it's also the first time since 2008 that I've been up to date on flickr - I have no more photos to post until I go and take some more photos. While this may not sound like a big deal, it essentially marks the end of me clearing my backlog from travelling, so it feels nice to finally be back on top of it all.
This is one of the many cars that the Insurance Company of British Columbia puts on display at various public locations throught the Province. The purpose is to show younger and potential drivers the possible outcome of their driving habbits. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what is the actual physical presence worth? Priceless.
Found this awesome wire shelf at my very favorite thrift store for like $8. It was intended for the inside of an armoire that needed shelves, but I liked it better out in the open where I could load it up with treasures!
Currently on display: things in my favorite colors of the moment - pink and aqua!

We went to Legoland Windsor's Scooby Doo themed fireworks display last weekend and they were fantastic. I began by thinking I was never much good at capturing firworks on photos but would have a go to leaving feeling more than happy with what I had got. Well done Legoland for a great display.
