Just a quick shot of some of my sidetable options.
Recently I found thouse mini plant stands (the black and golden one) and thought it might be nice to show how I like to combine these things for instant side tables. All pieces were bought from stores, nothing is glued so it can be easily mixed and matched anew every time ; ).
The wooden square is from IKEA and the small golden plate is plastic and was the plate for a dessert if I remember correctly.
The golden and black plant stands are a product of Mica Decorations.
The black candle holder, as well as the soft pink/golden saucer, the tiny golden one, the mirror saucer and the golden candle holder are all from "Depot".
"Glass is a thing in disguise, an actor, is not solid at all, but a liquidan old sheet of glass will not only take on a royal and purplish tinge but will reveal its true liquid nature by having grown fatter at the bottom and thinner at the top, and It is invisible, solid, in short a joyous and paradoxical thing, as good a material as any to build a life from. What's wrong with this picture? Display Fail! I think the window dressing crew should have finished their 'swings' before they went to lunch because those poor kiddie manequins look a tad on the worried side with 2 noose like ropes left hanging in the display.
Unusual private display at Point Reyes Station, California, a small (need I say, arty) town along the coast above San Francisco.

The sea animal is now under threat of extinction from years of overfishing. Shells remains very 'collectible' and the meat is desired.
I made this card display that out of a discarded café table and chair topped with glass from the architectural rescue shop. I love the matured colour of the wood and I think it's a real nice backdrop to the cards.
An inexpensive black tree has been the focus of this year's Christmas display. It has been adorned with some of my most favourite pieces crafted by Christina (Jamfancy) and Sandra (Pinkytoast)... some feathered friends mixed in with stars and butterflies... a teapot complete with legs and other little bits and bobs that I have found over the years, too. The tablecloth was difficult to source and the search ended with I came across the last one for sale at Spotlight recently... it has my favourite damask pattern on it and matches the curtains perfectly. The purple tree was a gorgeous gift from a lovely shop owner... the colour is so delicious to gaze upon! Blythe is able to watch over the whole setup from the shelves nearby.
Shot in Shaldon.. this beautiful Pericallis x hybrida.. I hope..:)

North American Harvard pair make a very low formation beat-up at Shoreham sometime back in the 1990's.
Until I scanned this I hadn't noticed that the back seater of the blue painted one - locally based G-BKRA, has the cockpit canopy open and is either leaning out or is perhaps wielding a camera!
The yellow one was possibly being flown by pop-star Gary Numan who visited here occasionally.
The 'sa' logo visible between the rooftops was on 'Spooner Aviation's' Hangar who used to import Enstrom Helicopters.

Put together a display about art journaling for a case at the library. Added 2 of my fav books: The Creative License by D. Gregory and How to Make a Journal of Your Life by D. Price
Yeah- there's a lot. Huffing them up and down the basement stairs makes for an excellent work out as I switch out portions seasonally. In Explore Oct 7 -08
Wooden hands cut out by my Grandpa! Always a topic of conversation at my shows, this display helps returning customers recognize my booth from afar :)
Along the old Northern Pacific Railroad, this station and caboose still remain as a display, with the station having become the White Bear Lake, MN Champer of Commerce center.
Taken from about 2km away from the display I had miscalculated the focal length of the required lens. This year the display used low noise low pollution fireworks and whilst still spectacular to see they did seem significantly smaller. Anyway the photos are here just for a bit of fun.
I submitted a Lego Ideas project this week on a simple, yet effective way to hang Lego minifigures from the wall. Check out the details of the project here.
Ah, a clearer and more recent photo now, even if the destination display didn't capture. And with help on research for the previous upload, looking at a back shot of this bus, I knew that this wasn't no ordinary Enviro 200. And, as it turns out, I was right! These originally were York Pullman buses! And as well as that, these are MANviro's! If only I knew then, because by God, these seemed like such interesting buses! As such, I'm happy to have them, and I'm sad to hear that they are now Burnley buses in plain-old standard Transdev livery over there.
The last frontal shot I have of these special MANviro 200s, Transdev York & Country's 1107, a 2010 MAN ADL Enviro 200 delivered new to York Pullman for their then-contracted 'unibus' services, is seen among crowds on... er, Pavement, on a 181 service to, I think, Malton.
Built a display for Twitter messages using a used VFD cashier display, an Arduino board and Flash.
The arduino-side code is very basic:
#include
#define rxPin 2
#define txPin 3
// set up a new serial port
SoftwareSerial mySerial = SoftwareSerial(rxPin, txPin);
void setup() {
// define pin modes for tx, rx, led pins:
pinMode(rxPin, INPUT);
pinMode(txPin, OUTPUT);
// set the data rate for the SoftwareSerial port
Serial.begin(4800);
mySerial.begin(9600);
mySerial.print(0x10,BYTE);
mySerial.print(0x14,BYTE);
mySerial.print(0x0c,BYTE);
}
void loop() {
if ( Serial.available() > 0 ) mySerial.print(Serial.read(), BYTE);
