My Wreck-It Ralph merchandise collection. Currently it consists of toys and dolls of based on the various characters of the Disney animated feature Wreck-It Ralph. Originally released by the Disney Store in October 2012; the movie was released on November 2, 2012. My collection of scented plush dolls and racers is not complete at this point, as the Disney Store was sold out of certain items when I was buying them.

Today, November 26, 2012 I just got a large number of these items through the mail. Unlike all my other mail from the Disney Store, the box it came in did NOT have any logos or text on the outside showing that it came from Disney. That is a welcome change from the past, especially for people who are buying gifts for people that they wish to keep a secret. I put the new items together with items I previously purchased in store and online over the past few weeks, for some of which I have already posted images. On the left are the Talking Vanellope and Taffyta dolls, and the plushes of the Sugar Rush racers. In the middle are the Sugar Rush and Hero's Duty Figurine Sets, and the Talking Wreck-It Ralph Action Figure. On the right is a Wreck-It Ralph tote bag, and the racing sets.

The new Classic Maleficent doll has been fully deboxed and is posing standing up with her arms outstretched. She is supported by a metal doll stand (not included with the doll). She is photographed from all angles.

Review of Classic Maleficent Doll

Her head and face are much more movie accurate than that of the Designer Maleficent, but don't approach the accuracy (and beauty) of the Mattel Great Villains Maleficent doll. She has a head that is considerably larger than the Mattel doll, and it does look too large for her body. Her molded horns are made of hollow black pastic that is glued onto her head. Her 'hood' is a molded part of her head. The horns are missing the purple lines demarking the sections. They have a matte surface, which doesn't look or feel quite as nice as the velvety surface of the Mattel doll's horns and hood. Her head is long and narrow, with a aquiline and very long chin, which is not as pointy as is should be. Her face has the same pale green color as the Mattel doll and movie character. She has narrow beady black eyes with purple eyeshadow from her lids to her arched thin black eyebrows. Her wide mouth has bright red lips and form a scowl. Her overall expression is gloomy, as if she has just heard very disappointing news. I like the Mattel doll's expression much more, which is that of gleeful, smug, evil satisfaction, as if she is just about to vanquish her enemies, which is more in keeping with Maleficent's character. The Mattel doll also has deeper red lips, more like blood red, which I also prefer.

Classic Maleficent has the same body construction as the other 11-12'' dolls in the 2012-2013 Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection, that started with Classic Merida in April 2012. Her skin color is a pale green all over, except for her molded black horns and painted on black panties. She has neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints. Her head is on a ball joint that allows 360 degrees rotation about a horizontal plane, and tilting 10 degrees down, 30 degrees back, and 30 degrees towards the left and right. Perhaps I was a little too forceful testing the tilting of her head for this review, since her right horn started to become unglued from her head. :( This was after these photos were taken. I will have to superglue it back when I get a chance. Her shoulder have ball joints 360 degree rotation in a vertical plane and tilting about 90 degrees from the vertical. Her elbows are also ball joints, that allows 90 degrees tilt inward and 30 degrees outwards. Her wrists are hinge and pivot joints that allow 360 degrees rotation and can tilt 90 degrees backward and 45 degrees forward. Her hips have ball joints that allow rotation about a plane 30 degrees from the vertical, and tilting 30 degrees outward. Her knees are hinge joints that allow tilting 80 degrees backwards and 10 degrees forward. Finally her ankles are hinge/pivot joints like her wrists, allowing 360 rotation, 45 tilt upwards and 80 degrees downwards. She has much more posability than the Mattel Maleficent. She is missing the red painted nails and magic black and gold ring of the movie character and the Mattel doll. Also her green neck is exposed, when it should of be the same color as her horns. The Mattel doll completely covers the neck with a black inner collar.

Her outfit is consists of a dress and a cape, that are sewn together at the left shoulder and connected with a velcro fastener at the right shoulder. It is entirely made of satin, in black or dark magenta, and is removable. The dress is form fitting slinky black satin with a magenta center panel. It has very large sleeves that have saw tooth pattern pointing down (simulating flames), and drape over the arms. They are black on the outside, and magenta inside. The collar is magenta facing forward, and black in the back. The full length cape is black on the outside and magenta on the inside, with sawtooth pattern at the bottom, simulating flames. She has black high heeled shoes, that fit very snuggly on her feet, so I removed the rubber bands that secured the shoes to her feet for shipping. The outfit looks good, but is simplified compared to the one in the movie, or the one on the Mattel Great Villains Maleficent. Also the Mattel doll's outfit has an outer layer of black velvet, which looks and feels much more luxurious than the Disney doll. The Mattel doll also has an inner dress of red satin, and a layer of purple organza in the sleeves and outer collar. However, Mattel doll's outfit is not removable, and it and the doll's construction makes her have only one natural pose - the one that she has in the box.

She has no accessories. So she is missing her magic scepter and her companion raven Diablo, that were included with the Mattel Great Villains version of Maleficent. Without them, the doll looks incomplete, especially in her trademark pose with her arms outstretched.

First look at the newly released Classic Maleficent 12'' doll. Maleficent's look (the doll and her outfit) is based on her appearance in the movie, and is much more movie accurate than the Designer Maleficent doll (September 2011), who was ''re-imagined'' as a fashion doll.

2012-2013 Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection Maleficent 12'' Doll

US Disney Store

$14.50, or 2 for $20

Released in stores December 30, 2012

Purchased in store January 3, 2013

Not yet available online

I went to my local DS on Thursday January 3, 2013 and snagged two of the brand new Classic Villain 12'' Dolls, the Evil Queen and Maleficent. They were just released in some stores this past weekend, and are not yet available online. My store did not have the new Jafar yet, but will get him very soon. I also got Mother Gothel, who is in the new ''Posable Arms and Legs'' package so presumably has the new knee and ankle joints that the 2012 Classic Princess dolls have (first introduced with Classic Merida). The new Evil Queen and Maleficent dolls also have the new leg joints. They were all part of the 2 for $20 Disney Princess Classic Doll sale, even though they are brand new releases. I will post photos of all of them boxed, during their deboxing, and fully deboxed, both alone and with other comparable dolls.

Cinderella is deboxed, and is laying down for inspection of her dress construction.

I just received Premiere Series Cinderella from the Disney Store today. I ordered her on release day, Saturday October 13, 2018. She is #1607 of 4400. She arrived in perfect shape. However there was three fingerprints on the inside of the viewing window above her head, that you can see in some of the photos.

Her face and makeup are absolutely gorgeous. I wish her hair was closer to the design sketch. Also there is too much black in the skirt, and the outer tulle reminds me of LE Ursula's skirt. But overall she is very striking, and represents Cinderella very well. I rank her third in this doll series, after Snow White and Jasmine.

The Disney Designer Collection proudly presents our Premiere Series Cinderella Limited Edition Doll, inspired by the fashions of 1950, when elegant gowns graced both red carpets and silver screens as part of the Hollywood dream factory.

There was more than a hundred people waiting outside the Disney Store this morning. Fortunately most of them were after the Mickey merchandise, and I got picked in the raffle for Jasmine. Several collectors that I knew were also there, but none of them got picked. I selected the first doll that was handed to me at the register, since she looked perfect. I didn't bring my camera, so no photos from the release. She is #425 of 4000. I show her boxed, and with the inner box taken out and the front viewing window taken off. She is very beautiful and my second most favorite doll from the series. She is first one that I managed to get from the store raffle, so I could take her home on release day. I will debox her tomorrow.

The new Classic Mother Gothel has been deboxed, and is lying down. Her outfit has been removed, to show what her body and articulation looks like. She is lying on her left side, and is in a pose showing off her flexibility.

Her hair has been fixed up to be more even, as it was in two flattened sections on either side of her head. I just used my fingers to redistribute the hair and fluff it up to make it more even around her head. I had to cut off some hair that came loose during this process, and to make the ends more even. She has some longer hair in the back, that my older Mother Gothel doll doesn't have. I'm not sure whether that is a factory variance, or a design change.

First look at the fully posable Disney Store Classic Mother Gothel 12'' doll. She has the new body with fully articulated legs - new knee and ankle joints. She is the same doll as original Classic Mother Gothel doll in all other ways. She has been available online for several months, but I just recently started seeing her in stores. I bought her at the same time that I got the new Classic Evil Queen and Maleficent dolls.

I just bought the newly released 12 inch singing dolls from my local Disney Store. They are not yet available online. They had Aurora (as Briar Rose), Belle (in her Winter outfit) and Anna (in her Coronation outfit). They are $19.95 each, and have the same packaging as the Ariel, Cinderella, Elsa, Jasmine and Moana singing dolls released in 2018. They sing for about 15 seconds when you twist their left hand (to your right as you face them). Aurora sings 'Once Upon a Dream' acapella, Belle sings 'Something There' acapella and Anna sings 'Love Is an Open Door' with musical accompaniment.

I debox Aurora first, and will debox the others soon. Aurora is in her purple and black peasant outfit, with glitter floral design on her skirt. The glitter is well glued and doesn't shed. There is a crimson satin shawl around her arms, and a black satin ribbon in her golden blonde hair. Her straight bangs are a little too long, and partially hide her left eye. Her hair is soft except for her bangs, and end in gentle curls. There is a small red cloth rose with a short green stem. I left the rubberband securing it to her right hand. She has violet eyes glancing to her left, and dark pink lips in an open smile. She is barefoot, with rubber legs and fixed angled feet (as if she is on tip toes). Her left arm, which has the singing switch in her wrist, has a fixed elbow. She is a beautiful and fairly accurate depiction of Briar Rose.

The 10-pack Mulan has been completely deboxed. She is posed standing up, supported by a doll stand (not included). She has the face of the 2012 Classic Mulan doll, but her hair, body and outfit are the same as that the 2011 10-pack Mulan.

2012 Disney Princess Classic Film Collection - 10 Doll Set

US Disney Store

$99.50 US

Released in stores around October 25, 2012

Released online on October 29, 2012

Personal Photos

This 10 doll set was actually released a couple of months ago in the UK, but without warning it just appeared in my local Disney Store in the US on Oct 25, 2012. It now also available online in the US Disney Store website, as of Oct 29, 2012. The US version has the dolls in reverse order, with Rapunzel in the top left slot, and Snow White in the bottom right slot. The dolls themselves appear to be identical to the UK version. They have the new faces and hairstyles, but the old bodies (with the rubber legs, and no ankle joints), and the old nearly glitter-free outfits of the 2011 set. The set sells for the old price of $99.50 US. I purchased the set, and will post photos of it boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed, and grouped with comparable dolls.

Corrected Cinderella Deluxe Doll Gift Set

US Disney Store

$79.50 US

First Look - Deboxing

The dolls have been removed from the box, but are still attached to the tray-like cardboard backing and spacers by wires, plastic ties, threads and rubber bands. They are now in clear view.

Today (Nov 19, 2012) I finally received the Disney Store's Cinderella Deluxe Doll Gift Set with the stepsisters' faces corrected. I also got the corrected Cinderella Mini Doll Set (not shown here). The corrected sets were available online about a month ago, but I waited until it was independently verified by a customer that the Disney Store was indeed shipping corrected sets. Also, I waited until I could get them during a 25% off general online sale.

Anastasia and Drizella have their faces switched to the correct bodies, that is their heads are switched, but they kept their hair and outfits. There appears to be a line across the forehead of Drizella, but I don't know if that was part of the original head mold for her or a factory defect, until I see other copies of the new set. I have not yet the corrected set in stores. Since Drizella's head originally went on Anastasia, who has a much lower hairline, that might explain the line. The line may also appear very faintly on the website's high resolution image of the dolls.

I photograph the stepsisters boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. Of course, I also pose the stepsisters side by side with their older versions.

Redressing of the new Classic Maleficent doll. She is fully deboxed, and lying down face down on the counter. Her outfit is around her arms and legs, but her dress is open in the back, to allow the top part of a doll stand to be inserted down the back of her dress. The stand's prongs are seen wrapped around her waist. Her dress is too tight around her thighs and waist when she is wearing it, to allow the doll stand's prongs to be inserted up her dress.

She has the same body construction as the other 11-12'' dolls in the 2012-2013 Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection, that started with Classic Merida in April 2012.

She has no accessories. So she is missing her magic scepter and her companion raven Diablo, that were included with the Mattel Great Villains version of Maleficent.

First look at the newly released Classic Maleficent 12'' doll. Maleficent's look (the doll and her outfit) is based on her appearance in the movie, and is much more movie accurate than the Designer Maleficent doll (September 2011), who was ''re-imagined'' as a fashion doll.

Deboxing LE Elena. All covers are removed, leaving her on the cardboard backing, which is free standing.

I got the Elena of Avalor LE 17 inch Doll from my local Disney Store on the release day, Tuesday November 21, 2017. I went to my store at 11:30 am, instead of my usual line up before the store opens for LE doll releases. There were three of the doll behind the counter, but placed sideways and with no promo placard. So it wasn't obvious that there was a Limited Edition doll release today. The CM I bought the doll from didn't seem to know anything about the release, so I don't know how many dolls the store got in, how many they sold, or how many were remaining. I took the first doll that was handed to me, since the doll looked perfect to me. She is #1375 of 6000.

Deboxing the set.

I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.

Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.

Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.

The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.

This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.

I show her boxed, and with the outer and inner front covers removed. I will debox her tomorrow.

The Disney Designer Collection proudly presents our Premiere Series Cinderella Limited Edition Doll, inspired by the fashions of 1950, when elegant gowns graced both red carpets and silver screens as part of the Hollywood dream factory.

Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Elsa Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Anna. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #3818 of 7000.

I like her very much, both her new face and outfit. But she does have a couple of defects. One is that her hair is a bit messy on top, where part of her crown of bangs going the wrong way. The other is that there is a shallow cut on her forehead, that is especially visible when looking straight on in bright lighting. I think of it as a scar from the fight in the ice castle. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has dark blue ice heels.

I show her in box, and with all the covers removed. I will debox her later. I show her next to my deboxed Frozen Fever Elsa doll and Harrods Snow Queen Elsa doll. Unlike those two dolls, OFA Elsa's cape doesn't have any embroidery. The snowflake and icicle patterns are depicted using glued on silver glitter appliques and clear crystals. Her dress does have considerable use of embroidery.

Mickey with the satin ribbon removed.

I just received the January limited release of the monthly Disney Store Mickey Mouse Through the Years Sketchbook Ornament Set. It is a two ornament set based on the 1928 animated film Plane Crazy, which was the first Mickey Mouse short filmed, but not the first one released (which was Steamboat Willie). The main ornament is Mickey holding a book 'How to Fly' and a mirror. The smaller ornament is his plane (on a much smaller than Mickey). It is very well designed and made. It is still available online, but was never available at my local Disney Store.

Evil Queen Disney Villains Designer Collection Doll

Personal Photos - Deboxing

The doll has now been entirely freed from all shipping restraints, and has been removed from the doll stand. The dress was VERY tight and unyielding around her legs, so lifting her out of the doll stand took quite a bit of effort. The next step is to undress her in order to remove the protective plastic around her upper legs. Also it allows her outfit and accessories to been shown separate from the doll. Here the doll is placed face down on the counter, in order to undo the velcro fasteners in the back of her dress. The back of her dress is opened up, showing the manufacturer's markings. The text is ''(c) Disney. Made in China. H268-9564-9-12177. 1697/13000.'' Also shown is the clasp fastener at the back of her golden rhinestone encrusted belt.

Live Action Cinderella Slipper Ornament

$24.99

Item No. 7509055890904P

US Disney Store

I received this slipper ornament from the Disney Store a couple of weeks ago, but just now got around to unpacking it and taking some photos. It is still available online from the Disney Store, and costs $24.95. It is made by Disney Parks, but I haven't seen it yet in Disneyland.

I am very impressed with the ornament. It is an accurate representation of the live action Cinderella slipper. It is made of resin and metal, with faceted sides and a glittering golden butterfly. It is about 4 inches along the top of the shoe, the same size as the other Disney Parks shoe ornaments. It stands comparison to my $395 Arribas Cinderella faceted crystal slipper, which is about twice its size (7.5 inches along the top of the shoe). I show it alone from various angles, and also side by side with some of my other LA Cinderella slipper figures.
