First official photo of the upcoming Limited Edition Ariel 17'' Doll. Promoting the Diamond Edition release of The Little Mermaid on Blu-ray and DVD, scheduled for Oct 1, 2013. Text from the Facebook page:
Here's your first official sneak peek of our newest Limited Edition Doll… Princess Ariel!
Check back Friday for more photos and all the details!
They refused to answer any of the questions with more information, even about the size and price of the doll, except to say to check back Friday (July 19, 2013).
Two versions of the Snow White and the Prince Doll Set, from the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, are compared.
Joining them on the left is the 2011 Limited Edition Designer Snow White Doll from the Disney Princess Designer Collection. She was released online and in stores on September 19, 2011 and purchased online the same day. She is number 3997 of 6000. Behind her is the 2011 Classic Prince doll (as there were no limited edition dolls of the Prince from that year).
In the center is the regular edition Snow White and the Prince dolls, that have outfits closer to being movie accurate, and are a limited edition of 6000 sets. They were released in stores on August 20, 2013, and online the next day. My doll set was purchased in store on release day, and is number 558 of 6000.
On the right is the D23 Expo exclusive Gold Snow White and the Prince dolls, that have special outfits of the same pattern as the regular versions of the dolls, but made of different materials and colors. It was a limited edition of 600 sets. They were released exclusively at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California on August 8-10, 2013. My dolls were purchased on August 9, 2013, and are numbered 114 of 600.
Enchanted Rose in Bell Jar, uncovered.
Detailed photos of the accessories included with the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set. They are all deboxed. They include additional outfits for Belle and the Beast, vinyl figures of the Beast's enchanted staff, a bluebird friend of Belle, Belle's book, the enchanted rose in bell jar, and the enchanted mirror.
Here are detailed photos of the newly released Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95), that I just got from my local Disney Store. The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.
Fairytale Designer Cinderella and Lady Tremaine have been deboxed. They are standing sided by side, supported by Kaiser stands. I decided to leave Cinderella's skirt pinned together into pleats in the front, and leave Lucifer tied to Lady Tremaine's arm by rubber bands.

#2287 of 6000
Detailed photos of the Cinderella and Lady Tremaine DFDC limited edition doll set that I bought on the release day (September 6, 2016) from my local Disney Store. There were only about 10 people who entered the raffle for the 18 doll sets available. My set is numbered #2287 of 6000. I didn't see any significant flaws when I inspected the set at the register. I didn't get a gift bag when I bought the set, but returned the next day and they gave me one. The set is still available online, and in some stores as of Friday September 9.
Cinderella does have teeth in her face mold. They are painted over to give the illusion of a closed mouth. But at the angle that her head is positioned, it is hard to see the painted over teeth, and the illusion is very convincing.
Cinderella is wearing dark pink high heels with articulated ankles. She has blemish on her cheek that looks like hair product that spilled onto her face. So I was able to wash it off when I took the cover off the display case. Her hair is stiff with hair product, so I decided to leave her hair alone after deboxing, even though it looks a bit messy, and some of her hair curls around her neck.
When I deboxed Lady Tremaine, I unpinned her skirt so it's much fuller. I also unpinned her scarf so it falls freely from her head. It is sewn to her hair. I left Cindy's skirt pinned together in the front (so it looks pleated), but I may free it later.
This is my favorite set in this year's Designer Collection, and has been since I first saw images of it. Cinderella looks even more beautiful in person than in photos. I love her hair color and her face. Lady Tremaine's outfit is outstanding, and is much better than the one on the 17 inch Limited Edition Lady Tremaine from 2012.
Weihnachten ist zwar schon längst vorbei... aber das nächste kommt bestimmt xDDDD

With no room to display my Snow White, she is now back in the box, on a folding chair next to my desk.
I received my Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series Snow White Limited Edition Doll today. I had ordered her online at the release day, shortly after 12 AM in the morning of Saturday October 6, 2018. She is #1301 of 4100. She came in a shipper box that is approximately the same size as the LE 17 inch doll shippers. It original shipping label said GIRLS TOYS LE PR DSGN SNOW DOLL F18, and CART #: 01298. There was a small piece of masking tape stuck to the side of the box with the actual edition number (matching the CoA): 1301. Inside there was another corrugated cardboard box snugly fitting in the outer shipping box. Inside that was the actual doll box, which was covered with tissue paper, and fit snugly in the inner shipping box, with cardboard caps on the top and bottom of the doll box. The shipper box was undamaged in transit, as was the inner box and the doll box itself.
The doll box has folding panels in the front with magnetic closure, with a large design sketch of Snow White and the year 1937 in large numerals. In the background are photographers in silhouette snapping photos, and a red carpet. The back of the box has angled corners, making for a hexagonal shaped box. The sides and back of the box also has images of Snow White. The top of the box has a clear window with the title of the collection in gold lettering. Inside the front covers are replicas of the movie poster, invitation and tickets to the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, on December 21, 1937. The doll is behind a rectangular viewing window extending almost the full width and height of the box.
The inner box containing the doll and front viewing window can be slid out from the outer box. It is entirely enclosed, so can be displayed as is, without having to deal with the front covers either covering up the doll, or taking up space in front or to the sides of the inner box. The doll is on top a red carpet that has steps in front, and is flocked cardboard.
The doll herself is by far my favorite of the current Designer Premiere Series. I'm slightly biased because Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess, and am so happy that she turned out so well. I think her gown and accessories are very beautifully designed and produced. It also is very fitting for Snow White, and would be something she would wear to the premiere of her own movie.
I show her boxed, with the inner box removed from the outer box, and finally with the front viewing window removed from the inner box.
I will fully debox her tomorrow and post photos here when I do.

Here are side by side comparisons of the 2013 through 2016 Disney Store Classic Princess 12 inch dolls. I start out with Snow White, the first Disney Princess and also my favorite Disney character.
Their faces are all identical as far as I can tell. Except that the latest one has slightly paler and pinker skin on her face as well as the rest of her body, which is a welcome change to me. They are all glancing to the left (their right), have dark pink lips that are full and slightly open in a charming smile.
They are all supposed to have the same bobbed hair style, but only the 2013 doll has very neat hair that is close to the correct style. They all have red satin ribbons in their hair, but only the 2013 doll has an actual bow. Since then the 'bows' are actually flat pieces of satin sewn to look like a bow.
They all have the same style outfits: blue bodices with puff sleeves and high white collar, red capes, golden yellow skirts and yellow flats. Their skirts changed between glitter patterns and uniform glitter in alternate years. I prefer the latter, although it does shed quite a bit, and is especially troublesome on their sticky rubber legs. The 2015 skirt hardly shed glitter at all, and also had jewel embellishments, which none of the other dolls had. The 2016 skirt has a denser layer of glitter than the 2014 one, which makes it stiffer and helps it keep a fuller shape. The best outfit was the 2014 one, with velvet bodice and cape, and a double layer hemmed satin collar. The 2014 and 2015 capes were removable, so it is disappointing that the current doll has a cape that is permanently sewn to the back of her dress, just below the collar. It also doesn't drape very well, being encrusted with red glitter.
They have the same bodies (except for the skin color change in the 2016 doll), with rubber legs, click stop internal knee joints, and ball jointed neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist joints. It might just be a factory variance, but i feel that this year's doll has looser joints than the older dolls.
The biggest change (and improvement) in this year's doll is the addition of a bluebird sidekick figurine. It's little claws fit snuggly over Snow's index finger or thumb, and mimics the bluebird included with the 2009 LE Snow White 17'' doll, although it is much less detailed.

2018 Singing Ariel 11 1/2 inch doll by Disney Store. Singing one verse of 'Part of Your World' (approximately 12 seconds long). 16 seconds HD video.
I got the new Disney Store 11 1/2 inch singing Cinderella and Ariel dolls today. My store also had singing Moana (which I didn't get), but don't have Jasmine or Elsa yet. They are showing up in various Disney Stores both here in the US and also in the UK, but are not yet available online.
They are in much simpler packaging than previous singing dolls, and have no accessories. They are also less expensive than previous singing dolls, only $19.99, just $5 more than a regular Classic doll. Cinderella and Ariel have new faces that are different than the current Classic dolls, and are quite lovely. Cinderella also has darker hair than previous singing and Classic dolls, being golden blonde rather than the usual platinum blonde.
Cinderella sings 'A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes' when you twist left her hand. She is wearing her pink dress. Ariel sings 'Part of Your World'. Ariel is in mermaid form, with a purple bra that has a large blue gem in the middle, and an iridescent dark blue-green tail with light blue-green fins.
I have deboxed Singing Ariel and will post detailed photos of her soon.
She has a pink cloth flower in her hair, with a yellow jewel in the center. It is tacked to her head with a T-tab. There is glitter on her bra, and in the tulle fins and fringe around her waist, but sheds very little, if at all. Her satin tail is iridescent, and has outlines of scales printed in black. She has the new style rubber legs, with internal click stop knee joints, and fixed flat feet.
But I have bad news about her singing. She only sings one verse of 'Part of Your World', which lasts about 12 seconds, and that's it. I thought that was just the Try Me mode, but there is no pull tab, or alternate switch position to make the song segment longer. And when you twist her hand again, the same verse repeats itself. Boo! The previous Ariel singing dolls (both 12 inch and 16 inch) all sang three verses of the song, lasting about 30 seconds. Some of the other 12 inch singing dolls from past years would sing 2 verses, or about 20 seconds of their song, but this new Ariel only singing one verse is very disappointing, despite her low price compared to past singing dolls.

I have had the Anna cup but I never posted a picture of it. Today I got Elsa and her cup!
The Elsa stuff is a precursor of something upcoming for me that I cannot wait to take pictures of! You can guess what it is :P!
I love Elsa's braids. My mom was able to pick a Elsa with the best hair out of the 20 Elsas my local Disney Store had LOL! She has learned my ways of "picking" the best item before buying them :D
Detailed photos of the new Classic Ariel doll. I love her face. But most of her hair is very stiff with hair product, so I found it hard to make it neater and fix the stray hairs. Her satin fins are okay, but there is a stained patch (glue?). I like the 2012 Classic Ariel fins better, but these new ones are definitely better than the tulle fins that most recent Classic Ariel dolls have had. I was going to compare her side by side with last year's Classic Ariel, but I can't find her at the moment.

Ariel and Eric are deboxed, and are sitting in the rowboat. They are reboxed.
I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.
Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.
Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.
The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.
This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.
I also got the Princess Mulan Tea Ceremony Playset ($29.95) today from my Disney Store. This is available online in the UK, but not in the US yet. My store didn't have the Belle or Anna playsets
yet. It comes with an 11 inch Mulan doll and many accessories.
Here is the UK site's detailed description of the item:

Comparing four 12'' Rapunzel play dolls by the Disney Store, released from 2012 through 2014. From left to right are the 2012 and 2013 Classic Rapunzel dolls, the 2013 Singing Rapunzel Doll, and finally the 2014 Rapunzel Classic 12'' Doll.
The best outfit by far is the 2014 one, which is more detailed and movie accurate than any of the others. It approaches the detail and accuracy of the original 2010 Rapunzel doll, or the current Parks doll. Although the 2012 doll has a fuller skirt, it doesn't keep its shape very well, and lacks the decoration and center panel of the other dolls, and the colors are all wrong. The 2013 doll has a similar outfit to the 2014, but lacks various details, such as the long sleeves, the floral decorations on center panel and the border of the outer skirt, and the deeper purple color of the skirt. The singing doll has both the wrong colors and is the bodice is the most simplified of all these four dolls.
All these dolls share that same face sculpt, but the face paint has been progressively improved over the years. The 2014 doll has a much warmer and prettier face than the others. The 2013 dolls have almost identical faces, except for pinker lips on the singing doll. The 2012 doll had a very awkward looking face, with eyes that looked to both glancing to her upper right, and staring straight ahead at the same time. Her lips formed a very unnatural looking smirk.
All the dolls have very long blonde hair that is straight and smooth, with a sideways bang over her forehead. However the 2012 had the longest hair, at about 12 inches, the other three dolls had 11 inch hair that didn't quite reach the floor. The swoosh bang was too severe in the 2013 dolls; it looks better in the 2012 and 2014 dolls. The 2012 and 2013 Classic dolls have excellent hair that was straight and smooth right out of the box, with very little combing needed to straighten out some strays. The 2013 singing doll and 2014 classic doll have hair that isn't quite so shiny and neat. The 2014 doll's hair got a little frizzy when I combed out the tangles. From the front, I think the 2014 doll has the best looking hair, as the the bang doesn't hide her face at all, and isn't too hardened by hair product. The 2014 doll has hair that is a littler darker in color than the other three dolls.
The 2013 and 2014 dolls have the same body, with fully articulated arms, but rubber legs and fixed angled feet. The 2012 doll has the problematic hard plastic legs with external knee joints and ball jointed ankles. She comes with flat soled purple shoes. The other dolls are barefoot, as was the movie character.
Here is my ranking of these four Rapunzel dolls, with their best features mentioned:
1. 2014 Classic Rapunzel. Best outfit by far and prettiest face, big overall improvement over 2013 dolls.
2. 2013 Classic Rapunzel. Very nice hair, big overall improvement over 2012 doll.
3. 2013 Singing Rapunzel. Very nice hair, but plain outfit.
4. 2012 Classic Rapunzel. Longest and most manageable hair, fullest skirt, but needs a petticoat to keep it full.
A fellow collector on Flickr asked about how full the LE Tiana's skirt was. So I made a series of shots, with her skirt shown progressively wider. Tiana was the second doll in the Limited Edition 17 inch doll series, released by the Disney Store in March 2010, and was LE 5000.
Finally I sit her down on the floor, with her legs straight out in front of her. Her multi-layered tulle petticoat is way less than 360 degrees in width, so I place it under her legs. Her yellow satin underskirt isn't quite 360 in width, so doesn't quite lay flat, but is bunched up a little around its perimeter. However her outer skirt layers do lay nicely around her, so it looks like a giant lily pad.
Holiday Anna next to my deboxed Frozen Fever Anna doll (2015), who I think is closest to her in design among the Anna LE dolls.
Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Anna Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Elsa. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #1234 of 7000, which I think is a really cool number.
I like her a lot more than I thought I would from the stock and leaked photos. I don't think she looks goofy, even with her smirk. But I do think that her in box pose is very awkward. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has lavender tights, which compares nicely with the green tights of FF Anna.
I show her in box, and with all the covers removed. I will debox her later.

Here are photos of my complete set all of the Premiere Series dolls. I got them all first hand, with Jasmine and Belle from the in store raffle, and the rest from the online release. They are stacked in two rows of three dolls each. They are first in closed boxes, then in boxes with the flaps open so the dolls are visible, then finally in their inner boxes, with the viewing window taken off. They are arranged in order of their movie's release dates.
I think that Snow White is by far best doll in this series. But I like all of these dolls, and appreciated them a lot more when seeing them in person and even more after deboxing them. And they look great together. Overall their accessories and jewelry are the best ever for DS Designer dolls, and the detail in their outfits is outstanding. I even like the boxes, except for the fact except for the room they take, and that the outer box cannot be slipped behind the inner box like the Platinum boxes.
Snow White - #1301 of 4100
Cinderella - #1607 of 4400
Ariel - #2047 of 4500
Belle - #1132 of 4500
Jasmine - #425 of 4000
Tiana - #253 of 4000
Belle : The doll is from the 2011 Classic Film Doll Collection. I changed her outfit with the 2010 Classic Belle Doll and add in more ruffles. I also curled her hair as she originally came with long straight hair.
Beast : The doll's head is the new mold and the body is the 2010 Classic Beast Doll body with full articulation. He is wearing the 2010 classic doll's shirt, vest, pants, boots, and the new doll's tux that I removed the beast's hands and tail.
Enchanted Rose : The rose they're holding is the one I got from the Gashapon.

I visited my other local DS today (Sunday, September 30), mainly for the Wreck-It Ralph 2 merchandise release. However, they had a nice display of the Premiere Series dolls and merchandise, that was different from my other local DS. So I took a couple of wide angle photos of it. Most of the Disney Store and ColourPop merchandise was in short supply, only three days after their release last Friday (Sept 28).
The Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set with the contents removed from the box, but still attached to the backing.
