Launch of direct ICE BERLIN-PARIS daytime service after more than a decade's pause since the last service ran. Night services began in 2023.
The first departure leaves Berlin Hauptbahnhof on 16 December 2024, stopping at Frankfurt/M, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg & Paris Est. This particular class 407 ICE has been named 'Paris'. Designated DB's Class 407, Siemens' Velaro D was specifically designed for Deutsche Bahn international services from Germany. It can run at speeds up to 330 km/h and complies with Technical Specifications for Interoperability and enhanced crashworthiness requirements. It also has fire-proof equipment rooms and fire doors between cars, specified for services through the Channel Tunnel.

March 29, 2023 - Albany, NY - Governor Kathy Hochul today issued a proclamation declaring March 29, 2023 Vietnam Veterans Day. This proclamation recognizes the service and sacrifice of New York's Vietnam War Veterans on the 50th anniversary of the date that the final American combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam. Additionally, Governor Hochul directed landmarks across New York State to be illuminated green, yellow and red in recognition of Vietnam Veterans Day. The three colors adorn the Vietnam Service Medal earned by U.S. Service Members who served during the Vietnam War. Service members recognized with the medal served on the ground in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand or in the contiguous waters or airspace of these areas. Foster Creek Conservation District, with Washington Department of Ecology funding, provides cost-share to dryland farmers to transition from conventional soil tillage practices to direct seeding. Direct seeding is a process that allows farmers to plant seed directly into the soil without first tilling the soil. Tilled soil is easily carried into the air by the wind and into waterways by the rain, so by not tilling the soil farmers are able to improve air quality and water quality throughout Douglas County while raising their crops.
