There are times and places when one has the feeling that some other dimensions have opened a window to another world...

La Puda és un edifici de grans dimensions, constituït per diversos cossos, i construït amb maó. El cos principal té planta baixa, dos pisos i un pis inferior. Unit a aquest, hi ha altre edifici, de forma semicircular, que es compon de planta baixa, dos pisos i golfes. A continuació hi ha altre edifici de planta baixa i dos pisos i, per últim, altre cos de només planta baixa. A la façana es poden distingir elements classicistes: la simetria i l'austeritat del conjunt, les pilastres d'estil jònic, el parament encoixinat i el ritme de les obertures exteriors.[1]
Pel que fa a l'interior, la planta baixa estava destinada al balneari pròpiament dit i a zona d'esbarjo; les plantes superiors corresponien a les habitacions dels banyistes. La gran galeria de banys, està formada per un corredor central amb cubícles o habitacles a banda i banda. Cada habitació consta d'una banyera de marbre i un agafador amb enrajolat fins a mitjana alçada de color groc i blanc. El conjunt constitueix una nau de notable alçada amb una estructura d'arcs que sosté una volta cilíndrica correguda al llarg de l'edifici. Aquesta alçada li permet de foradar la part superior amb unes llunetes que donen ventilació i llum natural, necessària atès que els vapors d'aigua sulfurosa podien acumular-se en el local. La il·luminació zenital reforça la imatge de temple de salut donat per la disposició de les tres naus allargades.[1]
Un notable conjunt situat a la vora esquerra del Llobregat, d'arquitectura neoclàssica, fragment d'un projecte més ambiciós. S'organitza a partir d'un eix del qual se'n va construir sols una part de planta baixa i dos pisos. Sobre l'antiga galeria de banys, un cos amb habitacions articulat amb un nucli d'escales i ascensors dóna pas a una part circular, amb més habitacions, que acaba en el cos central on es situen els salons, restaurants, menjador i bar. Una estructura d'arcs i voletes configura una important galeria de banys. A l'extrem de la construcció es conserva part de la capella.[1]
Les aigües
Segona planta de l'edifici principal d'habitacions. El d'obra més antiga i el que es conserva en millor estat estructural. Actualment, l'accés a aquesta planta és gairebé impossible, ja que el sòl del distribuïdor de l'escala es troba totalment ensorrat.
L'establiment estava situat a la mateixa riba del Llobregat, on des del segle XVIII, arran d'un terratrèmol, brollaven aigües sulfuroses. La primera referència històrica, però, data del 1718, quan el doctor Salvador féu la primera anàlisi química de les aigües.[2] Aquestes aigües, de naturalesa sulfurosa-sòdica, brollen a una temperatura de 32°C i es calcula el seu cabal actual en uns 4 l/s que s'aboquen directament al riu Llobregat.[3] Les aigües van començar a ser usades amb finalitats medicinals l'any 1818. L'any 1829 es varen començar a construir dos edificis de banys, a cadascuna de les dues ribes del Llobregat, aprofitant les dues surgències d'aigua termal a banda i banda del riu, sota la direcció facultativa del metge Antoni Coca i Rabassa i la intervenció de Salvador Garriga, un sastre d'Esparreguera. A causa de la falta de diners, Garriga se suïcidà l'any 1831, i el seu germà continuà les obres, associat amb Francesc Castells i Francesc Pedrosa. L'any 1834 els edificis ja estaven en ple funcionament. Les riuades del riu Llobregat de 1842 i 1843 inundaren i arrasaren els edificis.[4] L'alçada tant summament baixa a què brolla l'aigua mineral (al nivell del riu) va impedir que els edificis es poguessin construir a gaire més altura, cosa que va provocar la seva destrucció amb la riuada. Aquest fet també ha afectat els edificis actuals, ja que en diverses ocasions han sofert les envestides del riu.
Construcció
El 1829 es concedeix a Salvador Garriga d'Esparreguera el permís d'obres de dos edificis de banys a cada vora del riu. El 1839 es fan càrrec de les aigües el Sr. F. Pedrosa i el Sr. F. Castell de Pons. El 1842-1843 unes riades destrueixen els dos edificis construïts; és aleshores quan una societat d'accionistes amb el doctor Pujades projecta l'edificació d'un nou edifici (projecte de Josep Oriol Bernadet 1846). La societat fa fallida el 1856 i torna a passar als anteriors propietaris. El 1880 figuren com a propietaris els senyors Croses i Garriga. El 1840 prop. Societat d'Acc. Muntaner-Torra Clapes i Almirall; des del 1960, Sr. Dalmases.[1]
El 12 de març de 1845, el psiquiatre Antoni Pujadas i Mayans va completar la compra dels dos edificis i terrenys del balneari de la Puda, amb la col·laboració del comerciant Josep Oriol Negrevernis, amb l'objectiu de renovar les instal·lacions, crear un nou balneari i un nou manicomi, i donar entrada a altres socis. Les previsions de negoci no es van complir, en part degut a la dificultat d'accés al balneari, ja que les faccions carlines feien insegurs els camins. Van sorgir molts conflictes entre els socis fins que la societat va ser finalment liquidada.[5]
D'aquesta època és l'edifici que es conserva en estat ruïnós projectat per l'arquitecte Josep Oriol i Bernadet que havia d'esdevenir un dels balnearis més grans d'Europa, però del qual només es realitzà l'ala esquerra de tot el complex. De totes maneres en destaca la galeria de banys, als soterranis de l'edifici, amb un conjunt d'arcs i voltes pensats per a ventilar l'espai dels vapors de l'aigua termal. El 1858, al costat de l'establiment balneari, es va construir un pont de fusta sobre el riu Llobregat segons un projecte de l'arquitecte Elies Rogent, que enllaçava la Puda amb el camí d'Esparreguera.[6]
Esplendor i decadència
El balneari es va edificar el 1870 i es va anar ampliant durant les dues dècades següents. El seu moment d'esplendor va ser a finals del segle XIX i principis del XX, quan es posà de moda entre la burgesia barcelonina, que s'instal·lava a l'hotel Gori d'Olesa, amb el qual l'unia un servei permanent de diligències. Es va tancar el 1958 i el 1971 patí moltes destrosses per una crescuda del Llobregat.[1] A principis dels anys 1980, l'edifici era d'un fabricant olesà que tenia pensat reconvertir-ho en un hotel. Després el va tornar a vendre a l'ajuntament.[1] Actualment és en estat ruïnós.

After playing as Emmet on LEGO dimensions, and upgrading his excavator to the brilliant mech, I was totally inspired to create my own version.
Seeing as the model from the game uses some pieces that to the best of my knowledge don't exist, I did have to take some liberties with the design.

La Catedral de Santa María de Burgos, tercera catedral d'Espanya per les seves dimensions, després de Sevilla i Toledo, és un destacable edifici gòtic que ha sabut adaptar l'estil adornat amb flors vingut de França i d'Alemanya a l'exuberància pròpia de l'estil decoratiu espanyol. Les nombroses obres d'art que es troben a l'interior en fan un grandiós museu de l'escultura gòtica europea.
Després de la col·locació de la primera pedra per Ferran III de Castella el 1221, la construcció de la catedral s'efectua en dues grans etapes corresponents a dos estils del gòtic: la primera corresponent al segle XIII, en el que les naus i les portades són edificades per arquitectes locals segons els plànols que féu el bisbe Don Mauricio en un viatge a través de França, llavors en plena febre gòtica; i la segona al segle XV, quan una nova tungada de treballs eleva les fletxes de la façana, la capella del Condestable i la decoració de les capelles dels laterals. És llavors l'estil nòrdic que s'implanta ja que Alonso de Cartagena, un altre gran prelat de Burgos, ha portat amb ell a la seva tornada del Concili de Bâle diversos arquitectes i escultors vinguts de Flandes, de Renània i de Borgonya.
És la única catedral d'Espanya declarada Patrimoni de la Humanitat per la UNESCO.
Inspirada en les façanes de París i Reims, la façana de Santa María és la façana principal de la catedral de Burgos. En el cos inferior s'obre la portada de Santa Maria, formada per tres arcs apuntats i abocinados que acullen la Puerta Real, o del Perdón, el central, i les de l'Asunción i la Immaculada, els laterals. Aquesta portada era obra del segle XIII i, amb la seva iconografia dedicada a la Verge, estava considerada com la més important manifestació escultòrica d'estil gòtic a Castella, però el seu greu deteriorament va obligar a reconstruir austerament les portes laterals, el 1663 per Juan de Pobes, i la central, en estil neoclàssic, el 1790; en els timpans de les laterals es van col·locar els relleus de la Concepció i la Coronació, sortits de la mà de Juan de Pobes, i en els carcanyols, sengles estatuetes.
El segon cos de la part central de la façana és obra del segle XIII i en ell s'obre una rosassa d'aire cistercenc, amb traceria d'estrella de sis puntes, o de segell de Salomó. En el tercer cos del mateix carrer s'obre una elegant galeria, flanquejada per sengles agulles i diversos pinacles, i formada per dos grans finestrals amb mainells i traceria de tres òculs cuadrilobulados; sota els vuit arquets que formen els mainells d'ambdós arcs estan col·locades les estàtues dels vuit primers reis de Castella, de Ferran I a Ferran III. Corona carrer una fina barana-cresteria d'arquets ogivals sobre la qual s'alça una estàtua de la Verge amb el Nen, acompanyada de la llegenda, al·lusiva la Mare de Crist, Pulchra es et decora. Aquest remat va ser realitzat a mitjan segle XV per Juan de Colònia.
Sobre les portes laterals del primer cos s'alcen dues torres gairebé bessones del segle XIII i de tres cossos, amb pilastres decorades amb pinacles i estàtues en els seus angles, i amb decorats vans ogivals a cada cara de cada cos: un atrompetat amb mainell i traceria de óculo, tapat amb vidrieres, en el primer; 2 geminats sense mainell i sense traceria, en el segon; i dos geminats amb mainell i traceria, en el tercer.
Sobre aquestes torres, a mitjan segle XV, Juan de Colònia va elevar sengles agulles o chapiteles piramidals de base octogonal i de fins calats que van configurar definitivament la silueta de la seu burgalesa. La seva progènie suevoalemana coincideix amb el projecte de la Catedral de Colònia, que va poder conèixer el mestre Juan, si bé les agulles de la ciutat alemanya no es van realitzar fins al segle XIX. Els chapiteles burgalesos van ser aixecats amb les aportacions econòmiques del bisbe Alonso de Cartagena i del seu successor a la seu, Luis de Acuña, els blasons, juntament amb els de la monarquia castellà-lleonesa, apareixen en els ampits que connecten amb les cúspides de les torres. En aquests ampits el mestre Juan va disposar també la llegenda Pax vobis i l'escultura de Crist mostrant les petjades de la seva Passió, en un, i la llegenda Ecce agnus dei i una escultura de Sant Joan Baptista, en l'altre.
Flanquegen el conjunt de la façana dues torretes poligonals, decorades amb arquets lobulats, amb pinacles i amb estàtues i remats en agulles piramidals que ascendeixen fins a l'inici de les agulles de les torres.

It may not share too many things with "Inception" outside of a slight similarity in means of quantum teleportation, but "Source Code" does have an ending that's worthy of interpretation, much like Christopher Nolan's (much weaker) hit from last year. In fact, some of the same theories applied to "Inception" could work for Duncan Jones' new "director-for-hire" follow-up to "Moon." I'll wait until after the jump to go into details, since obviously this discussion will include spoilers. But while I do believe Jones (and maybe to a lesser degree the original screenwriter, Ben Ripley) sets up a precise idea of what happens at the end, I've already encountered people with different thoughts on it. Because of the confusion, I must note that by "two places at once" I mean within the same dimension/reality/timeline and didn't intend to dismiss the parallel worlds idea. But even with that said, I might have been confusing myself. He could technically be in two places at the same time the way there are simultaneously two Martys in 1955 in "Back to the Future," due to time travel. I just mean his consciousness itself could not be split in half. Anyway, I'm giving myself another headache.

Know that Christ’s True Presence in the Holy Eucharist is real.
When we receive the Eucharist, we are receiving the resurrected, living Christ. We are bonded to Him, transformed by Him and strengthened to live with greater charity toward our neighbor.
I Pray for people to believe in the true presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity – under the appearances of bread and wine. I pray no one will lose the opportunity to receive the Holy Eucharist in our hard times we are living in amen.
“Choose this day whom you will serve…as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
