It's the familiar good old spot of the year for fireworks season in Singapore.

Well, it's also the preparation for the Nation's birthday celebration. This year we are back in the Marina Floating Platform.

And here, I am trying out my new toys on this very season. I am still not able to fully utilise it but slowly I will - Practise make perfect.

When we went on to NOLF2 I wanted to change the face of our main character, Cate Archer, (who had been styled after Mitzi Martin because of a marketing decision from our publisher Fox Interactive) so we looked at models from the 60's and Jean Shripmpton stood out. So some of Jean's features were inspiration for Cate in NOLF2.

This is probably the coolest cooker top i have ever seen in my life! Sad i know.

But its digital and the knob is on a magnet and you lift it off and turn it to the hob you want to use, then twist as normal!

So clever, but i suppose something is bound to go wrong!
