Though we still have many inches of snow on the ground - I am looking forward to the spring rains, and for my boreal forest to come alive again with wildflowers.

Most of the fall color is on the ground now around our cabin. With that in mind I thought I'd look for a weed to photograph before Mother Nature covers everything with her fluffy white blanket. I found this fireweed stalk curled up from the cold, and found it rather interesting. Took the shot into my digital studio, and voilà - Mother Natures Art Work.

Our outside temperature dipped down to 39 degrees Fahrenheit last night, and our high temperature for today is predicted to reach 54 degrees. Autumn is quickly arriving in the far north. Doc and I have had just three short months to get ready for winter this year, since our last snowfall was exactly three months ago on the 1st of June.
