This poor old wagon looks quite out of place in our world today - but if only it could talk - I'll bet it would have quite a few tales to tell. Perhaps it was one of the wagons that made the trip from Valdez to Fairbanks in 1905. The cost for the week long trip was $150.00, and was a true test of endurance, for the wagon, as well as the passengers. Now it sits beside the Alaskan Highway - un-noticed by most who travel by.
Being that it's Sliders Sunday, I took the dahlia to Topaz Studio 2 where I added a sketch effect. I hope you enjoy! Happy Sliders Sunday! HSS!
Thank you for your visit and comment, it's much appreciated. Have a great day and upcoming week!
It has been a mild winter...
A composition of three elements:

Added is the snow covered stone and the reflection of the chickadee (lower left corner)
Eight degrees, and we are once again fogged in. Looking out my cabin window, the world looks back at me in black and white. Since I've had enough of my colorless world - I turned to my photoshop tools to enhance my bleak landscape.

Based on a 2021 shot on "parchment", an artwork by Lydie Arickx, during her exhibition entitled "arborescences", at the Castle of Chambord.
Basé sur une prise faite en 2021 sur "parchemin", enluminure sur peau de Lydie Arickx présentée au château de Chambord dans le cadre de son exposition intitulée "arborescences".
The rainy season has begun in Alaska, as our state begins its transition from summer to autumn. Here and there the last of the fireweed blossoms cling to their stalks in a desperate move to stay alive just one more day before succumbing to their inevitable fate. All too soon our boreal forest will be devoid of color, and we will once again find ourselves locked in a monochromatic world until next spring.
As of today, it has been exactly 74 days since our last significant snowfall. This has been one of the shortest summers I have experienced in this part of Alaska.

I haven't done it yet but I can just imagine taking the Charger on this epic road trip. Heading south into Monument Valley, U.S. Route 163 is definitely the stuff dreams are made of. It's endless vistas, sweeping turns, and long stretches would definitely give me (and the Charger's 150 MPH speedometer) a full workout. It would be incredible.
Original picture taken by iPhone and digitally manipulated by PicsArt App. While absent from Flickr, I have been entertaining myself using some of the free apps available to IOS and Android users. I have spent satisfying hours playing with these and loading the end result onto my Instagram page. This is just a sample from my latest offerings to show you I have not been wholly uncreative while AWOL :)
Almost never captured in images of water reflections are the fleeting moments... a dragonfly, a butterfly ...or more.
The right-side-up reflections image of the water plants was taken at the RBG gardens.
