Another manipulated photo of the wires in a phone system in the basement of a downtown Seattle hotel. As kids, we used to scavenge scraps of these colorful wires for braiding into bracelets, rings, and necklaces. (And my childhood was in the 1960's, so that's my association with the psychedelia and kid's toys,. . . ) :D

Using duplicate bookend images of the left side of this leaf closeup, I first created perfect symmetry and then reverted back to asymmetric symmetry through mosaic tile size... why not.

Since its upload yesterday, I decided that the mosaic impact on the leaf transformed it into an abstract tree and as such, I could take this image further by exhibiting the visual effect of seasonal changes from winter-to-spring-to-summer; maintaining the existing colours of the original leaf ruled-out autumn colours... again, why not.

the sum of two images... while capturing the reflections in the water I noticed a moving blur which turned out to be a spider moving across an invisible silk line two feet in front of my lens.

I adore green - prelude to spring.

By early August, wild Alaskan blueberries will be ready for picking. In fact, all of Alaska's wild berries will be harvested in August. As residents wander through the forests and hillsides in search of their favorite berries - the bears are doing the same thing. Also sharing the forest at the same time, are hunters who want to harvest their winters meat.

When you put the whole scene together - you picture; folks with buckets bending over the forest floor picking berries, as bears tiptoe by wanting their share of the fruit, and hunters with guns at the ready, in search of wild game. Now what could possibly go wrong? LOL

Happy picking and hunting to all. May your freezers be filled with Alaska's bounty.

Eleven o'clock in the morning, and the sun refuses to appear. The Wrangell Mountains were shrouded in clouds, so needless to say, it was not a good day to capture the beauty of Alaska.

The road you see in the bottom right of this photo is classified as a "highway" - but to me it is a plain two-way "road."

The place is real and so are the hues in the shadows across the ice which became more defined as I shifted color tones through the trees.

Ahhhh autumn - my favorite time of year. Between September first, to September fifteenth, the colors are at their best. (Depending on where you are in our massive state.) In my area, the dates I have given, can be counted on from year to year.

In this image you see a view of Mentasta Lake, as seen right from the edge of the road. The swans were gathering to fill their bellies in preparation their long migration south.

While many people around the world are now watching their gardens grow and looking ahead to harvest time - we in remote Alaska are watching the grasses on the forest floor change from summer greens, to browns, as they wither away and die. A sure sign that we are in the early stages of autumn. (Best viewed large)
