Today I made my first book available to patrons on Patreon. Each year I decide upon a project for the whole year. Sorta like a drawing-a-day. This year I decided to create artists books one each month. These fit on a single sheet of paper. 8.5 x 11 inches, letter-sized US.

I'm making the whole collection available for download as they are completed. I expect to have a collection of 12 books one each month.

The first book is a selection of digital drawings I made for my 2020 project called Digital Ink. This one includes a poster backside that can also be printed separately.

The collection of books is titled Foldable Dispatches and book one is titled Digital Ink.

I made a few posts about progress and share a video of how to fold and cut. The posts are public although patrons get early access.

If you are interested in having the collection you can become a patron at any level. Thanks for taking a look.

New York City, 2006

Raymond poses in just about his favorite spot in New York: Union Square. We were starting our mini-Flickrwalk from Union Square and into the East Village.

Day 12 of my 31 prompts from 31 lists drawtober!

Today is "Crow" from a witchtober list by nai.geekarts on IG

I spent more time than I meant to on this but I had a lot of fun. I might actually go back and shade it later.

So, following my afternoon with James, I met up with another friend I've made thanks to this here dang website, Ray, who was very generous in giving me some pointers on using the new camera, and even let me borrow his lens for our informal Flickr stroll through the East Village. He was able to swing the trip into Manhattan on fairly short notice. Thanks, bud!

examine ray more closely

Very small icons, with no text, and a very very reduced sensible area. It could be useful a full usability master for the guys at iRex :-)

Just after I took this shot of this young woman, sitting in in an alcove adjacent to a young couple Ray photographed here, Ray basically told me I was being a hyena to his lion, only approaching people he already had. Heh. Which was true, since I tend to be moritified at the idea of asking strangers for photos, and Ray is, well, fearless.

But it did inspire me to just ask the young Russian woman seen a few photos back here in my stream to pose for me. =)

This the iLiad at its best. It really looks like paper: no flashing, no lights, cristal clear text (see next shot for detail).

My daughter Francesca (3 yrs old) asked me to trace her right hand on "that little computer"; the touch screen response is kinda slow.

Saying goodbye to my old iPod nano... It's getting sent back to Apple this week for the recall. Poor little guy! Even though it's unlikely I would really use it again, I'll still miss having it in my gadget collection. :(

Here's it is. Not too beautiful, not too bad. Both design and ergonomics can really be improved.

This piece was inspired by Aztec and Mayan design as well as Sci Fi book covers from the 60's and 70's

The books directory. You can use the included stylo or press the up/down arrows placed bottom left.

It really seems to me that the general ergonomics has been thought for a double hand usage. And this sounds strange to whom - like yours truly - usually holds the paper book with just one hand.

This guy reminds me somewhat of the taheen from the Dark Tower (and other King works) but also of a friend of mine from back in college who made this lovely vulture mask. She'd wear it and play violin for people. I hope she's still making art, but to be honest I haven't heard from her in over a year :\
