50015 'Valiant' BR Class 50 Co-Co @ Bolton Street, East Lancashire Railway on Friday 19th August 2022. Arriving in Bury with an afternoon passenger train, ever present 50015 pauses briefly before moving on to Heywood.
Having found the perfect spot to get a picture of the North Pole Express steam train, returning from its morning trip to Ashley, i waited for about 45 minutes. Then i heard the whistle and saw the light down the track. Next thing i know this diesel loco is pulling the train, because they don't have a way to put the 1225 steam loco back in front in Ashley.

Strong winds are whipping up a bit of a dust haze at Yorkeys Crossing, South Australia, as Aurizon locos GWB105/ GWB102 head north with #6913 empty iron ore for Wirrida on Sunday 3 September 2023.
The 4350hp EMD model GT46C-ACE is in use with several operators in Australia, most previously having been built in Australia. However, production of recent units, including these GWBs, has shifted to Progress Rail in the USA.

A 4 pack of leased CN GP38's haul the daily Lakeland and Waterways freight south at Abee Alberta. By the time I ventured out to the Rail Link owned branchlines north of Edmonton, they had all but given up on their own power preferring to lease units form CN. In a few years the line would be re acquired by CN, and rail upgraded to finally handle bigger 6 axle power.
Signifying that the engine on the tractor (not pictured) is a Diesel engine. I love my signs :)
I think all those dots are either engine filth or mosquitos.
