Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably a dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota". In the Manarolese dialect this was changed to "magna roea" which means "large wheel", in reference to the mill wheel in the town.

Manarola's primary industries have traditionally been fishing and wine-making. The local wine, called Sciacchetrà, is especially renowned; references from Roman writings mention the high quality of the wine produced in the region. In recent years, Manarola and its neighboring towns have become popular tourist destinations, particularly in the summer months. Tourist attractions in the region include a famous walking trail between Manarola and Riomaggiore (called Via dell'Amore, "Love's Trail") and hiking trails in the hills and vineyards above the town. Manarola is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre. Most of the houses are bright and colourful. Manarola was celebrated in paintings by Antonio Discovolo (1874–1956).

Ezekiel 31:15 “This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘On the day that it descended into Sheol, I shut down its water supplies, covered over its deep water, and shut down its rivers. As a result its abundant water sources dried up, and I caused Lebanon to mourn for it. All the trees of the field wilted because of it.’”

“The United States Military just entered the Great State of California and, under Emergency Powers, TURNED ON THE WATER flowing abundantly from the Pacific Northwest, and beyond. The days of putting a Fake Environmental argument, over the PEOPLE, are OVER. Enjoy the water, California!!!” –

Donald J. Trump

Shutting off the water: this is the United Nations’ Agenda 21—sustainable development—in action in California. You know their dialectic: problem, reaction, solution. Their manufactured problem (PSYOP)—the boogeyman in the closet—is climate change. Their solution: net-zero. They will cut off fossil fuels and lock me away in my 15-munite city neighbourhood (gulag archipelago): good-bye freedom of movement. They will silence my pro-fossil fuel speech, labeling it as mal-dis-mis information: good-bye free speech. Then comes the climate lockdowns: good-bye freedom of assembly. The end result: I will own nothing and be happy. All of us will be equally poor. Equality for all! Anti-civilization…anti-human…woohoo!

In this post-Christian era, the rise of nihilism will lead to an authoritarian system that revolves around surveillance and data: digital IDs, biometrics, digital currencies, and social credit scores. Nihilistic Darwinism will ensue, resulting in genocide: “Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.” People already accept social Darwinism: euthanasia and abortion. What about covid? Oh, I guess you are too dumb to understand that one! What happened during covid was an eye-opener. Nowadays people lack moral fortitude. They are fearful and cowardly. They can be easily whipped up into an authoritarian mode. They have lost all commonsense and discernment. Their consciences have been seared.

Deconstructing the moral foundations of the West will only destroy it. When this happens, you can kiss democracy and free market capitalism good-bye! At the moment, we only have a resemblance—a counterfeit—of the two. We, however, will soon lose both. Once gone, they will be lost forever—the boot on the face of humanity. As for me: my hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ! God’s moral laws are perfect! If you disagree, you are a sinner…buahahaha!

A colourful Halloween Tribute for the 31st Oct 2024

The juxtaposition of dominant reds with intense blues and biting yellows is not merely a chromatic exercise but an intentional invocation of in depth physical dynamics.

The red, historically emblematic of revolutionary zeal, is here transmuted into an image of territorial encroachment, symbolizing the blood of land workers who toiled here in harsh conditions.

The compositional tension between this red and the contrasting yellow and blue functions as a visual dialectic, evoking the material conflicts of occupation and sovereignty that are as much corporeal as they are ideological.

Wikipedia: The Cinque Terre (Italian pronunciation: [ˌtʃinkwe ˈtɛrːe]) is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre area is a very popular tourist destination. Tourist attractions in the region include a famous walking trail between Manarola and Riomaggiore (called Via dell'Amore, "Love's Trail") and hiking trails in the hills and vineyards above the town.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Totalitarianism is not a historical coincidence. In the final analysis, it is the logical consequence of mechanistic thinking and the delusional belief in the omnipotence of human rationality. As such, totalitarianism is the defining feature of the Enlightenment tradition.” ‒ Mattias Desmet

Totalitarianism is a product of the Enlightenment tradition. It places faith in human rationality. It’s a belief system in which man’s intellect can save man, the world, and the universe. Man will solve man’s problems, thus bringing salvation to mankind. Its priests desire to form a new society built on rationality. They want a world without pain and suffering. They even want to conquer death. Science, man’s new religion, has its own creation story. In this story, man has been reduced to particles that interact according to the laws of mechanics. Life and mankind were randomly produced without any purpose or direction. Man is seen as a machine; he works (repetitively) as a machine; he will merge with machine. The universe is also a machine, and it too will eventually be manipulated. The spiritual elect of this religion look forward to an artificial heaven on earth, where man and nature have been replaced by perfect technological clones. Once this happens, man will have conquered both man and nature. He will then gain eternal life. He will synthetically live forever. “Amen and Hallelujah!” shout the transhumanists. As a result, the totalitarians will have realized their goal of a superman/super race like the New Soviet Man/Aryan Race. The idolatry of science, which aims to create a perfect world, will ultimately result in a dystopian nightmare. Their rationality will become irrational. Secular humanism will fail.

“Man is at last becoming aware that he alone is responsible for the realization of the world of his dreams, that he has within himself the power for its achievement.” – Humanist Manifesto I

With science came technological advancement. These advances separated man from nature, tradition, and family. The industrial revolution changed the social fabric of society. Before industrialization, most families lived in rural areas and did agricultural work. The family worked together to support itself. Multiple generations lived together in the same area. Extended families were an important part of society. After industrialization, many families moved to urban areas and did manufacturing work. They became cogs in the machine, working meaningless jobs. This movement split up the extended family unit. Then there was one: the nuclear family. “The dynamics of industrialization contributed to the rise of single-parent families. Factors such as increased divorce rates, the normalization of out-of-wedlock childbirth, and the empowerment of women to raise children independently all played a role in this shift.” As you can see, the nuclear family has not fared too well. Technology produced the radio, television, and social media, which have created an antisocial society. Technology was supposed to make life easier; it was supposed to make us happier, yet it has made us lonely and unhappy. Society has lost its meaning. People come home from meaningless jobs, only to live meaningless social lives online. Wolves chase after those separated from the herd, because they are easy targets. When the isolated are rounded up and killed, no one will fight for them because they are isolated from the herd. Those who are alone and isolated will be seen as useless eaters by their enemies. “To keep you is no gain; to kill you is no loss.” Indeed, a lonely society is very prone to accepting totalitarianism.

The Enlightenment was supposed to empower us, yet we have become more powerless. The Enlightenment was supposed to make us more independent, yet we have become more dependent. Plus, technology is controlled by the few. With science, a perfect artificial world is being built. It’s creating a fake Garden of Eden that is full of genetically modified foods, lab-grown meat, sex dolls that look like Eve, and synthetic-fiber clothing to hide our naked bodies of sin. Don’t eat the genetically modified fruit, it will kill you! Automated machines, robots, and artificial intelligence will replace man’s toil. Artificial wombs will replace the pain of childbirth. The digital paradise being constructed dehumanizes us. It steals our humanity. It makes us insecure, unempathetic, narcissistic, apathetic, cowardly, lonely, and isolated. An insecure society is less resilient. An insecure society is easier to control. An unempathetic, narcissistic, apathetic, and cowardly society will look the other way when people are rounded up and killed. A lonely and isolated society is weak and submissive. They feel empty and meaningless, and they have little self-worth. Such a society yearns for direction and authority. They are weak and lazy and want someone (the state) to take care of them.

We have a dumbed-down society. The education system teaches us how to be cogs in the machine. Mass media is a giant propaganda machine, indoctrinating the masses. The ignorant zombies have been trained to listen to the experts. These experts lead the sheep with twisted data and statistics. Thus, the people are easily led. Safety: give up your freedom of privacy to fight terror. Misinformation: give up your freedom of speech to fight hate speech. 15-minute cities: give up your freedom of movement to fight climate change. Mass immigration: give up your culture for multiculturalism. Abortion is women’s health. Euthanasia is good. By the way, how many genders are there? Society has been molded and shaped. You have been taught what to think, not how to think.

“I don’t want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers.” ‒ John D. Rockefeller

Students have been indoctrinated and radicalized by feminism, gender theory, critical race theory, and decolonialism. The goal: abolish women, gender, race, borders and nations. All hail the tranhumanist new world order! The youth are taught that capitalism is bad and socialism is good. They’ve been taught to hate their own country, traditions, values, and culture. They’ve been taught to hate their own race! Humiliation is a tool of control to shape and guide them. If a person loses their identity, they can be easily manipulated and brainwashed. Our youth have been taught that a communist revolution is necessary to overthrow capitalism. The end justifies the means! Therefore, radicals in the education system have raised up an army of woke activists. These woke evangelists have been poisoned by envy, hate, and bitterness. It doesn’t help that subversive billionaires are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into supposed ‘organic’ protests, which are being organized by professional protesters (communist agitators). Wokeism is the new puritan movement of today, with its moral values and commandments. These born-again socialists preach the dialectic gospel of social(ist) justice and equality. These radicalized saints promise a perfect world. A radicalized society is prone to accepting totalitarianism. In fact, it’s extremely prone to accepting totalitarianism. Especially when the youth are radicalized!

“Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.” ‒ Vladimir Lenin

Science, the religion of the day, has become corrupted. Fraud in scientific research is increasing. Falsified scientific papers are becoming more and more common. The perception of reality can be steered by crunching numbers in any desired fashion. (Climate change data is famous for distorting numbers.) Totalitarians mold the perception of reality with propaganda. The COVID-19 hysteria, with its “follow the science,” was proof of its degeneration. People blindly became disciples of the experts. Their apostles commanded: Mask up, even though it’s ineffective! Social distance, even though it’s useless! Take a PCR test, even though it’s unreliable! Take the vaccines, even though they haven’t been properly tested! Ivermectin is bad, even though it can help some patients! The population must be locked down, even though it’s physically and mentally bad for their health and weakens their immune system! Herd immunity, what’s that? Small businesses must be shutdown, even though big corporations like Walmart can stay open! Schools must be shut down, even though the average age of death is 70+ years old! Fire the unvaccinated healthcare workers, even though the emergency rooms are supposedly full and short-staffed! TicTok nurses! Dance, baby, dance! We’re in a pandemic, can’t you see!?! Falsely mark down unrelated deaths as COVID deaths—beef up those numbers! Big numbers, big money! Since this is science, we must suppress opposing ideas! Science that censors different opinions is not science. Much of society faithfully trusted the science, with its religious experts and scientific doctrines, numbers and graphs. In Nazi Germany, children were conditioned to accept any form of authority without question. Without question, many people blindly obeyed the COVID restrictions. To this day, some people mask up in public. They are religious zealots! They still haven’t woken up from their indoctrination. The science of today: take a big pharma flu shot, rather than rely on your own immune system; take a big pharma flu shot, rather than eat foods that are high in antioxidants like vitamin C. Could you not just find a natural vitamin C supplement? Nope! We love big pharma! We love big corporations! We love Big Brother! We love fascism! Since you’ve been trained to be a consumer, you’ll consume what has been marketed to you. Oh, the science of propaganda! Ah, the science of marketing!

“Scientism has remained to this day one of the strongest Gnostic movements in Western society.” – Eric Voegelin

During COVID-19, people were not only begging for totalitarian measures, but they were applauding them. They wanted strict rules to ease their uncertainty, fear, and insecurity. They coped with their insecurity by running others down. The big bad enemies were not the Jews, but the unvaccinated. Fear needs an enemy! People were calling for the unvaccinated to be rounded up. Some even wanted the unvaccinated killed. This made them feel more secure, like they had the upper hand. They had the camaraderie of the mob; they felt like they belonged! The extra rules helped ease their anxiety. They felt more in control of their fear. The fellowship of the mob helped to further ease their stress and insecurity. There is security in numbers! They rebuked, denounced, and excommunicated heretical friends and relatives who strayed from the holy narrative. They felt righteous, because they were supposedly fighting for a righteous cause. This made them feel virtuous. They were crusaders for the truth, and they felt heroic! They felt relief as they took out their frustrations on their enemies. They blew off steam! They felt good! They felt energized!

These people had an authoritarian mindset. Their true selves, their true natures, came to the surface. They had a mob mentality. They had a pack mentality. These people were so filled with fear, hysteria, and panic that they could not think straight. They lost their ability to calm down and think things through. They could not regulate their fears and emotions. As a result, they could not think critically. How can one think critically in a panic? In fact, since they were taught to be cogs in the machine, they weren’t really taught to be critical thinkers. Just as a child must learn how to walk, a child must be taught how to critically think. They were taught to solve problems related to the machine, but they were not taught to think outside the machine. That is why they say things like: I support free speech, ‘but’ not hate speech. They don’t even understand how speech operates under the framework of free speech. They literally can’t understand the concept of free speech! It’s over their heads. Will these people ever change? Nope, I’ve yet to see any of them apologize for their actions during COVID. Given the right crisis, our society will accept totalitarianism.

Big government, with its increased bureaucracy, administration, and management, loves to make ever-increasing rules and regulations. We are drawing closer and closer to totalitarianism. We will soon have a totalitarian system with digital biometric IDs, central bank digital currencies, and social credit scores. We are becoming a total surveillance society. Our data is being collected, tracked, analyzed, and sold. COVID caused a worldwide hypnosis, a mass hysteria, in which the masses were ready to trade their freedoms for safety. Nothing much has changed. The world’s population is slowly being boiled like a frog; it’s slowly being corralled into a worldwide authoritarian system. Like Nazi Germany, many today would pick totalitarianism if they were promised economic solutions in a time of financial hardship. If we had another great depression like the 1930s, many in our decadent society would pick a totalitarian system. They would choose digital IDs, CBDCs, and social credit scores if they could receive universal basic income to feed their families. Is it really a stretch to see why people would accept the Mark of the Beast?

In the fourth industrial revolution, man will physically merge with technology. Of course, this technology is supposed to make man smarter and healthier. It’s supposed to turn man into the perfect superman. How can the imperfect make the perfect? Man is an imperfect sinner. He has sinned against God. God is perfect, and sin is imperfect. Perfection and imperfection do not mix. Righteousness and sin do not mix. Light expels darkness, God expels sin. God’s punishment for sin is death. God will permit sinful man to utilize his strength and rationality to attempt to work out his own salvation. Ultimately, man will fail. Christ will return to stop man from destroying all life on earth at the battle of Armageddon (Matthew 24:22). Jesus will destroy those who, in their sin, are destroying the earth (Revelation 11:18). Jesus first came as a sacrificial Lamb for the atonement of sins. The second time, Jesus will come as a roaring lion to destroy His enemies. His enemies will choose His imposter, the antichrist. They will accept the transhuman Mark of the Beast. As a result, they will forfeit salvation. Only in Christ (the perfect sacrifice) is sin forgiven. Will you accept His salvation? Or will you try, in your sin, to work out your own salvation?

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him, and he with Me.”

Manarola. Cinque Terre.

Manarola (Manaea in the local dialect) is a small town, a frazione of the comune (municipality) of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is the second smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns frequented by tourists.Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota".

Manarola is one of the five villages. Mostly all of the houses are bright and colourful.

Viewed from Etzel Pass. The two pointy mountains to the left are Grosser Mythen (left) and Kleiner Mythen (right).

"The Grosser Mythen (also Grosse Mythe) is a mountain in the Schwyzer Alps of Central Switzerland. The mountain lies in the canton of Schwyz, to the east of the town of Schwyz, and to the south of the village of Alpthal in the valley of the river Alp.

It is accessible from the Holzegg by a hiking trail which is opened during the summer months only. Geologically the Mythen is a penninic Klippe.

The name is pronounced [ˈmiːtən]; it is in origin the plural referring to the Grosser and Kleiner Mythen collectively, each of which had the name Mythe (feminine) in the singular. The name is unrelated to the now-homographic German word for "myth"; Weibel (1973) derives it from Latin meta "cone, pyramid". Until the late 19th century, the name of the mountain was still feminine, die Grosse Mythe; after c. 1870, the masculine gender became increasingly common in written German although dialectically the feminine remains current.

The Schwyz Alps (German: Schwyzer Alpen) are a mountain range in Switzerland. They form part of the North-Eastern Swiss Alps and are bordered by the Glarus Alps to the east, the Appenzell Alps to the north-east, the Emmental Alps in the west, and the Uri Alps to the south-west. The Klausen Pass is the highest point between the Schwyz Alps and the Glarus Alps.

The Schwyzer Alps extend beyond the boundaries of the canton of Schwyz, including parts of the cantons of Glarus, Luzern, Uri and Zug. The highest point in the Schwyzer Alps is the Glärnisch, at an elevation of 2,915 metres (9,564 ft), which actually lies within the canton of Glarus. Just south of the Glärnisch is the Bös Fulen, the highest point in the canton of Schwyz." - info from Wikipedia.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The No Big Heads Self Portrait Exhibition is open to all artists. Works must be no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches in any direction, including framing and hanging materials.

JUROR: Christina Seely

Interested in human understandings of time and the natural world, Christina Seely’s expedition based work explores global systems, both built and natural, and finds its home in the conversation between the photographic image and our contemporary relationship with the planet.

Embedded in the work is a dialectic between the surface documentation of representative media and the complex reality that lies beyond that surface – how beauty can suggest the simple and ideal while both subtly reflecting and obscuring an often darker more complicated truth.

An experiential examination of our relationship to time and the natural world makes up the root of her practice. While the work culminates in photographic, textual, collaborative and performative translations it is guided by both the potentials of the photographic medium as an artistic tool and its deconstruction as a dominating cultural syntax.

This elegantly sculpted and strikingly curvaceous project by Estudio Barozzi Veiga was built in 2011 on a privileged site in front of "Las Delicias" beach of Águilas (Murcia, Spain). The Auditorium and Congress Palace "Infanta Doña Elena" is included within an innovative very widespread tendency in Spanish architecture in the last years, which tries to relate architecture to the specific particularities and singularities of its location site.

In the architect's own words, the project is a natural response to the particular stimulus, offered by the location. On one hand the need to respect the urban tissue that growths inside, on the other, the one’s to preserve the expressive hue of the natural landscape.

It is through this contrast, that we define and articulate tensions that allow the project to organize itself while a coherent response to the constraints of place. The building is a dialectic reflection, simple but at the same time strong, between the urban artificiality and the organic naturalness.

Thus, the building results in a large mass, shaped in function of the tensions that proceeds from the different character of the spaces surround it. Tangent to the town, the facades are clean, orderly and paused, while tangent to the sea, the facades translate the surrounding space and the configuration offered by the landscape and geography, through large and concave surfaces, that provides a direct and intensive relation with the surrounding natural environment.

Tiger and Turtle, through the dialectic of speed and stillness, is referring to the upheaval situation in the region and its change through dismantling and restructuring. By sculpturing the absurdity of the image of the roller coaster, the sculpture reflects its own role as a potential supraregional landmark, which is inevitably taken as an image. It counteracts the logic of eternal growth with an absurdly contradictory structure that opposes a clear interpretation. "

Logic can either operate as part of an intellection, or else, on the contrary, put itself at the service of an error; moreover unintelligence can diminish or even nullify logic, so that philosophy can in fact become the vehicle of almost anything: it can be an Aristotelianism carrying ontological insights, just as it can degenerate into an "existentialism" in which logic has become a mere shadow of itself, a blind and unreal operation.

Indeed, what can be said of a "metaphysic" which idiotically posits man at the centre of the Real, like a sack of coal, and which operates with such blatantly subjective and conjectural concepts as "worry" and "anguish"? When unintelligence (and the variety we mean here is in no wise incompatible with what passes for intelligence in "worldly" circles) and passion prostitute logic, it is impossible to escape from that mental satanism which is so frequently to be found in contemporary thought.

The validity of a logical demonstration thus depends on the knowledge which we, as demonstrators, have of the subject in view, and it is evidently wrong to take as our starting-point not this direct knowledge but pure and simple logic.

When man has no "visionary" knowledge of Being, and merely "thinks" with his "brain" instead of "seeing" with his "heart", all his logic is useless to him, because it starts out from an initial fallacy. Moreover, the validity of a demonstration must be distinguished from its dialectical efficacy; the latter evidently depends on the intuitive disposition available for the recognition of truth when demonstrated, and therefore on an intellectual capacity.

Logic is nothing but the science of mental co-ordination and of arriving at rational conclusions; it cannot, therefore, attain the transcendent through its own resources; a supralogical -not an illogical- dialectic, based on symbolism and analogy, and therefore descriptive rather than ratiocinative, may be harder for some people to assimilate, but it conforms more closely to transcendent Reality.

Contemporary philosophy, on the other hand, really amounts to a decapitated logic: what is intellectually evident it calls "prejudice"; wishing to free itself from servitude to the mental, it sinks into infralogic; shutting itself off from the intellectual light above, it exposes itself to the obscurity of the lowest "subconscious" beneath.

Philosophic scepticism takes itself for a healthy attitude and for an absence of "prejudices", whereas it is in fact something completely artificial; it proceeds, not from real knowledge, but from sheer ignorance, and for this reason it is as alien to intelligence as it is to reality.

"In this stillness that is at the same time movement, in this darkness that is at the same time light, change is found not in the realm of ideas but in the energizing desire that is realized through precipitation. Desire tends towards its own realization and change takes place when the desire for it shatters the bounds of the possible, breaking the dialectical equilibrium holding together the framework of what is existent. It is at such moments that the imaginary flows into the real and overwhelms it, inundating it until it has been absorbed."

In loving memory of Paul Walker

“But as for certain truth, no man has known it,

Nor will he know it; neither of the Gods

Nor yet of all the things of which I speak.

And even if by chance he were to utter

The perfect truth, he would himself not know it;

For all is but a woven web of guesses.” [Parmenides]

The ancient Porta Ticinese is one of the three medieval gates of the city that still exist in modern Milan, together with the medieval Porta Nuova in Manzoni street and the Pusterla di Sant'Ambrogio. Originally built in the twelfth century, the structure of Porta Ticinese was restored in 1861 by Camillo Boito, who inserted two lateral arches next to the only original access.

The medieval Porta Ticinese is sited near the Basilica of Saint Lawrence and the homonymous Saint Lawrence columns. Among the city's population it was commonly referred to as "Porta Cicca" or "porta Snesa". The first is the adaptation of the Spanish word "chica", meaning little girl, since the gate was the only one having just one access, whereas the latter is a dialectical form of its name.

There is another gate also called "Porta Ticinese" in the same district of Milan. This other gate is more recent, having been originally built in the 16th century and then replaced in the 19th century.

The one thing I really liked about visiting Cinque Terre was all the available places to take incredible shots both by land and from the water. On our last day in the Cinque Terre region we saw all the villages by boat sailing down along the coast.

Manarola (Manaea in the local dialect) is a small town, a frazione of the comune (municipality) of Riomaggiore, in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northern Italy. It is the second smallest of the famous Cinque Terre towns frequented by tourists.

Manarola may be the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the church, San Lorenzo, dating from 1338. The local dialect is Manarolese, which is marginally different from the dialects in the nearby area. The name "Manarola" is probably dialectical evolution of the Latin, "magna rota".

Manarola is one of the five villages. Mostly all of the houses are bright and colourful. Manarola was celebrated in paintings by Antonio Discovolo (1874-1956). - From Wikipedia

Here Paola appears in a old shed carrying a pair of baby booties with a hydraulic cart, in a metaphor about the weight - even if composed of love - of the responsibility of raising a child.

On the same diagonal line of life appears very discreetly the Darwin´s book "The Origin of Species" which reflects our dialectical-materialist view of motherhood.

The mother-to-be is heading toward the light, which is her naturally way.

She is also naked, but not completely because of boots, which also metaphorically ironizes the hypocritical view of pregnant woman.

The main focus is on the wall in the background, representing the aridity of the pregnant woman's walk.

The picture has no colors, because gestation is not a colorful phase for women, despite the male vision preaching the opposite; it is a complicated time in a woman's life, with difficulty walking, nausea, hormonal changes, medical monitoring and anxiety - both in relation to childbirth and the health of her child.

From the Artist's Statement:

My work explores the relationship between multiculturalism and UFO sightings. With influences as diverse as Kafka and Francis Bacon, new combinations are crafted from both opaque and transparent structures.

Ever since I was a teenager I have been fascinated by the endless oscillation of meaning. Yearning is manipulated into a dialectic of power, creating a sense of dread and the dawn of a new understanding.

As an Artist, I have been compelled to represent the ephemeral nature of the moment. What starts out as hope soon becomes corrupted into a manifesto of lust, leaving only a sense of decadence and the possibility of a new beginning.

As temporal derivatives become reconfigured through frantic and repetitive practice, the viewer is left with a tribute to the possibilities of our era.

“Tie A String Around the World”, the theme of the Philippines Pavilion, revolves around the concept of the Philippines as a tropical heterotopia, a real space of crises where utopia – the myth of civilization and the project of progress – is simultaneously represented, negotiated and/or subverted. Emerging from the desire to explore, problematise, and understand the political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental contexts of the late 20th century up to the 21st century that engendered both the development and devastation of the nation and the gathering and dispersal of its peoples through contemporary visual practice, the Philippine Pavilion in Venice signifies not necessarily suspension and fragmentation, but a dialectical dynamism.

Took several shots, hard to be sure of orthogonality and visibility of dark words against dark background. Shopkeeper emerged, with a skeptical look. I explained, in English (with relevant gestures),

“I know a woman …

(eyes averted, gathering a memory)

Whose husband is very robust …

(Chest puffed up).

She wears a t-shirt, which reads …

(Dragging a finger across my chest)

‘Dibs on the Cowboy’.

This is for her.”

We exchanged smiles.”

Study of the day:

The observation method could not start from language without admitting this principled truth that, in what can situate as Real, the language does not appear as making hole. It is from this notion, hole function, that the language operates his grip on the Real. (...) There is no truth as such possible without to hollow out the Real.

Utagawa Hiroshige (Edo, 1797 - Edo, 12 October 1858) The Kinryūsan temple at Asakusa in snow (around 1848-49) - Boston Museum of Fine Arts - exhibition “Hokusai, Hiroshige, Hasui: Journey through a Changing Japan” - Pinacoteca Agnelli, Turin

Together with Hokusai he is considered one of the main Japanese landscape painters of the nineteenth century and among the most famous representatives of the Ukiyo-e artistic movement. Hiroshige's artistic production includes several genres, including prints of actors, warriors, courtesans, but the main object of his art was nature in its multiple expressions. The contemplation of nature and the subsequent morphologically harmonic representation is what distinguishes Hiroshige from the other painters-engravers of his time, creating a dialectic between the finite and the infinite, that is the human feeling arising from the almost religious listening of nature and the breath of the cosmos. Throughout his life Hiroshige created about 400 engravings. Hiroshige's most famous series is "Edo's 100 Famous Views". Hiroshige had extraordinary influence on European painting of the late nineteenth century. Mainly this influence manifested itself on impressionism and post-impressionism, being imitated by several artists, including Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh.

I didn’t really understand Sartre’s “Nausea” in high school, but it struck a chord. Decades later, my Scholar reports that Existentialism is considered just another European school by American academia, not particularly central to modern Philosophy. So it goes.

Happy Thoughtful Thursday!

Wokeism is a socialist religious awakening, a cult enlightenment.

Wokism in the West has many similarities to the Struggle Sessions in Maoist China during the Cultural Revolution. This Western neo-Maoism is a softer cultural revolution than what happened in China. However, in the end, it will get violent too.

Diversity training is like a Chinese revolution Struggle Session. Apologize for being white. Apologise for having some sort of (fake) hidden racism. Renounce yourself! Apologize! Bow and take a knee! Can anyone say: brain washing? It’s like your being demoralised in a mentally abusive relationship. If you let this psychological abuse continue, you will end up becoming a shell of yourself. Character assassination anyone? Like cracks in a dam, these communist tactics will wreak havoc on your mind. Anything you say or do will be used against you in the court of the radicalized mob—the woke Red Guards. Though they accuse you of fake crimes and fake problems, don’t let them bully you. Get out of that abusive relationship. These radicalized people are full of bitterness and hate, because they themselves are compromised.

Schools have become rededication camps, brainwashing the students with Critical Race Theory and Gender Theory. The youth were the revolutionaries, the Red Guards in the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The oppressed vs the oppressors! Let’s purge society of the Four Olds: Old Culture, Old Ideas, Old Habits, and Old Customs. We must destroy you, so that we can mold you into a woke Marxist revolutionary. Let’s riot, burn and loot! Let’s tear down historical statues! We must destroy your democratic system, so that we can install our authoritarian system.

“You have been trained to hate, allegedly in the name of stopping hate.” You have been radicalized, you have become activists. You are change agents, useful idiots who we will be disposed of when you have served your purposes. As the dialectic moves on, you will one day become a liability—utterly disposable. The dialectic: “Manufacture the conflict, use the conflict, and move history with the conflict through our kind of social alchemy” (problem, reaction, solution).

What if a stranger came up to your children and talked to them about sexual issues, and then told your children not to tell you (the parent) what they said? It’s our little secret!!! Wouldn’t you tell your children to stay away from bad people (predators) like them, because they are creeps and perverts? So why is it appropriate for schools and teachers to tell your children not to tell you (the parents) about the sexual indoctrination they are receiving? Why are they trying to hide what they are doing with your children? Hormone blockers anyone!?! The fact that they have to hide these things says it all! With the blatant loss of commonsense these days, there are many people who don’t care to understand what sexual grooming is. It’s no different then promoting adult sexual fetishes (adult entertainment) to children. Come on children, let’s watch a grown man dress up as a woman and dance in a sexual manner—it’s good for you. These deviants are not only grooming our children to be used for their future sexual desires (LGBTQ + Pedophiles: they will continue to add to the “plus”, because the Hegelian Dialectic is ever moving forward and expanding), they are also grooming our children to be the next Red Guards (who will enforce the latest and greatest thing in woke-Marxism [Cultural Marxism; Cultural Revolution]). Any kind of abuse, including sexual abuse, can be used in trauma-based mind control. Perverting the minds of the child: how could this not go wrong? “Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.” “Bad things happen when good people pretend nothing is wrong.” “Bad things happen if good people do nothing.” “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

A school board in Quebec spent $1,600 dollars for a drag queen conference in school. Overcrowded classrooms…who cares! Teacher shortages…who cares! Reading, writing, and arithmetic…who cares! Exposing children to perverted adult fetishes…two thumbs up, we’ve got the money!! Children aren’t legally old enough to drive. Children aren’t legally old enough to vote. They aren’t legally old enough to buy alcohol. They aren’t legally old enough to go to the bar. They aren’t legally old enough to get a tattoo. They aren’t legally old enough to walk into a porn shop and buy porn. They aren’t legally old enough to go to a strip club…but hey…they can watch transvestites dance around like strippers…it’s perfectly legal…it’s perfectly fine…it’s perfectly normal…it’s perfectly moral. And if you disagree with us grooming your children, then you are an non-inclusive bigot! Woohoo…the inclusiveness of the non-inclusive bigots (bullies)! Wokeism: hypocrisy at its finest!! Are these woke neo-Maoist’s going to have an Anti-Rightist Campaign too…buhahaha!!

As any normal sane person can see, the world is turning upside down. Authoritarianism is coming, and when it fully blossoms it will have a leader—the antichrist. As with all authoritarianism, there will be lots of brutality, death and murder. The hallmark of this coming techno-authoritarianism will be this: it will behead its enemies.

“I also saw the people who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the Beast or his Image, and who had not accepted the Mark on their foreheads or their hands.”

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.”

This authoritarian regime will be full of murder, sexual immorality, occultism, and theft.

“And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.”

As the Bible warns: it will be the worst time the world will ever see!

“For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.”

You are being deceived/socially engineered/groomed for this coming authoritarianism. Soon we will each have a Biometric Digital ID that will be connected to a Social Credit Score and linked to a Central Bank Digital Currency and a Digital Wallet. After this stuff is fully implemented, they will eventually come out with a smartchip (666). Once you accept this smartchip your eternity will be sealed.

“And the smoke of their torment will go up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the Beast and his Image, or anyone who receives the Mark of his name.”

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

“Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.”

Sin is mental illness, and Jesus is the cure!
