April 2015 earthquake: I have enjoyed Nepal, the vibrancy of Kathmandu, its monuments and its people and I feel for them at this time. If you are going to use any of my images on your blogs, reports, publications etc. please consider giving a donation to help the country and its people. My preferred charity is Medicins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (www.msf.org,uk or www.msf.ch or other national sites)

Devotion LK 801. Lerwick Harbour, Lerwick, Shetland.

Keeping the tradition alive in Sade village, a traditional Sasak village just north of Kuta Lombok, an old woman is working on a traditional Sasak cloth. After my return from this village I saw this old woman in postcards about Lombok. Looks like she's been doing it for decades.

Gayle played the blues. She loved her family and friends. She also was a talented golfer. She used to tell a charming story about how she sat on Clint Eastwood’s lap once. Gayle taught me the importance of music in life.

"With my tears,

I watered the creeper of love that I planted;

Now the creeper has grown spread all over,

and borne the fruit of bliss.

The churner of the milk churned with great love.

When I took out the butter,

no need to drink any buttermilk.

I came for the sake of love-devotion;

seeing the world, I wept. "

The title of this picture comes from the inscription "Vota Vita Mea" on the statue in the foreground. It's meaning is " I am devoted "

Welcome to a night in the office from hell.

It’s 1983 and in an abandoned workplace in the Midlands, two solitary clerical workers sit down at their desks to begin a routine night shift. But as the evening creeps into the night, a confidential file is accidentally opened and a quietly horrifying secret is unleashed. A secret that’ll soon turn their lives of rotas, packed lunches and fag breaks violently upside down and the workers, against each other.

A fantasy thriller with a pounding 1980s soundtrack, Stoke-on-Trent’s Potboiler Theatre invite you to a world of ruthless ambition, desperate escapism and deeply held desires: a world of Devotion.

Devotion was supported with funding from National Lottery through Arts Council England and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. With thanks also to New Vic Theatre, Mitchell Arts Centre and Moonbrushed Media.

In 14th century Hampi, Karnataka Purandara Das’ heart ignited in devotion to the Lord, but he was not always so saintly. He was born into a rich and wealthy family, yet the samskaras of the past overtook him and he became a very greedy miser. This changed after a surprise visit from a brahmin who happened to be Vitthala Himself. This meeting led to a series of events that would change his life forever. It shows how Bhagavan never forgets the relationship He has with His devotees—He always finds ways to remind us of our relationship with Him, just as He did with Purandara Das.
