Taken on the grounds of a Buddhist temple, I have no idea what the significance is of this monk figure. In the background is a newly completed neighboring Chinese temple.
Devotees of Virgin Mary of Simala lining up under the heat of the sun. And im in the shade waiting for them to go inside. :)
Crown of Maria Santísima de la Esperanza Macarena (Macarena, Virgin of Hope).
It's been a while... My camera died and had to wait a few months to buy another one. Now I'm back on track and trying to learn with my new baby.
This Nun did not look up as many tourists walked past her when I was at Ankor Wat. I wonder why she sat there and I know only mindfulness was going through her Buddhist brain ;)
I wasn't sure about posting for want of better photographic quality. But the emotion is rife!
One of the side panels at the Altar of the Visitation. Just lovely. Catedral de Sevilla, Sevilla, Spain.
"A boy's best friend is his mother."

STATIONS: Ancient devotion fosters deeper reflection on Christ
By J.D. Long-García, The Catholic Sun
February 21, 2008
Centuries ago, Christians began visiting the Holy Land to walk the Way of the Cross — 14 stations that commemorate the final steps Jesus Christ took on His way to Cavalry.
Some 500 years ago Franciscans began popularizing the devotion — also know also as the Via Dolorosa, or way of suffering — setting up Stations of the Cross at parishes throughout Europe.
“Everyone wanted to go to Jerusalem, so the Franciscans made that journey real for the people right where they were living,” said Franciscan Father Vincent Mesi, pastor of St. Mary’s Basilica.
Every Friday during Lent, Catholics throughout the diocese are walking with Christ by meditating on His passion at their local parish.
Around 40 parishioners turned out for the Feb. 8 Stations at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral.

I spotted this statue through te window of the house next to the chapel at Begijnhof.
I got the following info from Wikipedia:
The Begijnhof is one of the oldest inner courts in Amsterdam, originally a Beguinage, founded in the middle ages. Today it is also the site of the English Reformed Church. The Begijnhof (Beguine court) is at medieval street level, which means it is a meter below the rest of the old city centre. It has 47 regular townhouses each with an individual aspect and most with 17th and 18th century facades. about 18 of them still possess a gothic wooden framework. Most of the houses had just one single room but now most have been enlarged to 2 or 3 rooms.
