My favorite Noe Valley spot, from the other direction. It was surprisingly quiet in terms of foot traffic that morning.

With the 1209 left on the main along Cermak, the CIRY crew head up the Kramer spur, which requires crossing Cermak on a curve with no automated warning devices. One of the CIRY crew (everyone is qualified as an engineer AND conductor) protects the crossing with weather-beaten red flag. As the locomotive passes, he'll hop aboard on the fly and guide the engineer down the infrequently-used spur.

Needle-remover devices may be more appropriate for some health care settings than others. It is important to review the characteristics of each setting and each device to determine whether a needle-removal device is suitable and which device is most appropriate.
Shot in one of the old arches near the Newcastle University Student Union. Had some good times there about 10 years ago! Mad to think it was so long ago now...
Thought this looked better with a bit of a soft-focus effect, so I reduced the Clarity setting in Lightroom to -50.

The owner of this semi-portable knife sharpening machine didn't want
me to take a picture, at first. (I asked, he said no.) Then I chatted
him up a bit in the best Spanish I could (not knowing at the time the
words for knife or sharpen) and told him about how I sharpen my
knives by hand on a whetstone. He knew, from my gestures, exactly
what I was saying, and warmed right up, and asked me to take a pic of
this.
