Oooooh what will it be? This is Reloj, a soon-to-be multistrand necklace designed in honor of the colors of my kitchen. We're currently in the process of redesigning my whole home (it's been going on for quite some time), and my favorite part is my kitchen, done in all talavera tile. Stay tuned for the finished product, which as of today will consist of German copper wire, lapis lazuli, yellow jade, wooden tusk beads, carnelian, and amber chips. Mmmm I'm feelin' warm and toasty already.
The 2018 Think development - Think WIDER conference, held on 13-15 September in Helsinki, Finland, showcased UNU-WIDER, its work, and the many people and institutions that are engaged with it.
The conference held panel discussions on all of the main themes and findings of UNU-WIDER’s research during 2009-18 — finance, food and climate change; and transformation, inclusion and sustainability.
The event aimed to mobilize evidence and action around the 2030 SDG agenda and its goals.

The event shed light on the current challenges faced by micro-, small- and medium-sized firms in the country’s manufacturing sector — and how policy can tackle these issues to allow firms to thrive. Special attention was paid to the business environment in which these enterprises operate.

The South Sebastopol Development marches inexorably on to Pontnewydd. Wren’s Nest Farm is all but engulfed, and its track will be turned into an access road in to Lowlands Crescent in Pontnewydd.
The really quite awful California cuisine place on Moody Street in Waltham has met its inevitable end and apparently, an authentic Mexican restaurant is moving in.
That's good.
"Netzahualcóyotl" has been airbrushed over the old place's name (which was "SoCal," I think). This place is just across the street from the finest purveyor of weekly periodicals in eastern Massachusetts.
Very very good.
The Wikipedia entry for Netzahualcóyotl suggests that the man was quite a smart dude. The fact that the biggest feature in the sign is the name and glyph of a 15th century philosopher-king (and not, say, a drunken cartoon mule wearing a sombrero) fills me with optimism. I'll definitely give this restaurant a try.

A historic office building in Downtown San Jose is the home to entrepreneurs and startups affiliated with the Environmental Business Cluster (EBC), the US Market Access Center (USMAC), and the Entrepreneur Center (eCenter). Space is available for environmental and international start-ups looking for unique office space, and business and financial services and assistance. This program of space and services is offered under a 15-year long partnership between the San Jose Redevelopment Agency, the San Jose State University Research Foundation, and the Humboldt State University Sponsored Programs Foundation.
The Agency has invested more than $20 million in these programs to support the growth of new software, clean tech and emerging technology companies, as well as international businesses looking to expand in the U.S. Along with the incubator and business service programs at the San Jose Innovation Center, the Agency’s investment also includes the San Jose BioCenter, which is located in the Edenvale Technology Park, South San Jose. These programs have been very effective in helping small businesses grow by generating over 2,600 jobs and enabling companies affiliated with the programs to raise $1.6 billion in capital equity financing.
