The United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) and The Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) convened a two-day conference on Debt and innovative finance in developing countries in Helsinki, Finland, on 27-28 October 2022.
Over the last 50 years Birmingham has developed special relationships with a number of cities in Europe and beyond.
With the ending of World War II there emerged a European “Twinning” movement intended to bring large numbers of people together as a way of promoting harmony and peace between former warring countries. These relationships have brought together villages, towns and cities around culture, community, sport and other activities. Where active they have served a useful means of bringing together people of different backgrounds and countries in meaningful collaboration.
From the “Twinning” movement many large towns and cities, like Birmingham, sought to develop more purposeful relationships where practical benefits would result through learning and working together on common issues or difficulties. These predominantly large cities became formal “Partners” or “Sisters” as in the North American model.
Birmingham consequently formed a series of European and international Partnerships. Whilst different in emphasis they all sought to increase the social and economic well being of people and organisations within and between specific Partner cities. Those relationships now focus on meaningful education, business, culture, sport and community joint work.
The Feast of the Strawberry moon in Grand Haven, MI is an annual event where actors re-create life in western Michigan in the late 1700's. The campsites were recreated carefully, and the actors all worked hard to get in their roles.

Again i have looked at the work of Patrick Boyer and developed my own personalise version. In my version, I have created ‘the teenage dream’ which is collage of images that are close to my life or things I use everyday, I have called it the Teenage dreams as many other teens can aspire or relate to them.
The choice of colour was carefully thought out. To incorporate a dreamy effect, I made the background dark and filtered the images so they look almost un-real. I also made the stand out images brighter, to emphasise the message behind my work.
Hosted by Architectural Resources, this event was held at the Coca Cola Field in Downtown Buffalo. Professionals from related fields, GRoW team members, family and friends were present to watch the Bisons baseball game and support #UBGRoWHome. It was a wonderful evening!
