An image I use frequently as a desktop and also currently printed as the image on the lid of my 13" MacBook Pro (under a clear Speck case).
The Apple glows!
(circuit image is from a series of shots I took of a dismantled Apple Keyboard's beautiful mylar trace circuits which I cleaned and inverted in PS)
I know my iMac is jealous that I'm on the PC notebook.... but, you do what you got to do sometimes..... it still gets a lot of use of course.
My desktop is a nightmare..... vintage stuff happening there...
My Desktop as of March 17, 2009
Using Wallpaper Master to cycle wallpapers, Object Dock as the dock, and the Black Glass Rainmeter skin
So this is what I do instead of writing my college resume....
Download the original size for the full effect (:
Uses rocket dock, launchy, rainmeter, cd art display, and a new vista theme of which the name escapes me.

Prepping the tablet for my RSS workshop at CIL. (I'm out traveling around Washington (state) all next week so I've got to get ready now while I've got the time.)
Team Priyanka invited PC Rockstarz to share their desktop screenshots using the hashtag #PConmyDesktop.
Como ya es de costumbre...aqui mi desktop, ahora recibiendo una poca de luz natural.
Ahh y con el fondo de pantalla de 'Leopardo'
OH yes (/Ten), there's Photoshoppy blur, but a 768x514 was all that I could find (so far, and courtesy of the Doctor Who News Page). And again, saw/wanted desktop/finito.
Karen looks so cute (albeit just a *wee* bit demonic, somehow) here.
Something to get us through until the Proms broadcast and Xmas, anyway.

This is an exploded view of all the islands so that you can see the customisation potential.
With this series you can control your own Empire; right from your very own desk!
The series would have one base set with 1 island and a few accessories (trees, buildings, landforms, ships, catapults) and an ocean basepad. You could expand your Empire as you buy more islands and even build your own islands and accessories!
The fact that the islands are not all one piece enables you to rearrange them to suit your needs. You can combine with other islands or make new ones. It is all up to you!

Custom surreal desktop using GeekTool. Wallpaper made in Photshop for my mac. Used Geektool for the date time and year. The Month is in the bottle, and the year and day is on the plane to the left. Note: this is my husbands first attempt at using GeekTool, I think He did pretty good for his first try. Going to be a free download at www.philipbrunner.com soon.

Aside from the iLife apps I have Camino, Firefox, AdiumX, Parallels Desktop for Mac (to run Napster and Visual Studio), Coda, and Microsoft Office for Mac.
Rainmeter w/Enigma and several other skins running on my MSI Wind Netbook.
I hide the start menu and use "Launchy" most of the time.
With the start menu showing.
This is a calendar put together by me, my daughter, Josie (iltby www.flickr.com/photos/ilovetobeyoung/) and a friend (sj_dakini www.flickr.com/photos/sj_dakini/ ).
It is a fund raiser in support of those with ME and CFS, in order to bring a world specialist to Australia next year. Our site is meandcfsfriends.com/ where you can link onto the calendar for a better view!

My first try at a GeekTool v3.0.2 desktop
I found it by accident in the AppStore, downloaded it and gave it a try. Followed the "White Sand" desktop tutorial but ended up recreating the concept with one of my own pictures. This is my wife, standing on the edge of a cliff in Madeira, a Portuguese island in the Atlantic. We were way above the clouds, and you can see the sea down below. Amazing place, amazing moment, even better desktop! Now I'm looking for tutorials on how to get live weather information. It's just a shame that I can no longer use different desktop backgrounds for all the "spaces" I have in my Mission Control.
Any suggestions?
Rainbow Laptop Backgrounds Cool Desktop
Rainbow Laptop Backgrounds Cool Desktop, 1024 x 819, 180.63 KB,
It's not really a thanksgiving desktop, but I didn't have much to do this break, so I made this.
The desktop comes from National Geographic's 2009 Photography Contest, there are a lot of other great desktops there so check it out

I have geektool commands showing the date and time, honestly, that's all I ever use
the icons were based off of the reflections icons, I just used that photoshop thing that was in the pack and made my own, converted them into .icns and used candybar to replace my original icons with these. To make it so that there is no name, just make the name a space.
That's pretty much my desktop
