Hand drawn flower illustrations by the "Audubon of Botany", Mary Vaux Walcott (1860–1940). Mary was a female American artist and naturalist known for her almost a thousand watercolors of North American wildflowers. She started experimenting with painting flowers at the age of eight. During her family summer trips to the Rocky Mountains of Canada, she developed her interest in botany and painting. Mary Vaux Walcott and her brother also studied mineralogy. Her success in painting a rare blooming mountain arnica encouraged her to concentrate on botanical illustrations. Mary Vaux Walcott also became an active mountain climber and photographer because she spent many years exploring the difficult terrain in the Canadian Rockies. As a remarkable botanist artist and an unconventional woman, she was elected as the president of the Society of Woman Geographers in 1933. We have digitally enhanced hundreds of her wildflower watercolor paintings into high resolution printable quality. They are free to download and use under the creative commons license.

Bavarian car , looks good in the morning
- BMW's split kidney grille.
BMW badge & grille
I learned today that the BMW logo represents the blue sky and white clouds as seen through an aeroplane propeller!
The brand mark of the Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Factories) was designed in the colours of the province Bavaria, according to the first part of the company name.
de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Staatsflagge_Bayerns
BLUE and White;
White and Blue are the colors of the official Bavarian Flag.
-
The BMW logo consists of a thick black ring encircled by a silver lining.
The letters ‘BMW’ are inscribed in a non-serif font in the top half of the black ring.
The gap within the ring is divided into four equal alternative blue and white quarters.
The BMW logo, commonly known as "roundel", was created and registered in 1917
-
The grille is often a distinctive styling element, and many marques use it as their primary brand identifier.
Grilles on automobiles have taken on different designs through the years. This feature first appeared on automobiles in 1903. Several years later, the arch-shaped design became common and became the standard design on automobile grilles for many years. The "split" grille design first appeared in 1923 on the Alfa Romeo sports car.

1916: Gründung der Bayerischen Flugzeug-Werke (BFW).
Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH (gegr.
1919: Lastwagenmotor M4 A1, Vierzylinder-Reihe, 8.000 cm³, obenliegende Nockenwelle, 44 kW (60 PS)
1925: erstes BMW Motorrad R 37
...
Man muss kürzer treten.
FOTO-PEDIA, story about, Geschichte dazu:
