Making of, one of the ideas, the inside of one sqaure would fullfill the requirements for size of 75 x 75 mm for Macro Mondays size restriction. There for the title.
Other then this, fine dark chocolodad, pralinees from a well know german brand, and not eaten. So close to food fotography, but not some extra calories , not yet eaten.
Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.

A shot I recently added to the PhotographyTextures.com DVD, of a grungy brick wall wall, complete with bicycle tread marks.

Small clock in pyramidal marble case photographed on a mirror before a black velvet background. Prism effect by mirror altered the reflected hue...which I kinda like.

The odd geometry of wood steps and railing just outside my front door, cloaked in fresh snow and crossed by shadows. The key lines in this composition radiate outward from a central point, where there is... essentially, nothing. A single blade of dry grass. It's a kind of metaphor for the prairie itself. Visually, for me, the prairie is all about the spaces between things. I have touched on this in earlier comments.
During my years of running photo workshops here, I introduced many photographers from other places to the Saskatchewan prairie - people from Ontario, Nova Scotia, Yukon, BC, California, and other parts of North America that are totally unlike the grasslands. Some of them felt overwhelmed, even intimidated by the seemingly featureless vastness of land and sky: "Where do I start?"
The trick, perhaps, is to learn to see the graphic components through a viewfinder for what they are: shapes, lines, textures. These are the building blocks of all visual imagery. In this shot, for example, the subject matter could not be more mundane: snow, shadows, part of my house. But what I saw through the viewfinder wasn't my front porch, but rather, radiating lines. For helping me shift my vision this way - seeing graphics over content - I must thank the late Denes Devenyi (1932-2017), a brilliant photography teacher under whom I studied in the mid to late 1970s when I took two of his evening classes at the University of British Columbia. His advice: "Don't worry about content. Start with the basics and build your composition from those; the content will be there."
For the next few days I will upload some photos made within the tiny prairie village where I now live. Glimpses. Vignettes. Oddities. All shot in winter. The ones made at the edge of town may convey some sense of the big land and big sky all around us. When I go out there, away from the village - and especially when I go into Grasslands National Park - I don't change the way I shoot. It's more "natural", but I'm still looking at shapes, lines, and textures, even when my subject is a bison herd, and certainly when I'm photographing the wild prairie landscape or doing close ups of its smaller features. The process is always the same. Eternal thanks to Denes for his insights and ongoing inspiration.
