f11 @ 1/160

This is one of the series in the DoF exercise. The camera I'm using has half stops, so there were lots in the series.

Same shot taken with all available apertures to study differences between f-stops. (f/4.5)

The last picture I put up of this was really blurry so here is a redo!

Exposure0.2 sec (1/5)

Homemade spinach pasta -- a pleasure to photograph, and even better to eat! See Libby's blog A Sweet Peace for details from the cook.

Session 5: Photographing Detail Through Depth-of Field Management

Asclepias at F36. Gives a full photo - and probably a true feeling of what you really see when in this part of our garden - but the "swans" don't stand out.

T: I purposely chose to have the socks very much in focus and the rest more blurred. I wanted to show a shallow depth of field.

L: I wanted the light to be warm to show relaxation. The subject was so comfortable just watching a movie on his phone. Everything just felt right.

C/C: I made sure that the feet didn't touch the hexagon on the wall rather I tried to make it frame it a bit with their feet. I also wanted to capture the subject on the side rather than have the feet looking like its connected to nothing. I like that this image is really relatable, almost everyone has been in that situation before.
