DOF Project for photography I

Playing with depth of field

the lighting was too good...I had to take a picture.

Experimenting with depth of field

taken with my canon ae-1

Technical - f/56, shutter-speed 1/8, focus on a metal screw, late afternoon lighting, 5:21 pm.

Composition - This was shot at close range from the side to capture the texture of the wood and the patterns of the screws. I focused on the closest screw and gradually blurred out the rest.

Content - I was trying to capture the interesting patterns, lines and textures.

I ended up cropping this photo a lot just because of how much white there was in the background and adjusted it so that the flower was more straight. Like the other photos, I adjusted the exposure, contrast, and vibrancy and adjusted the detail to make the flower more clear.

This is one of the series in the DoF exercise. The camera I'm using has half stops, so there were lots in the series.
