through the reading-lists prescribed by you all. When it comes to dissenting the man who is held accountable for all.
this, and in the only forum we were going to get, you expected us to bury our heads in the sand like that fabled ostrich..
.
In these difficult times when sovereignty of nations is under tremendous attack by the forces like Bush & Blair, the first.
thing a repressive regime tries to quash is the Right to Protest. An extension of this is found in the appeal, which we.
witnessed. This not only created an undemocratic precedent but also vitiated the atmosphere of protests that followed. A.
section of the student community were silenced through this directive..
.
The Right to Protest as the lynchpin of any democratic structure is something that has come about through a hard earned.
battle and at a great cost. This campus has had a glorious heritage of protesting against tyrants in the positions of power..
This is the same JNU which stood arm in arm against a totalitarian Indira Gandhi and she was not allowed to enter this.
campus even four years after her attempts to eclipse Indian democracy. We feel a sense of pride being taught by the stu-.
dents of that generation. Why then were we being prevented through these kinds of anticipatory appeals from protesting.
against the PM in an occasion, which was presented to us as a rare opportunity for lodging a peaceful and yet strong.
dissent against his policies? This, we think is even more pertinent as these policies are still being pursued by this very PM..
.
But now, there is a gnawing confusion in us these days confronted with this double-speak. This is a very grave issue for.
us. We appeal to all the teachers to please come forward with a reply and guide us through these testing time..
.
This `appeal' notwithstanding, there were peaceful protests, but the whole act was vandalised by.
some lumpens. We feel this appeal, in effect, gave these lumpens of NSUI ABVP/JPF the legitimacy to.
disrupt and sabotage the whole agenda. Moreover, the fact that certain teachers denigrated and ridiculed.
the act of showing black flags to the PM in the public meeting which followed (15.11.05), and that a few.
even went onto justify the violence perpetuated on the peaceful protesters, forces us to ask these questions.
from you all. In this meeting, one teacher took forward the tone of chastising to new levels and cautioned.
the students with consequences since the teachers are the ones we have to fall back upon for grades, term.
papers etc. In these times, we feel perplexed and wonder if our names should go in this pamphlet, but then.
we will!.

Satan as the Crusher, Tamer and Destroyer of evilAddition to the grimoire "Gay Lust".
The album was compiled by His Majesty Satan's Fag Slut Sodomia ⚣ aka Antichrist SlutSodomia
2025 English version. Collection for 2021-2025.
One of the main themes of Satanism of any direction is the vengeance of Satan, the forces of Hell and the demons-Satanists in Hell on evil. Therefore, I dedicate the collection for immersion in the spiritualization of Satan SatanArt №6 (pictures №501-600) to Satan as the Crusher, Tamer and Destroyer of evil.
Many religions deliberately substitute the concept of revenge on evil with the concept of evil itself. These religions mislead people by presenting Satan and the forces of Hell in a negative light. Although, it is Satan and the forces of Hell that help destroy evil in our world and carry out retribution on evil in Hell. But numerous religions constantly denigrate Satan. The source of evil itself, i.e. "god", they set as an example to follow. Religions force you to worship evil, pray to evil, and mislead yourself forever and ever.

On Deprivation Points for Backward Minorities .
The University has agreed to form a committee to ascertain the legal/social position regarding the issue of provision of deprivation points to religious minorities. In the coming days, the JNUSU will have to carry forward the struggle to integrate the Ranganath Mishra Commission recommendations in the Admission Policy of the University. The Ranganath Mishra Commission, to recall, had observed that positive discrimination on the ground of caste or religion coupled with other grounds such as social and educational backwardness is constitutionally permissible and, therefore, under a given circumstance it may be possible to treat a caste or religious group as a class. The Commission had argued that Since the minorities especially the Muslims are very much underrepresented, and sometimes wholly unrepresented, in government employment, we recommend that they should be regarded as backward in this respect within the meaning of that term as used in Article 16 (4) of the Constitution. The student community will also have to remain vigilant against formulations such as if society is divided on the basis of religion, we will provide reservation on the basis of religion (put forward by the President of SFI-JNU), which would become fodder to majoritarian communal forces, which see the demand for deprivation points as minority appeasement (ABVP pamphlet dated 29.10.2012). .
.
The Balance of Political Forces since 2007 Remains Unchanged .
The developments since 2007 in the campus (which included, but were not confined to, the clampdown on student union elections) have meant a shift in the balance of political forces in favour of the administration, exemplified by the sheer volume of anti-student moves on its part during the last five years. The course and outcome of the agitation shows that this objective situation, whereby the hand of the administration has been strengthened at the cost of the students movement, has not been reversed. The JNUSU leadership, through speeches and pamphlets, has been trying to pacify the students by talking about in principle acceptance from the administration, seeing the outcome of the agitation as a step forward, substantial advance etc, instead of engaging in a concrete review of the agitation. .
.
Sectarianism within JNUSU .
The course of the agitation has also brought out in the open the sectarian nature of the differences of opinion between the organisations leading the JNUSU. Instead of sincere attempts to preserve the struggling unity of the JNUSU, what came out in the open was a fight between the leading organisations regarding competing demands and priorities, with the student community remaining largely in the dark. Such differences of opinion among the organisations that lead the union should be settled in the JNUSU council or at the UGBM rather than allowing them to affect the much-required unity in the course of the agitation. The office-bearers of the JNUSU should also be conscious of the message that is conveyed by quarrelling among themselves in public in the midst of an important agitation. Such acts that denigrate the highest platform of the JNU students would serve only to strengthen the hands of the administration. .
SFI congratulates the student community of JNU for their participation in the agitation fought under the leadership of the JNUSU, and pledges to stand by the JNUSU in carrying our struggle forward to its logical conclusion. .

IMPLEMENT 27% OBC RESERVATION & 54% SEAT INCREASE FROM 2007-08!! .
DOWN WITH YFE FOR OPPOSING THE LAW OF THE LAND!! .
ISOLATE CASTEIST YFEH .
.
Friends, Date: 13..01-07 .
The OBC Reservation Bill has been passed by the Parliament, which is the highest sovereign body of the people of the country. However, a section of elites of the.country under the garb of Youth For (ln)Equality are extremely disgusted by the smooth pas~age of the OBC Reservation Bill in the Parliament. In a most outrageous and shameless manner, they have used the platform of JNUSU to attack the JNUSU President and the entire policy of OBC reservation . The very fact that aBC-reservation bill has been smoothly and unanimously passed by both houses of Parliament reflects the democratic consensus in the country on the principle of social justice enshrined .
in the constitution of India. The rare . unanimity, acroaa political lines, on this issue has completely Isolated the formation called Youth For (ln)Equallty. This Isolation and political irrelevance of the Youth For (ln)Equality has completely frustrated them. In their frustration, the YFE has completely lost all pretensions of believing in democratic norms and institutions .
in the country. .
The Constitution of India is one of the most revered constitutions in the world because of its rich and steadfast commitment to the principles of Equality, Fraternity, Democracy, Secularism and Social Justice. All these ideals have been enshrined in the constitution and promoted by the .
Parliamentary democracy in our country, which has given voices to the voiceless, albeit to a limited extent. The recent passing of the OBC Reservation Bill in Parliament, is yet another exposition where the marginalized sections of the population have asserted their rights through the Parliament. .
To oppose OBC reservation after the passage of the Bill Is tantamount to oppose the law of the land. The fact that the YFE Is still campaigning against this policy, even after the enactment of the Bill proves their total disregard for democracy and the Parliament of our country. Through their opposition to the OBC reservation Act, they are questioning the collective will of ·the people of India. We warn them against any attempt to denigrate the Parliament and other democratic institutions in our country. It is shameful that the YFE is using the JNUSU latform for .
servin its casteist ends that too launch a vicious attack on the Parliament.illll .
While the YFE is hell bent upon scuttling the process of implementing 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat increase in the campus, it is extremely unfortunate, that the JNU Administration has not till date announced its policies in this regard. Neither has the Administration initiated any broader dialogue within the University community on this issue. This dilly-dally approach on the part of the Administration is only providing space and legitimacy for the YFE's campaign. We demand that the Administration must immediately announce its plans in this regard and take all necessary steps to ensure 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat increase from the next academic session. .
In these circumstances, it is highly commendable that the JNUSU President and Joint Secretary has initiated the process of discussion on this issue within the student community by callingfor an Open Meeting on this issue. We warn the YFE against any malicious campaign against the JNUSU office-bearers who are only trying to uphold the law of the land in our university. We appeal to the student community to rally behind the JNUSU In future struggles aimed at ensuring that 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat Increase is Implemented in our campus. We also appeal to the students to participate In large numbers In tomorrow's Open Meeting at 6:00pm, to deliberate on this Issue. .

would be held on 9.01 .2012. The newly elected JNUSU and all future unions should be mandated by the .
UGBM to carry forward the struggle for full restoration of the JNUSU Constitution and utilize every .
possible opportunity for the same. .
It is unfortunate that the DSU has once again started a malicious campaign ·against the conduct of JNUSU .
Elections. Rather than raving and ranting against the position of SFI and others in favour of conducting the .
JNUSU Elections now, DSU and its allies must clarify what concrete alternative exists before the student .
community today? Their vacuous rhetoric cannot conceal the real intent behind their opposition, which is to .
.
postpone the conduct of JNUSU elections forever and have aJNUSU-Iess student movement in JNU. That may .
suit DSU1S anarchist and adventurist politics but will be inimical to the interests of the broader student .
community. Narrow minded sectarianism of the OSU is preventing it from placing the larger interests of the .
.
students above its partisan political interests. This is hardly surprising from an outfit which supports and glorifies .
.
the Indian Maoists, who routinely resort to mindless assassinations and violence and denigrate democracy. .
DSU has also displayed remarkable hypocrisy during the past two years, having first opposed the dialogue with .
the Amicus-Curiae, then shamelessly participating in the negotiations and subsequently equating the Joint .
·Struggle Committee with the pro-Lyngdoh YFE at a time when the JSC was trying hard to pressurize the JNU .
administration for taking a position in favour or granting the exemptions suggested by the Amicus in his petition. .
These divisive and nonsensical positions adopted by the DSU have dovetailed with that of the YFE, which has .
_.·proactively campaigned for the imposition of the Lyngdoh recommendations in JNU. In effect, DSU and YFE are .
.
two sides of the same coin; both are saboteurs as far as the conduct of JNUSU elections is concerned. .
The JNU student community has played a crucial role in the struggle for the restoration of the JNUSU Elections .
.
and the JNUSU Constitution. The support of the student community was crucial in the negotiation process with .
.
the Amicus Curiae and instrumental in getting the Supreme Court judges to reappoint Gopal Subramanium as .
.
the Amicus Curiae and reopening of the dialogue process in the month of September 2011. The limited relief .
.
which has come from the Court is because of the united struggle waged by the student community. The SFI .
.
salutes the JNU student community for the perseverance it has shown in this long drawn and arduous struggle. .
.
This resolve for restoration of the JNUSU Elections as per the JNUSU Constitution must be preserved .
.
and strengthened in the days to come. The SFI reiterates its commitment to make all efforts and take .
.
this struggle to its logical culmination. Today, there is a need for forging a broad consensus in favour of .
.
conducting the JNUSU Elections immediately, which have not been held since 2008. SFI appeals to the .
.
student community to give a resounding mandate in favour of conducting JNUSU Elections in the .
UGBM on 9.01.2012, within the next one month. · .

RSS-VHPs Communal Hate Mongerers Try to Barge into JNU Indulge in Open Hate Mongering and Incitement at JNUs North Gate!! .
AISA condemns in the strongest possible manner the RSS-VHPs attempts to spread communal frenzy in JNU. Today, under the pretext of a protest in the context of the ongoing debate in JNU on eating beef and pork, several VHP-RSS activists assembled at the North Gate of JNU at around 11 am and held a session of provocative hate-speeches for several hours, disrupting the traffic. During the long hate-speech session, several speakers indulged in the most condemnable hate speech. Speaker after speaker made highly communal and inflammatory speeches loaded with the choices of abuses against religious minorities. Open threats of the worst violence against minorities were repeatedly made, and highly derogatory and abusive language was used. Not just this, extremely communal, dangerous and divisive literature was openly distributed during the meeting. This literature was full of insults against Christianity and other religions. For instance, a booklet published by the Dharm Rakshak Shri Dara Sena titled Yeshu Mein Shaitan Hai was distributed. As the name itself suggests, the booklet is aimed at propagating falsehoods and an anti-minority frenzy, by deliberately insulting and denigrating religious minorities. .
It is extremely shameful that all this happened in full public view, right in front of our universitys gate. Given the provocative nature of the protest, security forces of the North Gate had a hard time controlling the situation. This is not the first time communal right-wing forces have indulged in such tactics. Time and again we have seen them using any excuse to perpetrate violence against religious minorities. Campaigns against alleged illegal immigrants, against forced conversions, against inter-religion marriages are staple diet for such forces. Inside JNU, the ABVP specialises in such communal hate mongering. Throughout the recently conducted JNUSU election process, we saw the right-wing forces at work routinely engaging in hooliganism against women and minority students. Even on the evening of the Presidential Debate, a booklet ostensibly opposing beef eating, but actually targeting minorities was distributed in JNU hostels. It is now absolutely clear that communal forces affiliated to the Sangh Parivar including elements within the campus are together using the debate on Beef and Pork to vitiate the atmosphere in JNU. This is nothing but an organised hate campaign with a divisive political agenda. Communal fascist forces routinely use culture and religion as excuses to spread division, violence and hate in society. They use the excuse of Valentines day to indulge in violence and moral policing, they try to impose dress codes, they molest women in pubs. Such dangerous campaigns cannot be tolerated, and have to be robustly resisted. Moreover, such divisive and communal campaigns have to be dealt with an iron hand by the authorities. Given the well established linkages of elements in the campus with RSS-VHP and other Sangh Parivar forces, who are working to vitiate the atmosphere in JNU, we demand that the JNU administration take up this issue in all seriousness with the Delhi Police and other concerned authorities, so that such blatantly communal, divisive and unconstitutional acts are not allowed. .
The JNU administration should take responsibly of ensuring punishment to those who organised todays protest at the JNU North Gate. .

The AB\TP takes serious note of the deliberate fracas created by certain lumpen and pugnacious elements during the public tall< organized by the JNU History Fontm on the life and work ofV. D. Savarkar in the Periyar mess. .
Two ofthe residents ofPeriyar namely Arshad and Khalid, who had a peg too much,.
, .
deliberately tried to disrupt the aforesaid talk by their fundamentalist behavior. As soon as the meeting began, Arshad, who was heavily drunk, started making absurd and provocative comments. He was time and again warned to immediately stop his obscenities but he did not relent. Thereafter, he was joined by another Periyar resident .
. .
one Khalid Akhtar, and the two went on to make the most nonsense two-some. While the organizers were patiently trying to pacify them, they started threatening not only the .
, .
organizers but also the participants. Further, with utmost impunity and audacity, they began abusing the llindu community as a whole. The two, along with another anti-social ....,, element, Sumel Singh Sidhu, attacked the Hindu community in the choicest and cheapest terms, which were so extremely denigrating that they cannot even be mentioned here. The two miscreants viz Khalid and Arshad raised anti-Hindu and communal slogans deliberately hitting at the Hindu religious sentiments and religious tenets of sensitive -' ' significance in a bid to provoke communal flare-up in the campus exposing their .
. ~ ..
.'. fundamentalist and destructive nature. .
' .
The JNU campus should be ashamed of 1tselffor breeding such fundamentalists in the name ofsecularism. The miscreants could afford such an audacity ofopenly declaring war on a particular religion as they are aware of the fact that belonging to the minority community bestows upon them immunity from any stringent punishment, for their "secular", Marxist mentors cannot afford a cut into their Muslim vote banlc .
The leftist-fanatics on the campus have b~omethe godfathers of fundameqtalism. For the pseudo-secularist leftists of the campus fanaticism is another breed of "secularism". .
The ABVP raises serious concern over this most deplorable state of affairs and warns the campus ofthe coming days in which the campus may be turned into a Madarsa and a terrorist training camp .We demand immediate and stringent disciplinary action against the above-mentioned miscreants. .
The ABVP further warns such communal elements as Arshad, Khalid and Sumel Singh in the most direct terms. Any such misdemeanor on their part in the future would be thoroughly dealt with and they will have to face grave consequences. .
The ABVP once again warns the student community about the deteriorating environment of the campus due to the anti-national activities carried on by lumpens in collusion and with the tacit support ofthe leftists, and demands the immediate expulsion ofArshad, Sumel Singh Sidhu and Khalid Akhtar. .

Unite to Resist Price Hike and Ensure Quality and Hygiene at Dhabas and Canteens ! .
Demand 24x7 Dhaba Without Delay! .
Reject Attempts to Target JNUSU President ! .
.
Reverse Price Hike In spite of the JNUSU's opposition to the price hikes in the dhabas and canteens. the Administration has gone ahead with imposing the hikes in prices. Such a hike in rates will put an undue burden on students. and must be .
reversed. In the CDC meeting dated February 7, when the proposal of price hike for certatn items was moved. the JNUSU .
President opposed this move, and added that since the quality and hygiene of dhabas is in such pathetic shape, it was the hygiene and quality that needed upgrading, rather than prices. As a result the CDC set up a Sub-Committee. including karamchari leaders and the JNUSU President, for an urgent rev1ew of hyg1ene and quality standards. However, the Administration went ahead with the price hikes, and the moment thts came to ltght, the JNUSU President opposed it in a protest letter on the day of the next CDC Meeting on 17th March (see JNUSU .
notice dated March 17). In the CDC Meetmg. the JNUSU President as well as JNUSU's CDC Representative (who however refused to stgn a joint letter with the President). strongly demanded a review of the price h1kes. As a result of this, the matter is being taken up for discussion in the CDC Meeting of 18th March. The need of the hour is to oppose the price hike unitedly and reverse it. SF I, however, true to its habit. is too obsessed with trying to prove the "dubious role of the JNUSU President", rather than targetting the dubious role of the Administration. .
CDC In the Dornain of Public Debate .
Friends, before AISA's tenure in the JNUSU, the role of CDC as well as JNUSU representatives in it was never allowed to become a relevant agenda for the student community of the campus. Did any previous SFl-Ied JNUSUs in the past several years, ever inform the student community about CDC decisions? Did students ever get to know when CDC periodically approved a price hike or to whom CDC allotted dhabas or canteens or shops? .
When rents for shops were hiked by previous CDCs, attended by representatives of SF l-Ied JNUSUs were students .
ever informed about these increases in rents? It is because of the student community's sustained questioning .
, of the CDC decisions during the anti-Nestle movement (in which AISA and the AISA-led JNUSU played a .
leading role) that the proceedings of the CDC are now a matter of lively public debate. .
.
Slandering JNUSU President: SFI's Favourite Garne .
The same SFI, whose JNUSU leaders brought in the corporate Nestle secretively and silently, in connivance with the CDC, and defended that dangerous decision tooth and nail, is now busy mud-slinging at the JNUSU President. despite her categorical, repeated, written opposition to the price hikes! .
Attempts by SF! to malign the JNUSU President on this issue is a part of SFI's old habit of baseless mud-slinging and sectarian one-upmanship. We would like to point out that in this semester, the SFI has made it a habit to denigrate and tarnish the role of the JNUSU President. The SFI, in leaflet after leaflet this semester accused the AI SA-led JNUSU of "doing nothing" to pursue the issues of students' elected representation m academ1c bodres, book bank facilities, enhancement of MCM scholarship. etc... However, the Book Bank facilities d1d become operational, and the Academic Council actually took a decision in favour of students' elected representaion in academic bodies as well as extension ofMCM to MPhii/Mtech students, and approved new academic programmes in North East Studies and Studies in Discrimination and Exclusion. Ifthese demands had not been met by the AC, .
SFI would have blamed it on the AISA-led JNUSU. Nowthat the demands have been achieved, the SFI promptly claimed these to be achievements of their previous Union alone III We would like to ask the SF!· HOW COME ALL THE ACHIEVEMENTS ARE ALWAYS YOURS, AND ALL ABUSES ARE ALWAYS FOR AISA ?! .
In spite ofsystematically pursuing the students' demands, the JNUSU President, who is the only office bearer from AISA in the JNUSU, is the constant target for vilification and non-cooperation by SFI. Last year. when she was in the capacity of GS In the JNUSU, the SFI did its utmost to isolate her role, and cla1m that AI SA had no share in all the agitations or achievements-to the extent that she was prevented even from signmg a leaflet on a common agenda like Women's Day! We advise the SFI to shed its childish sectarianism and stop disrupting common issues of struggle. .
Students' Demands Must Be Honoured .
The CDC must reverse the price hikes at dhabas and canteens, and ensure the standards of quality and hygiene as well. Further, the CDC must honour the UGBM mandate and set up a 24x7 dhaba without further delay as a replacement for the Nestle Outlet. Given that exams are approaching, the absence of a 24x7 dhaba is proving to be a serious inconvenience, especially for the students residing in nearby hostels in that area. .
A/SA appeals to students to Join the Protest Demo at the CDC on Monday, 18 April, 11am. .

Karan Thapar: Is your party united with you? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Of course. .
Karan Thapar: All of them? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: All of them. There are some differences of opinion, but I think it is not a major problem for .
.
me. You see it is not our policy or my policy. Industrial policy is a government policy. It was formulated by the government. All parties are committed to it. If somebody says one fine morning that no I don't accept this, I cannot help that. .
Karan Thapar: In which case, let me put it like this. If you win the forthcoming elections, will the same Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, who is speaking to me about the importance of reforms, about the importance of change, then actually implement it finally? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Of course. .
Karan Thapar: One hundred per cent? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Of course. If we get the verdict of the people, that will help me go ahead. .
Karan Thapar: It will help you? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Yes. .
Karan Thapar: And the bigger the majority you get, the more determined you will be to reform and change? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Of course. It is just like that. .
Karan Thapar: So, you are actually appealing to the people of Bengal. You are saying, "Give me the biggest majority .
.
possible so that I can give you the biggest change and fastest growth"? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: Yes, exactly. .
Karan Thapar: Mr Bhattacharya, let's talk about the election that start next month. Are you embarrassed by the fact .
.
that because of widespread fears that Left parties indulge in what is called scientific rigging, Bengal is going to see a .
.
five-day polling process over an unprecedented 22 days. .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: My first reaction is that you should not use this term 'scientific rigging'. You shouldn't .
denigrate science. .
.
Karan Thapar: Okay. My point is does the Left Front indulge in rigging --scientific or otherwise? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: You see, it is not possible to win elections through wrong practices --rigging or whatever .
it is. People and some sections of media, they don't understand why it is happening? Why this government have won .
six consecutive elections and running this government for 28 years, Why? Is there not any anti-incumbancy factor? Is .
there not any grievances of the people? The main point, I would like to draw your attention to is that the situation of .
.
West Bengal is unique in one area. There is one area that is most important. We have successfully implemented land .
reforms in our state. And this has changed the political corelations of the state. .
Karan Thapar: As a result, people vote for you? .
Buddhadeb Bhattacharya: People will vote for us. Seventy-two per cent of the land belong to the poor. Panchayat .
.
belongs to the poor. They will not change their mind. .
Karan Thapar: All right. That is your explanation for why the Left Front has won six consecutive elections in the state. .
On the other hand, 600 companies of paramilitary police and paramilitary troops will be enforcing just the first phase of .
elections as compared to 300 for the whole of Bengal in 2002. That's the extent to which the EC has lost confidence in .
Bengal. .

harassment was leveled, the Han. Supreme Court, not only permitted him to .

Passing the restraint order, Han. Supreme Court said, .
"Suffice it to say, no conclusive finding as to fairness or unfairness can be arrived at this juncture. Upon the fair reading of material available on record, it prima facie appears that the same can prejudicially affect the public mind and there is real and tangible risk of the plaintiff in not getting fair.trial or open justice as contemplated by the common law as per the dictum laid down by the Supreme Court of India." .
We strongly condemn such referendum, which only represents a microscopic .
view that belongs to left lobby. JNU has around 8051 students registered on .

the electoral list, whereas the number of participant in such so-called referendums does not exceed a negligible ·size. Thus, such referendum does not represent the whole of JNU community. .
Further, unlike the JNUSU elections, which 1s conducted by an independent Election Commission, such sc-called ref2rendums are a tool in the hands of Leftists. Neither their methodology nor results can be relied upon! .
While we strongly support fairness and justice in the case of sexual harassment, we condemn the denigration and vilification of the accused, which goes ag9inst the principle of natural justice that deems everyone innocent until R-roven guilty, while the JNUSU and other Left bodies of JNU deem otherwise. .
We urge the student's community not to fall in the trap of propagandists, who .
are using the institution of GSCASH for scoring votes in the upcoming .
election. We also urge the GSCASH to ensure a free and fair trial and submit .

communism in India saw it as the extreme Lefts efforts to project Bhagat Singh and his comrades as the only truly revolutionary force in the national liberation struggle, pitting them against the Communist Party. (Bhagat Singh, Liberations Blazing Star by PMS Grewal, LeftWord Books, 2007) .
Does highlighting BS and his comrades really mean denigrating the communist party? Right from Charu Mazumdar and Vinod Mishra and after, we have always proudly declared ourselves to be part and parcel of the communist movement in India, as the inheritors and protectors of its fine revolutionary traditions. Even a cursory look at our relevant publications -- from Communist Movement in India Volume I (1991) to numerous Liberation articles including those on the role of Indian communists in our freedom movement (July and September 1997, October 2005) --will show that we have always made a positive if self-critical appraisal of our history. Of course, as in other realms of theory and practice, here too we have refused to stand still. We have tried to enrich our understanding of history with new research and new findings, in this case new publications like Bhagat Singh ke Sampoorn Dastavez (Hindi) edited by Chaman Lal (2004). .
Memoirs of Ajoy Ghosh .
I believe it was sometime in 1923 that I met Bhagat Singh for the first time. Tall and thin, rather shabbily dressed, very quiet, he seemed a typical village lad lacking smartness and self-confidence. A few days later I saw him again. We had a long talk. Those were days when we used to dream boyish dreams of revolution. It seemed round the corner a question of a few years at most. Bhagat Singh did not seem so confident about it. I have forgotten his words but I remember his speaking about the torpor and apathy that prevailed in the land, the difficulty in rousing the people, the heavy odds against us. My first impressions about him seemed confirmed
.
Before he left Cawnpore we were close friends though I never ceased to make fun of what appeared to me his pessimistic outlook
.
In 1925 like a bolt from the blue came the Kakori arrests. Most of our leaders were in prison within a few weeks
One day in 1928, I was surprised when a young man walked into my room and greeted me. It was Bhagat Singh but not the Bhagat Singh that I had met two years before. Tall and magnificently proportioned, with a keen, intelligent face and gleaming eyes, he looked a different man altogether. And as he talked I realised that he had grown not merely in years. He was now, together with Chandra Shekhar Azad, the leader of our party. He explained to me the changes that had been made in our program and organisational structure. .
We were henceforth the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association with a socialist state in India as our avowed objective. We talked the whole night and as we went out for a stroll when the first streaks of red were appearing in the grey sky, it seemed to me that a new era was dawning for our party. We knew what we wanted and we knew how to reach our goal. .

CARRY FORWARD THE STRUGGLE FOR A PROGRESSIVE ALTERNATIVEI .
REELECT SFI~AISF TO THE JNUSUI .
Friends, The JNUSU elections are an opportunity for the student community to take stock of the experience of the student movement a debate on the agenda for the times ahead. However, 1t is unfortunate that the oppositional.
of our campus and to participate 1n .
organizations in this campus have time and again tried to shy away from any such debates, an evasion that reflects their complete non-.

participation in the historic student struggles of the recent past. .
.
JNU students have successfully resisted the attempt to saffronise and commercialise JNU through the Administration's X Plan .
proposals. The ABVP is evidently silent after the failure of this attempt at infiltration of the Sangh Parivar's agenda into JNU. But what about the NSUI and the AISA? They had claimed that the SFI-AISF led JNUSU had betrayed the X Plan struggle. Where then is the .
'Centre for Human Consciousness' or the self-financing courses which were proposed in the X Plan? The last union ensured the implementation of the agreement with the JNU Administration arrived after the agitation of September 2002 and has ensured that the dubious proposals are rejected lock, stock and barrel. Will the I'ISUI and the AISA now apologise to the student community for student community this year, these.
denigrating thrs successful and historic struggle Lacking any issues to place before the organizations have chosen to revive issues which have already been clinched in the past. They continue to spread canards about the .

of the JNU student.
The SFI-AISF believes that such ideologically bankrupt organizations do not merit the attention community, and calls upon all progressive and democratic-minded students to rally behind the Left and give the ABVP the decisive rout that the Sangh Giroh's politics of hatred deserves. .

NSUI DEMANDS IMMEDIATE JUDICIAL ENQUIRY INTO MISUSE AND POLITICISATION OF GSCASH, JNU .
,. .
.
.
Every JNUite is deeply concerned over the hooliganism, malicious poster campaigns, protests, drum beating and sham referendum being organized by DSF, DSU, AISA, SFI and JNUSU on the pretext of maintaining the GSCASH process to promote gender justice in the campus .The following facts reveal the sinist er design of DSF, AI SA, DSU, SFI and the current leadership of JNUSU to politicize the issue and in the process denigrate the august academic institution of JNU inflicting irreparable damage to the serene and .
productive academic atmosphere in JNU. .
1. GSCASH was set up as an autonomous mechanism with due representation from .
-faculty, students and staff, to protect and ensure gender justice in the University. But for the past two years or so, GSCASH has been dominated by some faculty and student representatives who are past masters in whipping up passions to get elected. And once elected, they pursue their personal and nefarious agenda of .
targeting certain individuals who do not fall in their scheme of things. .
2. Some JNU faculty members have been a victim of the conspiracy of such elements who have misused the GSCASH forum by subverting and abusing the very process and system, which they are supposed to protect from any malafide interests and .
intrusions..
3. The Rules and Procedures of GSCASH have been flouted in every manner. Rule Vl.4 (B)b of GSCASH rules states:"The Enquiry Committee shall, strive to complete the enquiry in the shortest possible time, not exceeding three months from the date the complaint is referred to it". And in these cases, the enquiry has taken more .
than a year. .
4. And when the GSCASH enquiry is about to complete its work, it is suddenly disbanded by the current Chairperson GSCASH in violation of GSCASH rules. Rule V1.4 (A)f of GSCASH rules clearly states that ,"The membership of an enquiry Committee shall not be changed or in any other way modified during its .
proceedings"..
5. This is a clear cut case of flouting of GSCASH rules and procedures by the GSCASH Chairperson with the malafide intention of tampering and concorting the .
proceedings of the case. .
6. The oath of confidentiality, which is crucial part of the GSCASH proceedings, has been violated more than often. How is it that the GSCASH proceedings are leaked selectively through media, poster campaigns and the sham referendum, which is .
being done to influence the GSCASH enquiry process. .
7. Deepti Tamang, who has been the student representative at the GSCASH and is also part of the Enquiry Committee, openly organized the sham referendum on 27-28 February 2014, not only violating the oath of confidentiality but also indulging in criminal activities. Besides, several non-JNUites have been seen participating in .
the sham referendum and protests/drum beating.(Piease see the photographs .

Every JNUite is shocked over the manner DSF, DSU, AISA, SFI and JNUSU have indulged in"' hooliganism, malicious poster campaigns, protests, drum beating and sham referendum on the pretext of maintaining the GSCASH process to promote gender justice in the campus. That outsiders were inducted to conduct the fake referendum, in which only a small minority of students out of a total strength of 8,000 students are claimed to have voted on a pre-determined NO option, is a matter of deep concern and warrants punitive administrative action. It is common knowledge that the students participating in the sham referendum were misinformed, bullied and manipulated to fall in line. At the same time over 400 JNU students cutting across the party lines and Schools/Centres of JNU signed a petition voicing "strong protest over the blatant misuse of JNUSU by a handful of students believed to be working at the behest of some malicious extraneous elements determined to vitiate the academic atmosphere in JNU." They also expressed shock "over the manner the GSCASH proceedings are being selectively leaked violating the oath of confidentiality". .
The following facts reveal the sinister design of DSF, AISA, DSU, SFI and the current leadership of JNUSU to politicize the issue and in the process denigrate the august academic institution of JNU inflicting irreparable damage to the serene and productive academic atmosphere in JNU. .

would be held on 9.01.2012. The newly elected JNUSU and all future unions should be mandated by the .
UGBM to carry forward the struggle for full restoration of the JNUSU Constitution and utilize every .
.
possible opportunity for the same. It is un;fortunate that the DSU has once again started a malicious campaign ·against the conduct of JNUSU Electio~s. Rather than raving and ranting against the position of SFI and others in favour of conducting the JNUSU Elections now, OSU and its allies must clarify what concrete alternative exists before the student community today? Their vacuous rhetoric cannot conceal the real intent behind their opposition, which is to postpone the conduct of JNUSU elections forever and have a JNUSU-Iess student movement in JNU. That may suit DSU's anarchist and adventurist politics but will be inimical to the interests of the broader student community. Narrow minded sectarianism of the DSU is preventing it from placing the larger interests of the students above its partisan political interests. This is hardly surprising from an outfit which supports and glorifies the Indian Maoists, who routinely resort to mindless assassinations and violence and denigrate democracy. DSU has also displayed remarkable hypocr1sy during the past two years, having first opposed the dialogue with the Amicus-Curiae, then shamelessly participating in the negotiations and subsequently equating the Joint Struggle Committee with the pro-Lyngdoh YFE at a time when the JSC was trying hard to pressurize the JNU administration for taking a position in favour or granting the exemptions suggested by the Amicus in his petition. These divisive and nonsensical positions adopted by the DSU have dovetailed with that of the YFE, which has proactively campaigned for the imposition of the Lyngdoh recommendations in JNU. In effect, DSU and YFE are two sides of the same coin; both are saboteurs as far as the conduct of JNUSU elections is concerned. The JNU student community has played a crucial role in the struggle for the restoration of the JNUSU Elections and the JNUSU Constitution. The support of the student community was cruc1al in the negotiation process with the Amicus Curiae and instrumental in getting the Supreme Court judges to reappoint Gopal Subramanium as the Amicus Curiae and reopening of the dialogue process in the month of September 2011 . The limited relief which has come from the Court is because of the united struggle waged by the student community. The SFl salutes the JNU student community for the perseverance it has shown in this long drawn and arduous struggle. This resolve for restoration of the JNUSU Elections as per the JNUSU Constitution must be preserved and strengthened in the days to come. The SFI reiterates its commitment to make all efforts and take this struggle to its logical culmination. Today, there is a need for forging a broad consensu$ in favour of conducting the JNUSU Elections immediately, which have not been held since 2008. SF1 appeals to the student community to give a resounding mandate in favour of conducting JNUSU Elections in the .
UGBM on 9.01.2012, within the next one month. .

08/10/2001 Friends, .
The united strength of the student movement has once again succeeded, albeit pa.rcially, in pushing back the agenda of the Central Govt., the UGC and the JNU Administration for privacisacion and commercialization ofJNU. The outcome of the agitation, which was called off yesterday, should bt· used by the JNUSU as a building bJock for a greater resistance against the opening of self-financed commercial courses and privatisation of hostel messes in JNU in the corning days. SFI congratt:tlates the student community in general, and the students of SC&SS as well as others who participated in the indefinite and relay hunger strike in particular, for rallying behind the JNUSU in this struggle. .
However, we would like to pose certain C)Uestions before the JNUSTJ President and the ABVP to which he belongs, rcgarcling some issues concerning the agitation. Firstly, why ctid the JNUSl' President show an enormous lethargy in initiating the struggle? lbe reC)uisition for the UGBM wa~ submitted by mid-September. The JNUSU President not only disregarded the constitution by not convening the UGBM on time but also tried to sabotage it by notifying a UGBM for 28th September~ less than 24 hours before it. It was onJy after the SFI and AISF representatives in the JNUSU organized a protest demonstration on 28th September and started a relay hunger strike that the JNUSU President and the President of ABVP, JNU Unit joined the struggle. While acknowledging their role: thereafter in remaining united throughout the agitation, we strongly condemn the lack of leadersrup and initiative on the part of the ABVP despite having the JNUSU Presidentship. .
e .
Secondly, the blatant lie, which the JNUSU President and the ABVP have resorted to, in claiming that .
an UGB~! was held on 28th September, is a black spot in the history of the JNUSU. Never in the past .
has any organisation shown such disrespect towards the highest decision making body of the students .
and reduced it to a mockery. The fact that the JNUSU President claimed to have had the UGBI'vf and .
passed resolutions in it, despite the fact that only 10-15 ABvT cadres were present during the entire .
show, exposes truly fascist inclinations of both. Here lies the significance of the so called "resolution" .
passed by the JNUSU President and the ABVP in the imaginary ''UGBM" supporting the move by the .
UGC and tl'te JNU Administration to open academic programmes on 'Human consciousness' and .
("Yogic Sciences'. No matter whatever the ABVP says or does, it cannot escape ftom the fact that it is a .
~tooge ofthe RSS run Central Govt. and the UGC. Even the syllabus for 'Huma.n Consciousness' was .
published in an ABVP pamphlet on 27'h September! We want to assert that the progresslVC, .
democratic and secular minded students ofJNU would never allow the ABvP to serve as a conduit tn .
the grand RSS project of saffronizing JNU. It the ABVP is opposed to the backdoor entry of .
corrunercial courses under SIT, how can it support the similar backdoor entty ofirrelevant, unscientifil .
~nd obscurantist courses like 'Human Consciousness' and 'Yogic Sciences', which would damage the .
academic credibility and character ofJNU? Why can't the JNUSU President demand that the crores of .
.
rupees being spent by the UGC in promoting these nonsensical courses be reallocated for employing .
mess workers in Mahi-Mandavi or fill up vacant teaching posts in the other Centres of our University~ .
T he JNUSU President and the ABVP have to answer these questions before the student commuru~ They cannot run away from the debate like they did by first sabotaging the UGBM and then £11selv claiming to have held it on 28'h September. While urging upon the student community to unite agaillst the sinister designs of the RSS-ABVP, we would also appeal to the progressive, secular and democratic minded students to isolate the NSUI, which has exposed itself as a non-serious and anti-student outfit Not onJy has the NSUI kept itself out of the united struggle against the conunercial courses and SIT. }t has tried to denigrate it to provide an excuse for its non-participation. SFI stands finnly against the politics of organizations like ABVP and NSUI and would continue to fight for the rights of the students and against commuoalisation and commercialization ofeducation. .

ALL INDIA STUDENts FEDERATION (AISF) 19/10/96 JNU UNIT .
THE BATTLE HAS BEGUN .
Friends, .
The spectre of Rightist politics is looming large over JNU. The ABVP has secured majority in the union, the reason being the dormant existence of its appendages whose number has swelled. The Leftist politics needs an introspection and they must ponder as to why they they could not forge an alliance in 1993 when and why they could not learn when AISF withdrew.
invited by AISF from elections in 1994. We have always felt the need for a united left offensive if the campus is to be saved from the f rapists of Surat & Tyagi's supporters and that 's why we wanted the tie-up of Leftist organisations in 1993 & 1994. We fought .
thl~ time because the ' unl eft' Sectarian politics.
independently .
of other Leftists always vanted to subjugate other Left parties, either by floating 3+1 combinations or by floating rumours that Anil nathew has withdrawn in favour of a particular candidate. Ue have always been opposed to such politics and now we feel that .
the Leftist formations must forge an ideological oriented united front to combat every effort of communals to delegitlmise JNUSU, denigrate JNU culture and destroy its unique traditions. .
Even today the majority of JNUltes have faith in left & secular it has become our duty to keep alive that faith..
politics, and The alliance need not be of electoral nature but based on the common understanding of issues of privatisation, communalism etc . This need has also been necessitated by the fact that the number of panel votes to any left organi sation is less than that of .
ABVP . These indicators of growing danger of Rightists must cause a worry among Leftists and working alliance for the corning years should be immediately forged. Let's JNU be the battle field .

.
For (ln)Equality are extremely disgusted by the smooth pas~age of the OBC Reservation Bill in the.
Parliament. In a most outrageous and shameless manner, they have used the platform of JNUSU to .
.
attack the JNUSU President and the entire policy of OBC reservation. The very fact that aBC-.
.
reservation bill has been smoothly and unanimously passed by both houses of Parliament.
reflects the democratic consensus in the country on the principle of social justice enshrined.
In the constitution of India. The rare unanimity, across political lines, on this issue has.
.
completely Isolated the formation called Youth For (ln)Equality. This isolation and political.
Irrelevance of the Youth For (ln)Equality has completely frustrated them. In their frustration,.
In the country. .
the YFE has completely lost all pretensions of believing in democratic norms and Institutions.
.
The Constitution of India is one of the most revered constitutions in the world because of its rich and steadfast commitment to the principles of Equality, Fraternity, Democracy, Secularism and.
Parliamentary democracy in our country, which has given voices to the voiceless, albeit to a limited Social Justice. All these ideals have been enshrined ii'J the constitution and promoted by the.
extent. The recent passing of the OBC Reservation Bill in Parliament, is yet another exposition where .
the marginalized sections of the population have asserted their rights through the Parliament..
To oppose OBC reservation after the passage of the Bill is tantamount to oppose the .
law of the land. The fact that the YFE is still campaigning against this policy, even after the .
enactment of the Bill proves their total disregard for democracy and the Parliament of our .
country. Through their opposition to the OBC reservation Act, they are questioning the collective willdemocratic institutions in our country. It is shameful that the YFE is using the JNUSU .
of the people of India. We warn them against any attempt to denigrate the Parliament and other.
its casteist ends that too launchi latform fora vicious attack on the Parliament..
While the YFE is hell bent upon scuttling .
process of implementing 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat increase in the campus, it is extremely unfortunate, that the JNU Administration has not .
till date announced its policies in this regard. Neither has the Administration initiated any broader.
Administration is only providing space and legitimacy for the YFE's campaign. We demand that the dialogue within the University community on this issue. This dilly-dally approach on the part of the.
Administration must immediately announce Its plans in this regard and take all necessary steps to .
ensure 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat increase from the next academic session..
In these circumstances, it is highly commendable that the JNUSU President and Joint.
.
Secretary has initiated the process of discussion on this issue within the student community by calling.
JNUSU office-bearers who are only trying to uphold the law of the land in our university. We appeal for an Open Meeting on this issue. We warn the YFE against any malicious campaign against the.
to the student community to rally behind the JNUSU in future struggles aimed at ensuring that 27% OBC reservation and 54% seat Increase is Implemented In our campus. We also appeal to the students to participate In large numbers in tomorrow's Open Meeting at 6:00pm, to .

STUDENTS' FEDERATION OF INDI~S/10/2001 .
The united strength of the student movement has once again succeeded, albeit partially, in pushinF: back the agenda of the Central Govt., the UGC and the JNU Administration for privatisation and commercialization of JNU. The outcome of the agitation, which was called off yesterday, should bt:· used by the JNUSU as a building block for a greater resistance against. the opening of self-financed commercial courses and privatisation of hostel messes in JNU in the coming days. SFI congratulateR the student community in general, and the students of SC&SS as well as others who participated in th~ indefinite and relay hunger strik~ in particular, for rallying behind the JNUSU in this struggle. .
However, we would like to pose certain questions before the JNUSU President and the ABVP to which he belongs, regarding some issues concerning the agitation. Firstly, why did the JNUSl' President show an enormous lethargy in initiating the struggle? The requisition for the UGBM wa!< submitted by mid-September. The JNUSU President not only disregarded the constitution by not convening the UGBM on ~ebut also tried to sabotage it by notifying a UGBM for 28th September, less than 24 hours before 1t. It was only after the SFI and AISF representatives in the JNUSU orga~ized a protest det~onsttation on 28th September and started a relay hunger strike that the JNUS U President ~nd the ~~es1den_t of ABVP, JNU Unit joit_led the struggle. While acknowledging their rolt ther~a~t~r .m rema1Illllg uruted throughout .the a~tatlon, we strongly _condemn the lack of leadership and lnltlatlve on the part of the ABVP desplte havmg the JNUSU Prestdcntship. .
Secondly, the blatant lie, which the JNUSU President and the ABVP have resorted to, in claiming that an UGBM wa~ h~ld on 28th Sept~ber, is a black spot in the history of the JNUSU. Never in the past has any orgarusatlon shown such disrespect towards the highest decision making body of the students. and reduced it to a mockery. The fact that the JNUSU President claimed to have had the UGBM and passed resolutions in it, despite the fact that only 10-15 ABVP cadres were present during the entire show, exposes truly fascist inclinations of both. Here lies the significance of the so called "resolution'' passed by the JNUSU President and the ABVP in the imaginary "UGBM" supporting the move by the UGC and the JNU Administration to open academic programmes on 'Human consciousness' and Yogic Sciences'. No matter whatever the ABVP says or does, it cannot escape from the fact that it is a stooge of the RSS run Central Govt. and the UGC. Even the syllabus for 'Human Consciousness' was published in an ABVP pamphlet on 27'h September! We want to assert that the progressive, democratic and secular minded students ofJNU would never allow the ABVP to serve as a conduit m the grand RSS project of saffronizing JNU. It the ABVP is opposed to the backdoor entry of commercial courses under SIT, how can it support the similar backdoor entry of in:elevant, unscientific and obscurantist courses like 'Human Consciousness' and 'Yogic Sciences', which would damage the academic crcc.libility and character ofJNU? Why can't the JNUSU President demand that the crores uf rupees being spent by the UGC in promoting these ~onsensic:U courses be reallocated for e~pl~yiog mess workers in Mahi-Mandavi or fill up vacant teaching posts m the other Centres of our Uruvers1ty~ .
The JNUSU President and the ABVP have to answer these questions before the student community They cannot run away from the debate like they did by first sabotaging the UGBM and then falsely claiming to have held it on 28th September. While urging upon the student ~omrnunity to unite again~t the sinister designs of the RSS-ABVP, we would also app~al to the progres~tve, secular ~nd democratic minded students to isolate the NSUI, which has exposed ttself as a non-sertous and anti-student outfit .
Not only has the NSUI kept itself out of the united_struggle ag~st ~e commercial courses an~ SIT. Jt has tried to denigrate it to provide an excuse for Jts non-partlctp~tton. SFI stands futnl~ agamst the politics of organizations like ABVP and NSUI aD:d.wo?ld continue_to fight for the nghts of the students and against communalisation and commeroalizatlon of educaoon. .

It is also to be noted that lawyer of the culprit students did not deny the acts of violence. So the Honble Court has only stayed the out-of-bounds order for the interim period and instructed the Enquiry to be completed at the earliest. .
ABVP Trying to Denigrate Hostel Enquiry Committee .
Senior Warden Dr. V. G. Hegde, who was present from the beginning of the violence and has therefore taken a principled stand to initiate action against the culprits, is being viciously targeted by ABVP from that night itself. It is also trying to denigrate the enquiry at the hostel level as several of the wardens have first hand evidences from spot about the violence. JNUSU condemns such threats by ABVP against the Hostel Enquiry Committee. .
JNU Administration and Proctorial Boards Indulgence and Inaction towards These Serial Offenders .
This very same group of students has been involved in several acts of communal targeting and violence: in Oct 2007, they grievously assaulted a senior Ph.D. scholar from minority community in Lohit Hostel. On Oct 31 2007, they indulged in massive violence during JNUSU elections Presidential Debate, and yet again on March 16 2008, they beat up a student as well as some JNU security staff. .
In the last two cases of open and public violence, the JNU administration took no punitive action against the culprits. This indulgence by the administration has systematically emboldened these habitual and communally motivated violence mongers to vitiate the campus atmosphere time and again. Latest violence in Lohit Hostel by these serial offenders is a direct outcome of this administrative indulgence. .
It is indeed a matter of serious concern why the present JNU administration and the Proctors Office always extend such indulgence towards the ABVP lumpens for their acts of crime. .
JNUSU has held a massive Protest March last night demanding exemplary punishment against the serial offenders and against any further administrative indulgence towards them. .
JNUSU will mobilise opinion in every section of the University community against the ploy of the ABVP to systematically vitiate campus atmosphere through repeated violence and hate mongering and the indulgence by the administration towards such acts through their habitual refusal to punish the offenders. .
JNUSU has demanded that the enquiry process, both at the Hostel and Proctorial level must be expedited and completed and exemplary action must be taken immediately. Any inaction and dilly dallying on the part of the administration will be strongly resisted by the JNU community. .

RSS-VHPs Communal Hate Mongerers.
Try to Barge into JNU -Indulge in Open Hate Mongering and.
Incitement at JNUs North Gate!! .
.
AISA condemns in the strongest possible manner the RSS-VHPs attempts to spread communal frenzy in JNU. Today (17 Sep), under the pretext of a protestin the context of the ongoing debate in JNU on eating beef and pork, several VHP-RSS activists assembled at the North Gate of JNU at around 11 am and held a session of provocative hate-speeches for several hours, disrupting the traffic. For instance, a booklet published by the Dharm Rakshak Shri Dara Senatitled Yeshu Mein Shaitan Haiwas distributed. As the name itself suggests, the booklet is aimed at propagating falsehoods and an anti-minority frenzy, by deliberately insulting and denigrating religious minorities. .
It is extremely shamefulthat all this happened in full public view, right in front of our universitys gate. Given the provocative nature of the protest, security forces of the North Gate had a hard time controlling the situation. This is not the first time communal right-wing forces have indulged in such tactics.Time and again we have seen them using any excuse to perpetrate violence against religious minorities. Campaigns against alleged illegal immigrants, against forced conversions, against inter-religion marriages are staple diet for such forces. Inside JNU, the ABVP specialises in such communal hate mongering.Throughout the recently conducted JNUSU election process, we saw the right-wing forces at work routinely engaging in hooliganism against women and minority students. Communal fascist forces routinely use cultureand religion as excuses to spread division, violence and hatein society.TheyusetheexcuseofValentinesdaytoindulgeinviolence andmoralpolicing, they try to impose dress codes, they molest women in pubs. Such dangerous campaigns cannot be tolerated, and have to be robustly resisted. Moreover, such divisive and communal campaigns have to be dealt with an iron hand by the authorities. Given the well established linkages of elements in the campus with RSS-VHP and other Sangh Parivar forces, who are working to vitiate the atmosphere in JNU, we demand that the JNU administration take up this issue in all seriousness with the Delhi Police and other concerned.

It was shocking to know that immediately after the Council meeting was over, SFI withdrew its hunger strikers around 12 oclock at night, and came up with a poster announcing its unilateral decision. At no point during the meeting did councilors from the SFI mention that they had already decided upon this withdrawal. The speed with which the posters were put up also indicates that both the decision to withdraw, as well as the posters themselves, was ready long before any deliberation in the Council meeting. Obviously, they had no intention to wait and engage with the deliberations of the Council Meeting, since they were anyway prepared to implement their organizational decision irrespective of the Council Meeting. It is highly unfortunate that such unilateral moves were taken, even when the Council was deliberating all possibilities in an open and accommodative manner, and when no final decision had been arrived at. This goes against the much-desired necessity of unity that must be shown at such crucial junctures. In spite of this uncalled for unilateralism and attempts to score political points by SFI, JNUSU leadership thought it imperative to maintain unity of the Council at this critical hour, to come up with a united response to the JNUTA appeal. Therefore, another council meeting was reconvened late last night itself and the decision was taken to lift the hunger strike today at 11 am, in presence of the faculty members and the JNUTA. .
Following the withdrawal of the hunger strike, JNUTA initiated a dialogue with the administration and informed JNUSU about the constitution of a committee (consisting of Prof. Harjeet Singh, Prof. Sachidanand Sinha, Prof Aditya Mukherjee, Prof. Rupamanjari Ghosh and JNUTA President Prof. Malakar) to immediately take a call on the rustication orders. They also assured the JNUTA that they will initiate negotiations with JNUSU on our other demands, in consultation with JNUTA. .
It is indeed a testing time for the entire JNU community. Both the issues of administrative crackdown and commercialization raised by JNUSU constitute a challenge for the students as well as the very fundamental character of JNU. The protracted students struggle through its various trials and tribulations has partially stalled some of these moves. At the same time, it has managed to engage other sections of the University, particularly the teachers, to deliberate on these issues. Though the hunger strike has been called off, in response to JNUTAs appeal, in a bid to open dialogue, the struggle however is far from over. The special committee constituted on rustication orders had two long sittings yesterday and today, but it did not arrive at any decision. The committee has decided to sit again tomorrow evening. Such an attitude on the part administration is nothing but yet another brazen display of its habitual attempts to browbeat and denigrate the representative bodies of not just the students, but also the teachers. The administration is once again trying to prolong the impasse and provoke escalation. However the organized voice of the students, teachers, and karamcharis will not let this highhanded and draconian administration have its way to destroy JNU, and continuously renege on its own promises by shamelessly breaching its commitments to the entire JNU community. .
.
.
affects us will be taken at the AC. Every major struggle of the student movement ultimately sees the student community pressurising the AC to take a pro-student stand. It is inside the AC that the Administration tries to promote deliberate confusions and mislead the AC on crucial issues as it did in the case of implementation of OBC quota recently. Student representatives within it could play a crucial role in putting forward the students position and countering misleading propaganda. .
Which responsible student organisation will advocate that students willingly forgo and delay elected representation in such a body? It is therefore highly unfortunate that SFI is choosing to oppose immediate elections to representation in the Ac/BoS/GSCASH with absolutely no logic or rationale, and simply to score petty political points because AISA happened to make the proposal! .
The question we need to ask is: what is the purpose today of denigrating student representation in statutory bodies, including the Academic Council which is the highest decision-making body in JNU? Why this unnecessary and illogical competition between JNUSU and AC/BoS/GSCASH? Why is SFI forcing the student community to make a choice between JNUSU and elections to these statutory bodies? Any comparisons between JNUSU and elected representation in statutory bodies are unfair and illogical. JNUSU has its own role, and representation in AC/BoS/GSCASH has its own role and importance, and each is complementary to the other. .
For years, the student community fought for the right of elected representation in these statutory bodies which the JNU administration was hell-bent on denying, despite these rights being a part of the JNU Acts and statutes. The struggle for elected students representation in AC/Bos culminated in 2005 in a hunger strike in which JNUSU leaders from SFI and AISA both participated. At that time, students already had the JNUSU yet they thought additional representation in the AC/Bos was worthwhile and necessary. If the SFI really believes that representation in AC/Bos is so worthless and ineffective, why did they participate in the struggle to win representation in AC/Bos parallel with JNUSU elections at that juncture?! If representation in AC/Bos undermines JNUSU, why did JNUSU lead the struggle for such representation in 2004-05? .
Why is SFI asking the student community to voluntarily and willingly refuse representation in these bodies till the JNUSU elections issue is resolved? Why is SFI leaving AC/Bos elections for which no legal hurdles exist -to the whims and fancies of the Solicitor General! In other words, they are suggesting that we bind the AC/BoS/GSCASH elections by the same strings that currently bind the JNUSU elections. This tactics can only embolden none but the JNU administration to continue to have a free and unhindered hand in pushing through anti-student policies. There cannot be a more anti-student, illogical, and bizarre position than this! .
At the same time we share the concern voices by some student groups regarding the grade-point clause in the criteria for AC/BoS candidature. We commit ourselves to the struggle in the days to come to remove the merit clause from the criteria for AC/Bos elections. .
AISA appeals to the student community to support the demand for immediate elections to AC/BoS/GSCASH. At a juncture when the administration is trying to sideline these decision-making bodies, it is all the more necessary that we transform them into sites of struggle. The holding of AC/BoS and GSCASH elections can only contribute .

Will SFI answer why CPI(M) did not join the state-wide bandh called by several parties immediately after this heinous murder? Today, Kerala is witnessing unprecedented shock, anger and resistance to Comrade Chandrasekharans murder. It is widely believed in Kerala that the CPI(M) had a hand in his murder. V S Achuthanandan and state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan are engaged in a verbal duel, while the official state leadership of the Kerala continues to denigrate Comrade Chandrasekharan. And while all this happening in its own party, SFI comes up with a sanctimonious condemnation of Comrade Chandrasekharans murder to try and prove its democratic credentials in JNU! .

The unity of ultra understood in a pe1rs~1ective. .
The right wing forces would not leave any stone unturned to denigrate and malign the .
Left Front in this country. The fact of the matter is that the right wing forces could not digest their ouster from the Centre, enn after the 'shining campaign', thanks to the Left and Progressive forces. .
Today, communal forces are growing in different states and claiming Gujarat to be model for other states. In such a situation when it is important to give a united and stiff fight. to the communal forces, the Ultra-Left is still engaged in left bashing. The AISA-Ied JNUSU, which has always shown great enthusiasm in engaging in protest actions against the Left Front at the drop of a hat, did not enn think it to be necessary to call for a demonstration against the communal violence perpetrated by the Sangh Giroh against Christians in Orissa. We are not surprised why the student outfit of RSS-the ABVP has used the picture of a demonstration led by the Ultra-Left in their poster. Today Ultra-Left and Right has joined hand against left. We appeal to the student community be remain vigilant against such opportunist alliances. The Ultra-left must answer why ABVP is using the picture oftheir protest in its poster against Left. .
