I shot these pics of a slice of cheesecake from the French Pastry Cafe in Carlsbad, CA for the Strobist Boot Camp II assignment on shooting food. Now I have to decide which one to choose as my final entry. Then I get to eat the cheesecake -- yum!
Strobist info: Main light is an SB-900 with a Lumiquest Softbox III attached located above and slightly behind the plate on camera right. Fill is either from a foamcore reflector on camera left or an SB-800 bounced off the wall behind me (when I got tired of holding the foamcore in place).

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.

Unfortunately I don't remember the name, but if we were in south Italy it would be "frisa con pomodoro, olive e tanto altro"... anyway delicious!!!

On Monday, Carl and I ate lunch in Lake Jackson at All-Star Pizza. We had the delicious buffet of pizza, calzones, and cookies. Afterwards we drove to Brazos Bend State Park where we saw some wildlife exhibits and saw some wildlife: butterflies, a deer, a snake, baby alligators, some birds, and a baby coyote?
Then we drove to the museum district of Houston. At the Houston Museum of Natural Science, we toured two exhibits: Terra Cotta Warriors and the Spirits & Headhunters: Vanishing Worlds of the Amazon. We also saw the skeletons of some dinosaurs and exhibits of animals from Africa.
We had planned to go to the Houston Zoo since it was open free to the public on Columbus Day, but they wouldn't let us inside since it was less than an hour before closing time. Instead we found Hermann Park with a pond, some ducks, some coy, a turtle, and some statues. It was a nice find at the end of the day.
We drove back to Lake Jackson and ate a most delicious steak at Salt Grass Steak House before returning to Carl's house for me to pack up and leave early the next morning.
