I have a bad feeling that this project is just going to be a collection of food. Haha, but Vivian's tart was so pretty I just had to take a picture of it before Sam cut it. It was delicious :)

This collection of liquors comes from the estate of a friend's mother, who appears to have had a taste for old martini culture (not pictured are several bottles of vermouth). These are a few of the interesting ones.

Pour this all over your spaghetti.

Makes about 40 crisp on the out side and chewie in the middle cookies

9 oz brown sugar

9 oz white sugar

10 oz margarine or butter

2 eggs

12 oz chocolate chips, or chocolate cut into chunks

1 tsp vanilla essence

½ tsp bicarbonate of soda

½ tsp salt

18 oz plain flour

half the quantities for a smaller quantity :)

or

make full amount and cook biscuits oner a couple of days

Method

Mix butter/margarine with sugar until creamy and fluffy.

Add the eggs, chocolate chips and vanilla essence and mix well.

Mix the bicarbonate of soda and salt with the flour and add to the other ingredients. Stir to form a thick cookie dough.

Take golf-ball size amounts of the mixture and place spaced apart on a greased baking tray. Flatten slightly.

Bake for 12 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees C. The cookies should be slightly golden brown (for a crispier cookie, bake for longer).

Place on a cooling rack.

Store in an airtight tin, they keep well for at least a week.

So every time I made a waffle this weekend, the image of the Pillsbury® Dough-Boy™ appeared. I saved one to sell on ebay or to help heal me if ever I need healing (which I'm sure I will). I should have saved them all - just in case - but damnit they're so delicious...

Jeremy made me a right cup O' coffee at the Cherry Street Coffee House last week. mmm!

Stark Bro's: A modern apple in high demand. Outstanding fresh-eating qualities make this variety an American favorite. Fruit is aromatic and sweet as honey with an explosively juicy, crisp texture. Grow this naturally compact tree even in small spaces. Originates from Excelsior, Minnesota in 1974. Cold-hardy. Ripens in early September. Pollinator required: Choose another early or mid-blooming apple variety, like Starkspur® Red Rome Beauty, Stark® Jon-A-Red® Jonathan, or any Golden Delicious. Taiyaki is a Japanese pastry shaped like a fish and made with all sorts of fillings, the traditional being the sweet bean paste. I get the vanilla custard. They are best crispy and hot. This one is right near Hakata station, and is the only taiyaki shop I actually know the location of.

This lorry was spotted somewhere in the Midlands and might only be dear to myself and a few others who have a love affair with Weetabix. Oh how I wish I was that lucky lucky driver!
