Arches National Park : A 1.5 mile - 2.3 km trail (500 foot elevation gain) leads to the base of Delicate Arch, possibly the most famous natural span in the world. The La Sal Mountains are visible through the opening in the arch.

Smile on Saturday -Bokeh in Flora

2024 one photo each day

Another from my floral collection.

Downtown Walk, Rancho Santa Fe

This tiny handmade porcelain vase of lilies is no more than 3 cm (1 1/2") as shown in the photo.

I collected 12 of these beauties, a different flower for each month of the year. Each unique in its creation and handpainting.

Taken for the Macro Monday theme of 'Delicate'

Thanks and see you there

I can't remember the name of this plant but it produces these delicate small pink flowers.

Something that grows in the shadows!

{possibly a Kalanchoe!)

Phlox diffusa, Pacfic Crest Trail, Washington

The mountain wildflower species here are diverse and abundant, and I have many favorites among them, but I especially love seeing the carpets of phlox growing profusely on the hillsides along the alpine trails.

So soft and delicate in appearance, yet they thrive in some of the harshest conditions, preferring dry slopes, rocks, and gravel, bringing life to terrain that would otherwise seem barren. Their exuberant beauty is often such a contrast to their surroundings, and I admire their ability to bloom with such joy in difficult conditions.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Flowers

I am the lover's gift; I am the wedding wreath;

I am the memory of a moment of happiness;

I am the last gift of the living to the dead;

I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow.

But I look up high to see only the light,

And never look down to see my shadow.

This is wisdom which man must learn.

- By Khalil Gibran

Birches showing autumn subtlety

Incredibly delicate little guys - only 2cm tall. We almost missed them.

"Every time I walk through the world, I am awed by what I find. On a winter morning, when it seems too cold and slippery for safe jogging or bicycling, I can still go out and experience the glory of sunlight turning icy branches into strings of sparkling diamonds."

~ Bernie Siegel

Have a delicate weekend my dear friends.

"in the blink of an eye, it could all be taken away. Be grateful, always"

Played with a mini vase and a simple stem of my lavender, add some light, texture, a frosty surface, and boom we have today's photo knocked out! I wish I could come up with more complex compositions but I am a simple person and have to just accept that about myself. Happy Saturday!

Very pretty Cosmos with a pleated effect to its petals.
