Delicate Arch is one of the most recognized and most photographed landmarks in Arches National Park. The arch is 16-meters (52-feet) tall and was formed out of a dry seabed over millions of years. This capture shows the beauty and enormity of the surrounding Entrada sandstone mountaintop.

Nature hangs precariously out of balance, we are trying to do our part by using some of our land to grow a meadow, we've planted and encouraged wild flowers so butterflies and bees and other insects can pollinate and procreate and keep our Earth happy.

The park's flowers had just been watered, leaving the larkspur to look more delicate than ever. Some also call this delphinium and it's one of my favourite summer flowers.
Thank you for your views and comments, they're so appreciated. Have a great weekend!
Do you think about me?
Do you think of me after coming home, with your girlfriend, after spending the afternoon with me?

English:
The Delicate Arch Viewpoint Trail leads to a spectacular viewpoint. Through a unique desert landscape it goes directly to the viewpoint via a gently rising path. The magnificent view of the mighty sandstone arch, which is perched on a rock opposite, is impressive.
Deutsch:
Another from the day at Arches National Park. I liked having the one line person in there to give it the proper scale. Not long after this shot there were dozens of people making this shot impossible.
"We might live like never before
When there's nothing to give
Well how can we ask for more
We might make love in some sacred place
The look on your face is delicate"

These hands are meant to protect, shelter, and love her. She's so delicate, so perfect, and all mine.
Delicate Arch is a 52-foot tall arch in Arches National Park, Moab, Utah. Per the nps.gov website, the light opening beneath the arch is 46 feet high and 32 feet wide, making it the largest free-standing arch in the park. It has had more than a few names in its history, from the colorful ("Cowboy's Chaps", "Old Maid's Bloomers") to the prosaic ("Salt Wash Arch"). The term "Delicate" first appeared in a January 1934 article about the Arches National Monument Scientific Expedition, which described it as "the most delicately chiseled arch in the entire area."
Enough technical details. In my opinion, the main thing worth mentioning is that the arch was an awesome sight, much more impressive in person than in a photograph! Hiking back in the dark, I managed to wander off trail for about 25-30 minutes before finding my way back again. That was a bit frustrating, but makes for an interesting memory. By the way, this iconic arch is the one featured on Utah's vehicle license plates.
We planted this small ornamental peach tree last summer. Yesterday, the first tiny blossom showed itself. (the gray background is the paver path)

I'm out to enjoy this early Spring weather while it lasts... the forecast is for much colder and rainy starting Thursday.
