The Last Castle Hakone
ISEP Chukyo University in Nagoya, Japan Spring/Fall 2012
After Traveling Japan for a long time, I have finally gotten to see in person the last of the Four National Treasure castles (Himeji, Inuyama, Matsumoto, and finally Hikone) I went with a dear friend of mine, Miho and it was her first time seeing it as well making it a big event for the both of us
In my photography magazine this month, there's a competiton, which is to come up with your best creative "Low Light" photo. Whilst thinking about ideas for it, I came up with this - I wanted to convey a perception or "image" we can sometimes have of people, or certain types of people...until we look closer, or get to know them...and then we can see and know what they're truly like.

It's the first Friday of the month. You know what that means...
It's mixtape Friday!!
The first Friday of every month Mr. THP and I exchange a monthly "mixtape". While it's not in true tape form, the process and meaning behind it remain the same.
I don't believe there is any other singular form of expression that can rival the mixtape.
I just met you and I think you're cute.... I'm going to make you a mixtape.
I just realized I love you... I'm going to make you a mixtape.
I just found out you were screwing around with my best friend... I dedicate this mixtape to you, scumbag.
You get the point.
The mixtape is like a greeting card, only way cooler.
Point being, you can create a mix for just about any occasion.
When you sit down and really start to think of the recipient.... their likes/dislikes... what makes them smile... their overall personality....
the art behind making a mixtape becomes a very intimate process.
At the very surface you are at least saying I care enough about you to put some thought into arranging some songs that I like and I think you might like too and from this point forward whenever I hear these songs, I'll think of you.
So what is love?
Love is a mixtape.
[BTW, You can grab this month's mix here if you'd like]
my very favorite, the teeniest of dolls. The one on the left I forgot I had, but she is unbelievably beautifully embroidered. Her super duper tiny skirt is even layered times three! Whoever made her so many years ago was extremely skilled. The dolly next to her is a very old sachet that is also quite small.

Surfer’s Paradise: A Different Perspective
Australia Latrobe Academic Year 2011
As my time in Australia was coming to an end, I took a trip to Tasmania for one last adventure before i went back to my seemingly mundane lifestyle back in the states. I hiked up to the top of this mountain as looked beyond into the vastness of the beautiful landscape that i would soon be leaving. I couldn't help but feel so small and mundane compared to the vast and striking landscape i stood upon. Bittersweet: knowing that this experience was soon coming to an end, in yet i knew at this moment how privileged i was.
Porsche Prakti-mobile (aka Intern's car)
(AmCham German Internship Program at Porsche AG) Summer & Fall 2012
Being an intern has its benefits, especially if its at Porsche. Doing errands couldn't be more fun! I was also given a day long defensive driving course. Driving clients, picking up parts and documents, as well as driving to Weissach to visit the Porsche's Research and Development department.
It's one of those scenes you hope Heaven is like, don't you think? The dangerous beauty of winter all around, but there you are safely encased someplace warm, comfortable, and admirable... completely encased in winter, and yet set apart from it.
I'm really amazed at just how well this came out, given it was shot from a moving car.
