This is part of a piece of needlepoint I am working on for a Christmas pillow. In the front are the holes and threads of canvas that need to be covered with silk. In the out of focus area is the area I have completed. The piece has 14 holes to a square inch and overall is approximately 12" by 15". In and out each little hole truly takes dedication and determination. I wasn't sure when I started this art that I would have the right temperment---but as it turns out, it appeals to the detail-oriented side of me. Very relaxing to do actually...almost zen like in its repetition.

I dedicate my TV time to stitching painted canvas like this (or knitting), thus feeling superior because I'm not just sitting around letting TV fill my head with junk...

This will be a gorgeous pillow when completed and I'm on schedule ...so look for a photo of it close to the holidays!

Dedicated to all the needle arts lovers out there!
