Built in 1599, the haiden of Seiryu-gu is dedicated to Seiryu Gongen, a local deity of Daigo-ji. It was built some time after a similar shrine was erected in the Kami-Daigo complex.
Daigo-ji is a Shingon temple located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. It was established in 874, and is home to several important cultural artifacts. The gojunoto dates back to the year 951, making it the oldest structure in Kyoto, miraculously surviving the ravages of the Onin War.

St Cybi's was dedicated to the 6th Century Cornish St Cybi who crossed the Bristol Channel and sailed up the Usk, landing at Llangybbi. After a confrontation with a local chieftain involving a couple of miracles, he was granted the land for the church. The tower, nave and chancel date from the 13/4th Centuries, with 17th Century fittings such as the font. The church is noted for its mediaeval wall paintings, including the famous "Christ of the Trades" or "Sunday Christ". Unfortunately they have been badly damaged, possible by Cromwell's Roundheads who tore through Monmouthshire destroying all signs of "idolatry" like a 17th Century Taliban.
Shot in Pacific Rim National Park, on vancouver Island in British Columbia. I watched this guy fishing on a little rock island for about 20 minutes. He didn't seem too concerned about the incoming tide that surrounded the island and the wave action that grew with intensity.

An evening dedicated to the memory and the merit of the renowned poet Misak Medzarents took place on Friday, February 13, at 8:00 PM, at the K. and H. Armenian Hall of Levon Shant Cultural Center of Hamazkayin. The event was organized by the literary-cultural committee of the Central Committee of Hamazkayin. A large number of art lovers were present at the event.
At the beginning of the event, a film prepared by the committee was presented and in which intellectuals, school directors, teachers, students, and lovers of literature expressed their thoughts, opinions, and impressions of Medzarents and his work.
Following to the presentation of the film, Irma Dedeian delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the organizing committee. She mentioned that the goal of the event was to revive the spirit of Medzarents within the audience and which is enriched with balsams and has the lighted glance of an apricot.
Sarkis Giragossian was the keynote speaker of the event. He said that the immortals who are wearing the wreaths of the eternity do not need to have jubilee celebrations to become the matter of discussion and praise among the circle of literary critics and literature lovers.
Mr. Giragissoan said that in spite of his short creative life span over only four years, and after a century has passed on his death, we read the poems of the sensitive poet and will continue to read them in the manner we read the sky, the fire, the sun, the sea, the breeze, and the whispering of the blossom.
He mentioned that Misak Medzarents, who has goldened his poetry with the transparent and marvelous poetic legacy of Nerses Shnorhali. Krikor Naregatsi, Nahabed Kouchag, and the poetry of Agn, and who has sculptured his art under the influence of the mystic poets of Europe, and who had acquired a new poetic language with the determination to “Be myself as much as possible,” developed into a genuine naturalistic poet. Towards the end of his speech, Sarkis Giragossian affirmed that Misak Medzarents, due to his talent given by God, succeeded in becoming a philosopher of colors, aromas, lights and sounds not only for his own times, but for eternity.
Afterwards, Hera Ajemian performed a pice by Shopen on the piano and Irma Dedeian recited two poems by Medzarents, “Dour indzi Der” and “Antarts.”
Towards the end of the program, Manoug Minassian and Carmen Ajemian performed the duet “Yerazi orer” and Ms. Ajemian sang “Sirerk.” Seto Baghdasarian accompanied the singers of the keyboards.
At the end of the event, CDs featuring a collection of poems by Medzarents were given out to the audience. The poems are recited by Irma Dedeian, the accompanied music has been selected by Vahram Emmiyan, and the recordings have been carried out at Seto Baghdasarian Studio.

Three years after African Americans had been freed from slavery in the State of Maryland, Tolson's Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church was dedicated in October 1867. Named for Rev. John R. Tolson, the small log church was sheathed in board and batten siding with a small belfry. Inside, the chapel was appointed with a gallery, a small recessed chancel, and a curved communion rail with turned balusters. The pulpit and its complementing flower stands are positioned in the higher part of the chancel, while a choir section extends to the west side of the pulpit. The church served Sharpsburg's African American community for the next 132 years, but it was also used as a school for 31 years when in April of 1868, it became the "American Union School" organized under the Freedman's Bureau.
The chapel closed in 1998 and the United Methodist Church deconsecrated Tolson's Chapel. In 2006, the Friends of Tolson's Chapel (FOTC) began working to preserve the chapel. They found the building in a state of disrepair, but remarkably well preserved in terms of the original furnishings and even artifacts from the school. A hymn board, presented to the church from the Sunday School Class in 1949 still displays numbers from the last service. A stove is still positioned in the nave of the chapel surrounded by simple pews. An ornate oil lamp mount still hangs on one of the columns supporting the gallery. Work has recently been completed to restore the chapel's log walls, its board and batten siding, wood shingle roof and belfry, and also to restore the chapel's cemetery.
Dedicated in 1878, carved in Italy and erected on a base of Georgia marble, the monument honors anonymous enlisted men, represented by Augusta native Private Berry Benson at the top. It also honors Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, T.R.R. Cobb and W.H.T. Walker, whose life-size statues surround the base.
Dedicated in 1954. This church started when some members of St. John's Lutheran Church of Okabena split off when that church voted to leave the Missouri Synod.
